Reporters attacked by mob! enhanced version, with subtitles.

Reporters Attacked By Mob! Enhanced Version, With Subtitles.
"This is one of the hazards of the business but we didn't expect what we encountered here today," said reporter John Lobertini. Early this morning, a man who friends identify as 27-year-old Chester Jackson was shot and killed in a parking lot outside an IHOP in the 2900 block of Advantage Way. Sacramento Police say it started as a fight inside the restaurant. Friends and family gathered at the scene Sunday and set up a memorial with candles and balloons. When FOX40 reporter John Lobertini and photojournalist Rebecca Little approached around 4 pm to see if anyone wanted to talk about what happened, they were attacked. Several people pulled Little to the ground by her hair and kicked her in the face. "When I fell on the ground I was protecting myself, and then she kicked me and I was still kinda paralyzed, and I hear my reporter John say, 'get up, get up,'" said Little. Lobertini was also attacked. "I was punched on the side of my face," said Lobertini, "but it was a situation where I was trying to fight off 6 or 7 or 8 people, I can't even count them." Online comment: The people attacking the news crew are the same type of people that are upset when no one cares if they lose a family member. The same people who will cry racism because the media won't cover their neighborhoods and businesses won't invest where they live.

Chinese spies infiltrate canadian government?

Chinese Spies Infiltrate Canadian Government?
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com On September 8, Bob Dechert, Canadian Conservative MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Secretary, was exposed of having ambiguous email communications with Shi Rong, a reporter of Xinhua News Agency in Toronto. On September 9, Dechert admitted sending those emails and made an apology. Canadian media described Xinhua News Agency as a Chinese intelligence agency, questioning whether Chinese spies have infiltrated the Canadian government. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spies are receiving attention again. According to newspaper Globe and Mail, on September 8, about 240 people in media, academic and political areas received many emails, sent by Congressman Dechert to Shi Rong, a reporter of Xinhua News Agency in Toronto. The emails included "You are very beautiful," "I miss you" and other flirtatious content. Globe and Mail published part of the emails. On September 9, Dechert issued a statement on an official website, admitting he had sent the emails, and apologized to those harmed. But he denied any mistakes. Dechert said in the statement that Shi Rong's email account was hacked due to family disputes. Globe and Mail quoted Shi Rong's words, saying her husband hacked her email account. Globe and Mail reported that the CCP has been actively engaged in foreign intelligence gathering. In 2010, Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) Secretary Richard Fadden warned that CCP spies had ...

Colin powell explains his endorsement decision

Colin Powell Explains His Endorsement Decision
Speaking with reporters after his appearance on NBC, Powell said that part of the reason he is supporting Obama is because he did not like the negative tone of John McCain's campaign, which has noted the links between Obama and domestic terrorist William Ayers. "It troubled me. We have two wars. We have economic problems, we have health problems. ... Those are the problems the American people want to hear about, not about Mr. Ayers, not about who's a Muslim and not a Muslim. Those kind of images going out on Al Jazeera are killing us around the world," he said. "I thought it was over the top. It was beyond just good political fighting back and forth. ... We can't judge our people and we can't hold our elections on that kind of basis," he added. Powell, who described himself as still a Republican, added that he also doesn't like the McCain camp's decision to call Obama a socialist because he wants to raise taxes on individuals and businesses making more than $250000 a year. "Taxes are always a redistribution of money. Most of the taxes that are redistributed go back to those who pay it -- in roads and airports and hospitals and schools -- and taxes are necessary for the common good, and there's nothing wrong with examining what our tax structure is and who should be paying more, who should be paying less. And for us to say that makes you a socialist I think is an unfortunate characterization and is inaccurate," he said. While saying he doesn't want to see his taxes go up ...

China's business owners are "running away"

China's Business Owners Are
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com With global recession and the European debt crisis heavily hitting the global economy one after another, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has rolled out a series of tight policies to curb inflation. This is forcing private enterprises to turn to underground banks for financing. The current, weak European demand impacting Chinese exports, is triggering a new wave—business owners are "running away." The flight of business owners is gradually expanding on a large-scale, following experts' earlier predictions. Europe has been one of the largest importers for Chinese goods, but is now in a deep debt crisis. China's recent economic data shows Europe's recession negatively impacting China's exports. With the end of the year being a time for repaying debts, enterprises are encountering serious cash-flow issues. All over Zhejiang Province, businesses are going bankrupt or being abandoned. Since early October this year, 228 business owners have disappeared—9 of them having committed suicide in Zhejiang Province. Why did businesses go bankrupt only in Zhejiang? Professor at the Univ. of Southern Carolina's Aiken Business School, Xie Tian, says private enterprises in Zhejiang Province are forced to rely on high-interest and third-party loans, and underground banks. But the wave of bankruptcy caused by the economic crisis will hit the whole of China, not only Zhejiang. [Xie Tian, Professor, University of Southern ...

Harwell: Need To Balance Business Privacy, Transparency (TNReport.com)
Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell says she expects to find a middle ground between taxpayers' right to know who is behind the businesses collecting millions of dollars in state grants and tax breaks and the private businesses' desire to keep their ownership structure out of the public light. "Private companies just do not want all that information divulged and that's understandable. On the other hand, citizens have a right to know how their tax dollars are being used and spent and I think we're going to come up with what will be pleasing to both of those." Harwell told reporters Feb. 16, 2012. For more, go to www.tnreport.com.

Turkey Press Freedom Under Fire By Ivan Watson and Yesim Comert CNN Posted: 1:57 pm EDT May 6, 2011Updated: 1:57 pm EDT May 6, 2011 ISTANBUL, Turkey (CNN) -- The four-year investigation into an alleged plot to overthrow Turkey's government just keeps getting bigger. But as police arrest more and more journalists accused of aiding the coup plot, press freedoms groups are expressing alarm. With more than 50 reporters currently behind bars in Turkey, activists argue freedom of expression is under fire in a country that is often promoted as a model Muslim democracy for the turbulent Middle East. Meanwhile, many writers claim that a new taboo has emerged in this Byzantine web of politics, power and press... an enigmatic Muslim cleric who leads a vast network of international schools and businesses from his home in exile, a farm in the US state of Pennsylvania. Last March, police swept through the Istanbul homes of two high-profile investigative journalists, seizing documents and detaining the reporters: Posta newspaper columnist Nedim Sener and online news editor Ahmet Sik. These arrests came after police detained the editors of Oda TV, a hard-line secularist internet news portal that often criticized the government of prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The journalists have yet to be formally charged. They join hundreds of other jailed suspects awaiting trial in the sprawling investigation into "Ergenekon," an alleged gang led by ultra-secularist Turkish military officers ...

Financial news mon apr 30th 2012 - spain recession, microsoft buys nook, chen guancheng

Financial News Mon Apr 30th 2012 - Spain Recession, Microsoft buys Nook, Chen Guancheng
The Wall Street Journal reports, Microsoft is making a $300 million investment in Barnes & Noble's Nook digital-book business and college-texts unit, in a move that helps value the prized Nook business. Microsoft will have a 17.6% stake in a new subsidiary for the businesses, in a transaction that values them at $1.7 billion. That compares with Barnes & Noble's current market cap, of about $791 million, and could fuel the argument, that the digital business should be separated from the retail division. As part of the move, there will be a Nook application included in the new Windows 8, which is scheduled to have a release preview in early June. Bloomberg reports, The euro weakened for a third day against the yen after a report showed Spain's economy entered its second recession since 2009, adding to concern Europe's debt crisis is worsening. The 17-nation currency extended its first monthly decline this year, versus the dollar as, Spanish ministers prepared to brief reporters on plans, to cut the deficit in an economy that's grappling with almost 25 percent unemployment. Reuters reports, The United States faces a tense week in China, as high-level talks on trade and global hot spots, like Iran and North Korea, begin, in the shadow of a blind Chinese activist's bold escape, from house arrest, to seek US protection in Beijing. What is really going on in mexico? - a dolphin's sad fate

What is Really Going on in Mexico? - a dolphin's sad fate
Do you care about dolphins? Must see YouTube video. CBC Dolphin Dealer. www.youtube.com "A haunting film about the largest capture and export of wild dolphins in history, perpetrated by the world's most notorious dolphin dealer, Canadian Christopher Porter." What is REALLY Happening in Mexico? The Mexico Tourism Board and itravel2000 have partnered to launch a consumer-to-consumer web blog. These chaps are not consumers, they are not even reporters, they are pitchmen for businesses. We also found this: "Despite protests up to 200 bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops aduncus, Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins) from the Solomon Islands were captured in the lawless Solomon Islands for export around the world. 28 arrived alive in Cancun, Mexico July 21. Two more are believed to have died already. On the scene in Cancun, Ben White of the Animal Welfare Institute, reports that he could hear the dolphins scream 200 feet away from their pens. They arrived in small metal boxes with a sling. No water appeared to be in the boxes. The boxes were dragged across the sand. A Mexican animal protection group, Conservación de Mamíferos Marinos de México (COMARINO) filed a lawsuit to challenge the legality of the import permit to Cancun. COMARINO's lawsuit against the Mexican Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources claims that Parque Nizuc's permit was incorrectly issued and that the ministry should have revoked the permit once government officials learned that certain conditions were ...

Business closures skyrocket in peale river delta

Business Closures Skyrocket In Peale River Delta
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com Business failures are quickly spreading in the Pearl River Delta, sparked by the economic downturn in the US and Europe and the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) macro-control of the money supply in China, over the past few months. The traditional labor-intensive small and medium enterprises will be the first to be affected, with high-tech companies to follow. After completing the last batch orders in 2011, business closures may be imminent. Following the large-scale business closures in Wenzhou, businesses in the Pearl River Delta also experienced a crisis. Many companies don't have an adequate cash flow, triggering strikes, and often times, wage claims. On October 17, at the Crown Star Precision Bracelet factory in Shenzhen, which makes the Japanese brand Citizen watches, 1178 employees stopped working for one week, due to issues relating to wages, social security, provident funds, and others, including asking employers to pay related expenses. The 22-year-old Foshan city plastics company, Eastern Plastics Co., Ltd. suddenly closed its doors on August 2011. When its main boss, Kong Yongqi, escaped to New Zealand, thousands of workers became unemployed overnight. On August 20, workers occupied the Sands Bridge, leading to a one-hour traffic jam until the local government agreed to pay the workers their wages. Eastern Plastics Co., Ltd is a microcosm of many companies in China. In June and July, the ...

Millionaire linda mcmahon skewered for not knowing the minimum wage

Millionaire Linda McMahon Skewered for Not Knowing The Minimum Wage
MSNBC, 9/30/10 Connecticut Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon who made her fortune literally off the blood of others in the wrestling business got the endorsement today of the National Federation of independent business which like most Republicans opposes any increase to the federal minimum wage. Now, logic would dictate if raising the minimum wage is a bad thing, then lowering it must be a good thing. That logic was obviously in mind when Linda McMahon today faced her first questions, ever, from reporters on the minimum wage. When asked by a report federal the federal minimum wage should be reduced, she said: "We've got minimum wages in the state, we've got the minimum wages in the government, and I think we ought to look at all of those issues in terms of what mandates are being placed on businesses and can they afford them?" Rewrites never get any easier than this. The answer to that question is no—the minimum wage should not be reduced. It doesn't matter if you want to reduce it, or even if you think it should be reduced, it is never going to happen because it never has happened. It started at 25 cents an hour in 1938 and it has very, very slowly increased to -- oh, yeah. That's right, Linda. You don't know what the minimum wage is. When you were asked today if you knew the current minimum wage, you said you didn't know and you would have to check. As you by now know, the federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. In Connecticut, being richer than the rest of the ...

Wisconsin and southern/wrrtc business train chase 5/18/2007

Wisconsin and Southern/WRRTC Business Train Chase 5/18/2007
The Wisconsin & Southern Railroad ran its business train from Janesville to Madison for executives and commissioners from the Wisconsin River Rail Transit Commission to inspect the line using the view from the Theater Car "Stone Gardner." Power was WSOR E9As 10C and 10A, which have since been renumbered 101 and 103, respectively and had an E9B join their ranks. Ditchlights and new plows also make the locomotives look different from the time of this video. We saw the train first at Milton Junction, taking the wye track towards Madison. The other wye track to the Waukesha Subdivision is visible in the foreground. Next we caught the train crossing County Highway M west of Milton Junction, then pulling into the depot at downtown Edgerton for a brief stop to let some reporters off. Finally, we shot the train making what was at the time "track speed" through the Williams Drive grade crossing in Stoughton. The Milwaukee Road (former owner of this line) was a big user of the high-pitched Western Railroad Supply Company "Mini" crossing bell. One of several dozen specimens remaining around former MILW lines in southern Wisconsin sounds the alarm for the approaching train at Williams Drive. December 2011 update: Many other things besides the locomotives have changed since the taping of this video. The welded rail upgrade that was deemed necessary following this inspection trip has finally been completed, raising the speed back to 25 MPH and eventually 49 MPH on the entire line. The ...

China locks tibet's gates

China Locks Tibet's Gates
Don't forget to Thumb us and Subscribe! Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Become a Fan on FACEBOOK: on.fb.me March is the traditional Tibetan New Year. The authorities recently imposed a ban on foreign visitors and journalists to enter Tibet, with tight securities even in Jokhang Temple. Foreign media believe that this is in line with the CCP's typical high-handed policy. Scholars say it cannot fundamentally solve the issues. Agence France-Presse reported, as per travel agencies, as the 3rd anniversary of "3.14" Lhasa incident approaches, a ban is imposed on foreigners to enter Tibet in March. Radio Free Asia confirmed, journalists from abroad, Hong Kong and Macau are also prohibited, even for the reporters with valid Tibet-entering permits. The reason is, all businesses are closed for the new year. The CCP secretary in Tibet, Zhang Qingli, explained, Tibetan religious activities are frequent in March. Also, it is still cold and not suitable for traveling. He also said Tibet still faces challenges from "separatists." The Associated Press commented that Zhang's remarks indicated the CCP's position of ruthlessly cracking down on all Tibetan dissidents. Zhang's remarks came just before the 3rd anniversary of "Lhasa incident", which caused at least 140 deaths. The CCP authorities have always accused Dalai Lama of having orchestrated the event behind the scene. Kelsang Gyaltsen, an MP of exiled Tibetan government told Voice of America, after 60 years of CCP rule, Tibet remains ...

In this episode Jim interviews Fran Kirschner of Frantasy Enterprises. Listen as Jim and Fran discuss the importance of Public Relations for businesses. When someone needs your service, do they think of you? Do they even know of you? This is what Public Relations is all about, gaining top of the mind awareness in your prospects. Do not keep your business a secret, let everyone know about the good things your business does and the excellent services you provide for your clients. Public Relations helps create visibility, define an industry niche, and outlines why you are better than your competition. There are two ways to get news in the media, one is to pay for it and the other is to have the news media insert it as part of an article or public awareness piece. News articles are very powerful as they project your business as an expert in your field. Examples of public relation can be found in news print, Web sites, radio announcements and news, word of mouth, and many other forms. The question now becomes how to get your news into these outlets. Fran Kirschner explains how important it is to have a solid relation with editors and reporters in the news media. Public Relation firms should have these relationships and it is a huge part of their value. Correspondence with the news media should include stories and news with a human interest element such as new business achievements, local community activities, hiring new employees, promoting employees, election to a board of ...
