If you're not sure what we mean by the game "Telephone", it's the party game where you whisper something in someone's ear, then they whisper it in someone else's ear, and so on. The message gets changed over time. If you're playing this game at a party, it probably means it's a pretty lame party. If you turned on the Closed Captions, you may notice that the transcript is significantly different from what we ended up with for each round. That's because each time a video is uploaded, the computer listens to the audio and interprets it fresh. So, even if you upload essentially the same audio, if one small thing changes in your video, the transcript will change, sometimes a lot. It's just a phenomenon associated with the technology. Our scripts from rounds 2 & 3 came from the actual transcripts that were generated when we uploaded those videos. Make sense? Nikolaus google translate fail

St.Nikolaus day is a calebration in Germany where kids get sweets put in their shoes by St.Nikolaus. And because that day is tomorrow (6.12.) we wanted to make a short video about it plus we wanted to prove that google translate isn't all too reliable!!:D I must admit that I was inspired by rhettandlink. Pandora mythology project caption fail

For our mythology project, Joey, Jordyn, Amanda, and Nathaniel told the story of Pandora. Our first video was uploaded to youtube, and used the automated-caption feature (which is often hilariously wrong), and used the automated captions to write our second script. We made captions of what we're saying to make us easier to understand. (Credit is due to Rhett and Link, who we took the idea from) There's a few mistakes in the video here and there, so things are a bit messy in places. Youtube fail!

If you havent noticed yet, at the bottom right of most youtube videos is a little icon that says CC on it, which stands for CLOSE CAPTION, what this feature does is youtube attempts to type out what it thinks you are saying, so its like a subtitle feature for most videos. once you hover over CC and its red, it should come up with TRANSCRIBE AUDIO beta. Everything is automated and the computer types what It thinks it hears, which obviously the end results are mostly off and normally very very funny. Now today ,I have a plan, todays plan is to show the failure of this feature, but to also show the brilliance of this feature.
