War of the worlds - terminator effect - machine take over - jacque fresco - the venus project

War of the Worlds - Terminator Effect - Machine Take Over - Jacque Fresco - The Venus Project
We have been conditioned to think that machines if given to much power will take over the world and enslave humankind. This is a Sci Fi fairy tale for machines have no desire to control the world. They are merely extensional to those they serve. Fear the misuse of technology rather then technology itself. In a resource based economy there will be a new set of beliefs and incentives in relation to the use of machines and it wouldn't be to dominate, control, kill or enslave one another.

Master mind machine

Master Mind Machine
This is the Master Mind Machine, a robot I made, installed at the Exploratorium Museum in San Francisco. It has an EEG interface, you put the EEG headband on and as your thoughts change the robot responds!, really, it took a long long time to get this made, i pondered the idea for like 8 or 9 years, the Exploratorium crew was invaluable helping make this happen!. A hybrid human machine system Reactive art, art that reacts to you= a machine that responds to your thinking/intellect This is a robot that reads your mind and responds to your thought processes an changes. Can your mind control the robot or does the robot control your mind and body? Much of my work involves finding interactive ways to blur the boundaries between people and machines. Getting to know this mechanical being takes some time and effort, and it's not always clear what exactly it's going to do. Is it simply responding to you, or are the two of you really interacting? Who's controlling whom? These deep uncertainties raise intriguing emotions—fear and trepidation, perhaps, but also anticipation and wonder, the excitement of the new, the thrill of contact. These are projects to explore new forms of interpersonal communication through touch, force-feedback technology, cyberkinetics, intimacy, social interaction via technology, machines, robot, fear, play, machine, human and animal interaction, rite of passage and empowerment.

Fear of robots and machines

Fear of Robots and Machines
Originally uploaded on TZMBigsteelguy | September 12, 2010 | People have these Fears because of all the hollywood films and of course how our jobs have been taken over by machines as well. Robots will be getting smarter whether we like it or not, but they are no where close to having our behaviors or violent tendancies. We follow on our emotions and Robots do not have emotions at all, and probably never will. Emotions are not a bad thing, it's only when we allow our emotions to effect others in negative ways. Robots will have those 3 Laws in place within their Computer chip, and they will not be able to access or change those laws. Robots will not have a Conscious mind because it is extremely impossible for them to have it, maybe not for a couple thousands years, maybe just maybe one robot will become conscious, but that is extremely far off from now. We need to let go of our fears of machines taking over, because it is un necessary for us to continue it. We are capable of alot of things, and we can travel the stars but if we are too afraid of Change and too afraid of our reality shutting down around us, then we do deserve to destroy our selves. The Global Elite want the public to be afraid of progress, they want the public to not think for themselves. They don't want the public to know the Truth, and they don't want the public to trust technology because they been brainwashing our children with all these tv shows, movies and video games on what negative futures awaits ...

Robot Wars - Worrying New World Technology for 21st Century Modern Warfare - War Of The Machines
THE ▀█▀ █▀ █_█ ▀█▀ █▬█ Я Ξ √ Ω LUT ↑ ☼ N Please Share With All Your Contacts! Subscribe www.youtube.com It is estimated that the work of one in fifty US soldiers is now being done by a robot. As the use of technology in war grows, this report goes in search of the truth about the military's newest recruits. The iRobot Development Laboratory in Boston, Massachusetts, may look like a scene from a science fiction film but this "hall of cool stuff" serves a very real purpose. The US army are increasingly using robots to disarm roadside bombs and fly unmanned aircraft in the Middle East. Now they are even creating armed robotic soldiers that can withstand repeated attacks. But whilst the young generation of US soldiers "know it will save their lives", these developments raise some serious ethical questions about the ability of technology to make human judgements in delicate situations. Keloid - a short film by big lazy robot vfx

KELOID - A Short Film by Big Lazy Robot VFX
Eliezer S. Yudkowsky wrote about an experiment which had to do with Artificial Inteligence. In a near future, man will have given birth to machines that are able to rewrite their codes, to improve themselves, and, why not, to dispense with them. This idea sounded a little bit distant to some critic voices, so an experiment was to be done: keep the AI sealed in a box from which it could not get out except by one mean: convincing a human guardian to let it out. What if, as Yudkowsky states, 'Humans are not secure'? Could we chess match our best creation to grant our own survival?. Would man be humble enough to accept he was superseded, to look for primitive ways to find himself back, to cure himself from a disease that's on his own genes? How to capture a force we voluntarily set free? What if mankind worst enemy were humans?. In a near future, we will cease to be the dominant race. In a near future, we will learn to fear what is to come. Robo rat - the brain/machine interface

Robo Rat - The Brain/Machine Interface
A fascinating look at research being done into linking brain and body to computers. The 'BRAIN INTERFACE'. Whether that means controlling the computer, or the computer controlling you. Cyborgs sound pretty Sci-Fi but the real life applications of this research has far reaching consequences and possibilities for the future of the human race. It's no wonder DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) funds this type of research. Switch off fear, turn on pleasure with just the press of a button. Curing people with spinal cord injury. Creating physical sensations for video games. Remote controlled soldiers. This Clip shows the research being undertaken at Downstate Medical centre / State University of New York, headed by John Chapin Other research including the BrainGate computer chip which allows people with the chip implanted to mentally control their computers or robotic limbs. NTT's headset that controls movement and balance What are the moral and philosophical questions associated with this type of research? Is the Robo-Rat the Model for the Soldiers of the Future?

Adam - Next Generation Robotics (Gay Short Film)
Twitter.com/Videographer88 for updates AdamFilm.tk 'Adam' is a gay short film raising awareness of the importance of self-acceptance. Click LIKE and SHARE the film to spread the word. The film mocks up a futuristic advert for a customisable robot and uses the mechanical metaphor to say we should never seek to control, suppress or silence a person, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. We are not robots. New's reports of homophobic abuse and the devastating effects it has on families are becoming ever too common. It's hoped the film will inspire young people struggling with accepting their sexuality due to bullying or fear to find confidence within themselves. We are not machines, we are human and we cannot be controlled, suppressed or silenced. Robots on the frontline

Robots on the frontline
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have demanded new tactics. Crude and cheap roadside bombs have made life hell for the most sophisticated military force in the world. But the United States - and other countries - have turned to technology to take on this new and lethal danger. Pilotless drones, for example, scour much of the landscape from Afghanistan to Libya. The battlefield of the future will see more machines - feeling no fear and having no morality - into combat. Thom Cookes reports. australianetwork.com

Electro Pop like in 80s and Robot's Color Show - (song Robo Colour World)
A robot is a mechanical or virtual intelligent agent that can perform tasks automatically or with guidance, typically by remote control. In practice a robot is usually an electro-mechanical machine that is guided by computer and electronic programming. Robots can be autonomous, semi-autonomous or remotely controlled. Robots range from humanoids such as ASIMO and TOPIO to Nano robots, Swarm robots, Industrial robots, mobile and servicing robots. By mimicking a lifelike appearance or automating movements, a robot may convey a sense that it has intent or agency of its own. When societies first began developing, nearly all production and effort was the result of human labour, as well as with the aid of semi- and fully domesticated animals. As mechanical means of performing functions were discovered, and mechanics and complex mechanisms were developed, the need for human labour was reduced. Machinery was initially used for repetitive functions, such as lifting water and grinding grain. With technological advances more complex machines were slowly developed, such as those invented by Hero of Alexandria (in Egypt) in the 1st century AD, and the first half of the second millennium AD, such as the Automata of Al-Jazari in the 12th century AD (in medieval Iraq). They were not widely adopted as human labour, particularly slave labour, was still inexpensive compared to the capital-intensive machines. Men such as Leonardo Da Vinci in 1495 through to Jacques de Vaucanson in 1739, as ...

Robot warning

Robot Warning
I am sorry "again" for any spelling errors... I just would like to tell you a few things about robots... ever since I was able to fear something, I have feared robots. These metal machines are (to me) the scariest thing on the planet... they can kill you just by a flex of their machanic arm. Imagine a world of waking up every morning to a robot. Here is an example say they put robots in charge of running the police system and they think you are a person your not so they kill you or better yet they disfunction and say they go to take your arm then go crazy and crush it. The main thing is no one understands the danger we are putting our selves in. Why do we even need robots at all? I'm just saying we are making them too smart and they WILL end up killing us! Just a reminder ... comment/rate/enjoy Also please subscribe to me. =I

Animatrix the second renaissance [part 1]

Animatrix the Second Renaissance [Part 1]
One of my favourite parts of the Animatrix, highly recommend this! The Animatrix (アニマトリックス animatorikkusu) is a 2003 direct-to-video anthology film based on The Matrix trilogy. The film is a compilation of nine animated short films. Explained throughout by a computerized narrator known as the Instructor (Julia Fletcher), the film begins with an introduction to the Zion Archive and the access of "Historical File 12 -- 1", "The Second Renaissance". The screen opens to the image of an immense megacity, in the late 21st century, wherein the vast human population is supported by a multitude of artificially intelligent machines. The machines are built in humanoid form and seem to be treated as slaves, employed in a variety of positions ranging from domestic servants to laborers on massive construction projects. "In the beginning, there was man. And for a time, it was good. But humanity's so-called civil societies soon fell victim to vanity and corruption. Then man made the machine in his own likeness. Thus did man become the architect of his own demise." With increasing numbers of people released from all labor, the human population has become lazy, arrogant, and corrupt. Despite this, the machines were content with serving humanity and, as the narrator states, "for a time, it [the status quo] was good". This phrase is a reference to one of the most famous phrases of Genesis, consistent with the Biblical references seen throughout the original Matrix films, and is one ...

Marvel universe sentinel toy review

MARVEL Universe Sentinel toy review
It was fear that drove Bolivar Trask to create the Sentinel Program. He had studied the history of human development, and hypothesized that the rise of mutants meant the end of humanity as he knew it. The trajectory of the future awoke in him a gut-wrenching terror - one that guided every decision he made for years. The discovery that his own son was a mutant only confirmed his fear. The solution Trask created was an enormous machine - a multistory engine of destruction. Thirty feet tall, Trask's SENTINEL robots were capable of high - speed flight, and wielded powerful concussive energy blasts with deadly precision. Thought Trask quickly came to realize his mistake, the software that allows these robot hunters to detect and disable mutant powers, and the mighty weapons they carry. The X-MEN have faced these destructive machines countless times, and each encounter has been more dangerous than the last. As technology has improved, each generation of SENTINEL has become more effective at its primary task - the destruction of all mutants. The margin of victory for the X-MEN has become more and more narrow in every battle until ever mutant has come to believe that it is only a matter of time before even the X-MEN are overcome, and Trask's terrible dream becomes reality.

Viva : And talking about science fiction, how do you guys imagine the future? Bill: I hope there will be a lot of experiences, expecially technicaly, in the future, because I'm a big fan of it. Tom: I would like flying cars. Bill: Right! Flying cars and robots managing around, that would be cool. Georg: And a beamer would be nice. Bill: Yeah! Certainly beaming, because we all hate it to fly (in airplanes) and we loose a lot of time with it. So when anybody exposes something like that, I would be the first to try it. Tom: I would like to have aliens here on the planet. Bill: Me too! Tom: And who already found one? Gustav: Not me. Georg & Bill: Me neither. Viva: Nobody has. (: And are there some things you fear for the future? Bill: I'm sorry? Viva: Are there some things you fear for the future? Bill: Ehm . *is thinking* Yes, maybe that al lot of things get done by machines and nothing's left for humans. That would be really sad, so we really have to pay attention to that. Human things just have to stay, for example when you go in the shop and there are only robots, no machines. That would be not so nice. Tom: But it would be cool when you could have a robot that do all things for you. Of course such things always have negative sides. Georg: And in your bed? Would be cool too *laughs* Tom: Yes of course * laughs* Viva: Eh yeah indeed. *wtf.* So, in the time between the last album and this new one, a lot of things happened. You guys got succes in foreign countries, did that ...

zoe performance @ kunsthaus graz ROBOTERTRÄUME / ROBOTDREAMS exhibition opening 8.10.2010
"ZOE" is an attempt to represent human and interpersonal relationships through machinery, describing social phenomena through principles of movement, although the causes of these principles are (still) unknown. For this artproject I use active and reactive objects whose formalized behavior trigger emotion and life. In my point of view, machines are neither intelligent nor do they have feelings. Emotions entirely exist on the human side. In other words machines and therefor robots don´t bear emotions. But they can produce feelings because of their behaviours and during their utilisation. They are some kind of emotional prosthesis. Emotions are definitely triggered by a machine/robot, in the moment when recipients can't explain the machine's behaviour (so my self-experiment): That means, that machines can behave in a way humans understand. As we know there exist certain points of not understanding a machine - we can't reconstruct what the machine is doing right now. In this point of no understanding emotions are created. For instance, if the robot runs away without having a reason for it, if the machine flees like a shy creature into a corner, then emotions are triggered. My insights: Emotions are attempts to interpret behavior or even only movements of a moving object. If a robot strings many seemingly reasonable movement patterns together and it is not easily possible to anticipate the objects future behaviour, we interpret its behavior as intelligent, focused and alive ...

Will robots take over the world? (24 feb 2011)

Will robots take over the world? (24 Feb 2011)
UCL Lunch Hour Lecture: Will robots take over the world? (Dr Kathleen Richardson , UCL Anthropology 2011 is the 90th anniversary of the robot, first imagined as a character in a play, performed in Prague in 1921. It is also the 50th anniversary of the first use of robots in industry with the robot 'Unimate' for General Motors in 1961. Since the origin of robots they have undergone a number of transitions from the popular idea of the robot as a domestic, a vision popular from fiction such as the 1970's cartoon 'The Jetsons', to the last fifteen years imagining robots, not just for work, but to act as companions, exercise coaches for the elderly or stroke patients, and assistants for children with autism spectrum conditions. This lecture will explore the history of the robot, and how it has changed and been re-imagined in fiction and labs over the last 90s years.

(Lyrics) I never ask myself why injustice befell me Accepted of the fact, try and live a life of peace I'm not a violent man, but to those who'd threaten me My enemy, for my family I'll show thee Death I will fight you to Wrath provoked you cannot bear Our lives are not your toys Mercy, not a drop to spare You of destruction Of hope's deconstruction Kills Innocence is lost when The blood of innocents Spills I'm not a violent man, again I wish to repeat But for every human that takes away a child's innocence Whether it by molest, or by all wars pointlessness Killer of life Corruptor of all that is pure I want your nose to break Shattered under clenched fist Smash face to concrete Taste the asphalt's gentle kiss You of destruction Of hope's deconstruction Kills Innocence is lost when The blood of innocents Spills To those that are to blame Destroyers of every dream Breaking of hatred's wings Mars' phoenix begins fading To those that monger war Claiming that this is to even scores This mantra I invoke No longer this fear will I choke There's no peace ...

Jack Hanley show 2011.m4v
KAL SPELLETICH WHERE'S MY JETPACK!? machines, robots, jetpacks, video and photographs July 9th - August 12th, 2011 Opening Saturday, July 9th 6-8PM Closing Party Friday August 12, 2011. Beer & BBQ JACK HANLEY GALLERY 136 Watts Street New York, NY 10013 646.918.6824 Before flying was a means to an end, it was a sensation. The perennial struggle to fly sought a deep-rooted joy of weightlessness, the release of our own corporeality, and the all-too-human satisfaction of "touching the sky". The flying machine made the human superhuman. For Kal Spelletich, flight's future promise may be gone but not forgotten -- where are the jetpacks? The flying cars, escape pods, gravity boots, moon colonies? This is supposed to be the future. Where's My Jetpack?! takes us back to a moment of invention. Or perhaps, reminds us that its time is now. As always with flight, there is an element of danger. The aspiration to conquer the sky comes with a gut-wrenching fear of free fall, an Icaran fate. Machinery may have liberated the body from gravity, but not the mind; Spelletich asks us to to consider how the body might transcend the mind in order to free it as well. Where's My Jetpack? celebrates the fact that we are still participants in an ancient and ongoing struggle to conquer gravity. Kal Spelletich received his MFA from the University of Texas at Austin and currently lives and works in San Francisco, California. Spelletich helped found SEEMEN, a collective of individuals who enjoy building ...

These unprecedented things may be able to change however from now. That's why I expressed through World Order to convey some message to you on my own way. I see these accidents will become a turning point of civilization. I think the time of revolution is coming, where people in the world coexist with this planet against the system of modern society, economy and politics. Any accident is neutral. Although we are straying around this ...
