Home theater circular screen example (2.35:1 aspect ratio)

This is an example of using NTHUSIM and a 180 degree circular screen as a home theater. In this case a movie preview is projected on the triple-projector circular screen in proper 2.35:1 aspect ratio. While it doesn't use the whole 180 degree screen while viewing movie content, this type of setup works well as both a gaming room and a home theater room. Standard Blu-ray content projected in a home theater setup like this uses about 2/3rds of the circular screen to achieve 2.35:1 aspect ratio. You can also use VLC and watch live TV in the same manner by piping the signal in through a firewire connection from a standard Motorola HD cable set top box. Panasonic in the US, is HQ'd in Secaucus, NJ. But they have their digital labs out by Universal Studios in LA. Today, I got a first look at Panasonic's PT-AE7000 (click for specifications) 3D and 2D, 1080p home theater projector! It will be shipping in September! I asked, they could not tell me when in Sept early or late, or... We'll just have to see. A quick comment then some details. I had the opportunity to see a good hour plus of assorted 3D content, including Ice Age 3, and others. This was in Panasonic's "theater" screening room. It's a small theater, with great huge home theater type seats (yep cup holders, too), and it's got all dark surfaces, and a huge screen. PT-AE7000 lens and controls lens shift and control panel We saw the PT-AE7000 as it will be called in the US or PT-AE7000U, also to be known at the PT-AT5000 in the EU, and probably a lot of the rest of the world. It's impossible to make any precise, quick judgements when viewing content you don't or barely know, in a room you are unfamiliar with. For that reason, I reserve all serious judgements for after a PT-AE7000 graces my testing room and theater. That said, it was most impressive! What we have here, is Panasonic's PT-AE70000. Stir Up! feat. Hatsune Miku by Allium Project If someone can translate the Japanese lyrics, all I have is a jpg of the CD insert: i1208.photobucket.com Edit note: My 2nd attempt at a Project Diva 2nd edit With the announcement of Dreamy Theater 2nd, I wanted to try and create a Miku music video performance that would take advantage of the updated graphics (while she wears the cool looking "Append" costume). A lot of Allium Project's works are of the repetitious techno/trance variety (done very well I might add). "Stir Up!" adds a little bit more of a discernible melody which keeps the song fresh and interesting throughout. And it seemed like the type of song Miku would perform on-stage, which made it the perfect choice for the selected background venue. Drawing from my learnings (and mistakes) of my first edit attempt in Project Diva 2nd with "Candy Or Dreams" I tried to hone down Miku's performance in "Stir Up!" with less backdrop changes but more precision in timing with camera movements, lip syncing, and on-the-fly dance move changes that don't look too noticeably choppy (it's hard to get around this though). I hope and I believe there is a marked improvement, though there are a few timing issues with which I'm still dissatisfied. The upgraded resolution of the HD graphics on the PS3 gives amazing results compared to the PSP counterpart and helps hide some sloppiness but enhances other miscues. Diy 3d home cinema for $1 (and a spare projector)

By using the filters from a pair of RealD 3D glasses from the cinema you can easily create your own 3D Home cinema. I happened to have my old projector lying around after upgrading so I thought I'd demonstrate how simple it is. RealD 3D glasses are circularly polarized so to make a home-cinema that works with these glasses you also need circularly polarised filters for your projectors. By opening up a pair of glasses you get two filters for about a buck. (If bought at the cinema.) Place each filter infront of the projectors so that the light shines out through them as if the light was shining out of your eyes. When viewing, you wear the glasses normally so the light passes the other way through the filters. I recommend you use a program like Stereoscopic Player from 3dtv to display a test-image on both projectors for alignment. It's this easy. No magic, no expensive stuff. (Except that extra projector ofcource.) Oh, and you need a video-card with dual-monitor support. One thing I forgot to mention in the video: You need a silverscreen or a reflective screen. Regular white will not work. The reflective surface will allow the light to return with the same polarization as the projector gave it so it is absolutely essential. Halo reach camera system versus halo 3's (theater mode)

The goal of this video is to raise awareness of a downgraded feature in Halo Reach from Halo 3. If you wish to help the community make Bungie aware of this, post in the forum links at the end of this description. In this video, I will show you the difference between Halo 3's camera system (used in both Theater Mode and matchmaking) and the current one in Halo Reach. The camera system in Reach has adopted a FAR less flexible ODST style of camera, that restricts the camera's zoom in functionality and allows less close up details to be viewed. In addition, the new camera often fixes itself into place, at an angle that makes easy viewing of the action much more difficult. This affects Reach negatively in several ways: 1: Halo Machinima directors will have to use the free-form camera to get good close angles, which takes time away from making their production. 2: The cameras fixed positioning hurts team-based games in matchmaking, because due to its inflexible panning system, it is much harder to callout what is happening around your teammates. When you die, the camera locks at a fixed angle that cannot be zoomed in or adjusted well. This is especially apparent in Invasion, when you rely on spawning on your fireteam partner. 3: Halo Reach has a plethora more customization then Halo 3. Here's a segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. This opening segment from "Show #5" features comedian Mort Sahl as guest coffin opener. (when he signs the coffin you can see other names that were on the show such as Ray Rayner) "The following prescribe is transcrammed..." - anyone know where this funny bit of technical mumbo-jumbo originated? Another Stan Freberg bit? "The time has come for scary things...like monsters, ghosts and vampire wings...and horrible movies all drippy and drooly...and horrible hosts like me - Svengoolie!" (last word changed each week - this time he says - en.wikipedia.org - Bruce Cabot) The song you hear after the introduction is Svengoolie's theme song, the 1958 instrumental "Rumble" by Link Wray and his Ray Men. (with a loop of some screams added for good measure) *In terms of trying to date this* - it's difficult. I know it says "Show #5" - but what does that mean exactly? It couldn't have been the *actual* Show #5 - from back in the Fall of 1970, right? This is because the show started out as simply voiceovers done by Jerry G. - with no real "show" format with guests, a coffin, etc. There are no clapboards segments - only the informal show # written in grease pencil or something at the beginning. There is some white -saturation due to the limits of the flip. But, I held the camera nice and steady for all to enjoy this souvenir of the show. I hope that you show your appreciation by commenting. From my seat, to provide the ambiance; to the left of me, a few seats down, was Mr. Crankyface. He had such a sour puss on him and looked more like a Depeche Mode type of fan. His wife rocked to the show while he made sour puss faces. In front of me was a guy in some altered state who kept cutting the cheese. Damn, he did expel so much noxious colon air! Not once, did he bother to go to the bathroom. At least he was not as bad as the hellacious fart cannon in front of me when I saw Alice on the Brutal Planet Tour. That stinker had people all around him ready to escort him to the bathroom or out ot the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park. The show was truly in "Smellorama". That show was great except for the stinky guy, just like on this tour. Damn deja vu is haunting me again. Please, for the sake of the other concert goers; watch what you eat ...
