The power of repentance - sh. yasir qadhi

Allah does not love sins, but Allah loves to forgive. Allah does not love the sinner, but Allah loves the repenter. One of the biggest sins that we can do is to give up hope of Allah's forgiveness. To claim that, "Allah cannot forgive me," is a bigger sin than any other sin that you have done. "I am too sinful, there is no point in repenting, Allah cannot forgive me, I am too sinful." This very claim of yours is a bigger sin than anything else you might have done as a Muslim. O Muslim, no matter how sinful you are...do you think that you alone single handedly have commited so many sins that you can emcompass Allah's mercy, that Allah's mercy cannot forgive you, that you can challenge the Rahmaan and the Raheem? WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOUR SINS IN COMPARISON TO THE MERCY OF ALLAH ?! That arrogance is a greater crime and greater sin than any other sin you might have done. And that is why the Prophet (saws) said that the biggest of all sins is Shirk (polytheism) and to give up hope of Allah's mercy and to say that Allah cannot forgive me. To claim that Allah cannot forgive you, you're limiting the mercy of Allah, you're limiting the forgiveness of Allah. Dua Mashlool [Part 1 of 2] This dua known as "supplication of the youth stricken for his sin," is quoted from the work of Kaf-ami and from Muhaj al Da-wat by Sayyid ibn Tawus. Through Imam Hussain (as) it is reported that one day he and his father, after performing Hajj, caught sight of a paralyzed young man crying his eyes out in repentance. They went near to console him and find out the reason of his sorry plight. He was a habitual sinner, always teased his father, disobeyed him and treated him with contempt. One day, disgusted, the father invoked curse upon him. So he was affected with paralysis. Then and there Imam Ali ibn abi Talib (as) wrote his dua and gave it to him with instruction to recite after Isha salat. Next day fully cured, he came to Imam Ali and said that he had recited the dua as told and went to sleep. He saw the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in the dream. The holy prophet, gently touched his body with his hand and asked him to remember this dua as it contain ism-e-azam (the great names of Allah). Recite this dua after Isha salat. It brings countless blessings. All your legitimate desires will be fulfilled. It drives away poverty and sickness. Sins are for given. Debts are cleared. Enemies become friends. The Ayatul Kursi, or the Verse of the Throne, is one that carries countless blessings for the recitor. "When leaving home, if one recites it once, the Almighty has one group of Angels to come and protect the person. If recited twice, 2 groups of Angels are assigned to do this. If recited 3 times Allah tells the Angels to move aside as the Almighty Himself takes care of the person. Amir'ul Mo'mineen Ali Ibn Abu Talib (as) has said: "For each of the 50 words in the Ayatul Kursi, there are 50 lessons to be learned." Though the Ayatul Kursi is only the first Ayat in this video (255), I have also added the following verses (256) & (257) because of the beautiful meanings within the verses.
