I use google translator all the time to read and post comments in other languages, and to understand what Mystery Guitar Man is saying in Portugese. When Google asked me about joining their demoslam project, I got this idea and thought it would be fun to make. I underestimated how hard it would be to sing in all those languages, so special thank you's go out to PdFlo, Carla, Nikki, Karolina, Courtney, and Jon Na for their help and pronunciation coaching. Lion King II is (c) Disney. *** Requested by Marii ^^ Okay, first, title wasn't possible to translate. Why? Because "Luli luli laj" are not a words with meaning. It's something like a simple lullaby to sing for children... Did you understand what I wrote? XD Okiey ^^ Zira rarely shouts. And it's good. She really sounds like she sings (tries to) "But she's talking for whole time!" Yeah, like in 99% of versions and what? -_- If you get a good voice, shout is needless. Besides, it's lullaby for God sake! It's possible sound evil and not to shout. I mean, I wouldn't imagine another Turkish version (I'm sorry, but I really hate this version D8) And just one thing: Nuka first part is something like a wordplay. "Gryźć ziemię" means "to die" or "to be buried" but it wouldn't make any sense with "Tyran paszczę ma zębatą" oO so I translated this literally And one more thing... "WILL YOU SHUT THE **** UP?!" oO I just wanted to say "Enjoy!" -_- ... ENJOY! ^w^ Edit: It's "learn" not "lern" by the way... I'm just stupid! :P

April 13, 2011 - What translates and what doesn't in contemporary poetry? What are mutual inspirations of Polish and Anglo-American poetry today? This event features a poetry reading by Piotr Sommer, followed by a conversation between Piotr Sommer and Bill Martin. Piotr Sommer, preeminent Polish poet and Visiting Professor at the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies, has published several dozen books, including poetry, literary criticism, and anthologies. He is also a well-known translator of contemporary English-language poets and is the editor of "Literatura na Świecie" (World Literature), a Warsaw-based magazine of international writing. Bill Martin, former Literary Program Manager at the Polish Cultural Institute, was responsible for the "Polish Literature" issue of the Chicago Review, which marked the first English publication for dozens of Polish writers. His translations from Polish and German include Natasza Goerke's "Farewells to Plasma" and Erich Kästner's "Emil and the Detectives."
