Help the poor by ending state welfare

Charity 85% Efficient - tinyurl.com It was, and remains to be, very difficult for me to find any actual figures from the government itself on exactly how many families were on some kind of welfare for 2005. To give an idea of what the maximum number would likely be, we can look at the poverty rate, which is roughly 13% of the population. That would be 39 million people (3M*0.13). Considering that families on average consist of 4 people, that would mean 9.75 million families are below the poverty line (39M/4). Assuming all families under the poverty level are receiving welfare, they should each have received $41435.90 for that year alone (404B/9.75M). Assuming the average amount of money made every year from welfare (which again is a tedious figure to find hidden in government psuedostatistics) is $11000 a year, the government would only have been 27% efficient (11000/41435.90). The very fact that the government refuses to post what their actual efficiency ratings are and force us to estimate instead causes me to think that they know exactly how horrible they are at spending money and are embarrassed to make that figure public. Beginning dialogue with anarchocapitalist - lifeishowitis

I had better state before I get into this that I am actually a fan of market solutions to many problems and believe that government should be kept as small as possible. And I accept that this is a far cry from the state of affairs existing today. I am very much open to the idea that there should be a region of the world allocated for an anarchic society, though for me it is not an immediate priority and I also realise that it would have many practical difficulties in facilitating this arrangement, at least for many decades to come. The first problem with Anarchy is how can it fairly begin? How can existing property rights of Land, Housing and goods be allocated. I heard Jacob Spinney speaking of property acquisition in terms of making productive use of dis-used land. But there is very little land in modern society which is not laid claim to by somebody. Further more to this issue if those property rights are not to be respected, is it to be an initial land grab? And how does that represent fair distribution of the land of the planet. I do not believe granting of these property rights based on good fortune of physical location to be a just one. If you think this is fair, how do you defend the accusation that you are prey to bias, in that you are located in a very much favourable position to much of the world. This is a question to credibility and motive as the fact that your political position would seem greatly self serving and you are just following what you see as your ... Does fractional reserve banking increase leveraging? Does artificially low Fed interest rates increase leveraging? Does making more loans mean you must reduce your lending standards? Does the government offering tax incentives for home ownership and putting your savings into the stock market . . . incentivize more stock market speculation than there otherwise would be and more home buying than there otherwise would be? Does the government suing a bank for not making enough loans pressure all of the other banks into making more loans? Does buying mortgages from banks, and thus relieving them of any risk, cause them to no longer care if the loans they make will default or not? Does a government created entity packaging and selling these mortgages as "government securities" create the belief that they are guaranteed from default? Does this incentivize people to buy these securitized mortgages who otherwise wouldn't? Is a private entity more incentivized to buy unguaranteed mortgages if it knows that it will be able to lobby the government to bail them out if those mortgages default? Would you agree that the inflation of the money supply by nearly double thanks to fractional reserve banking and the federal reserve allowed nearly twice as many loans to be given out that otherwise would not have ...
