Thanks, I truly hope that to be the case.

Actually, just to ...
Actually, just to be accurate, this was not a graduate class, it was a random assembly of anyone who was interested in checking out the lecture. Probably about half were students, the other half randoms who heard about it one way or another. The loudest complaints were from the randoms.

Jacque's vision and ...
Jacque's vision and idea's are extremely practical. However, the majority of this graduate class seem to be extremely critical. It's unfortunite because their pessimism is grounded on their inability to comprehend all facets of a healthy society. Unfortunitely, humanity has been conditioned to operate strongly off of fear and individualism. Jocque's vision is too extreme for those who still operate off an egoistic mindset. Listen to some of these questions and comments from the audience.

I understand that ...
I understand that this is my opinion, but I wanted to comment on the concern over the rise of a dictator. It seems to me that leaders, rulers, dictators always seem to rise to power when there is a current problem within that society. In Jacques design, most of the problems of today would a thing of the past.

I wish there was a ...
I wish there was a younger version of him around. Sometimes he goes of topic and doesn't go back to the question. It makes him sound less credible and that saddens me :(

That guy raising ...
That guy raising his voice against a 97 year old man is clearly offended that his small pathetic little world of ideas is threatened by innovative motions. i will spit in his face. the little scumbag

OK now i'm really ...
OK now i'm really annoyed. The people in the audience just don't seem to get it.... when every person has al the intrinsic NEEDS met they... won't... even.. consider... being toxic to the society as it will exist then. they won't try to manipulate the computer system for their own good. if they have everything they need they'll only think of the good they can do. limited minded people only trying to debunk a great teacher and get their ego's pumped up.

If you don't ...
If you don't understand that education is the key to population control along with birth control methods, you don't have anything to laugh about.

Gotta figure a lot ...
Gotta figure a lot of people's idea of "freedom" is freedom for themselves to oppress others, I think he's right the transition is gonna be really hard for some.

I watched this again, and found her not annoying. I must have been having a bad day.

I think it's mainly ...
I think it's mainly her voice that does that. She does sound a little bit too emotional. I'm sure it's just an effect her pitch of voice gives.

Some people are ...
Some people are just to scared of getting rid of their antiquated value systems because it is what they use to comfort themselves when they can't think further than their own nose. They then become stuck in a "mental loop" (they hear but don't listen). They usually resort to violence in an effort to impose their opinions. Usually they tend to be a lot more respectuous to 6.6" 350 pound bodybuilders. People that use force understand the limitations of the use of force very well...

The woman is annoying....Jacque is genius.

The best thing for ...
The best thing for people to do to help The Zeitgeist Movement and The Venus Project is to just start telling people, friends, coworkers strangers etc. and have them watch all the information on line. That is the best thing to do RIGHT NOW!!!! Educate people! Telling no one is the WORST thing you can do.

Seabrali on 2010-08-20
The more educated ...
The more educated people are the less children they have statistically. The reason we have so much population growth today is largely due to superstitions, traditions, maladjustment to modern sanitation (i.e. children don't die off like they used to) and sheer lack of education/free access to birth control. If people are made aware of the earth's carrying capacity and the conditions overpopulation generates, they would think before having kids.

Jacque has just ...
Jacque has just created his own little world where he would be happy, he thinks everyone is an Engineer, but regretfully they are NOT !! - WAKE UP JACQUE ! Population control = Education - HAHAHAHA - Sure...

Population ...
Population increases... we colonise the oceans, then space :) if we work together anything is possible for everyone to live comfortably.

@ROAHHHH yea i ...
@ROAHHHH yea i can't see why they can't grasp it, some native american culture had societies set up like his idea, where people did not own property, everything belong to the village, it was the European that brought over the idea of land ownership, which the people in this talk can't seem to grasp, i wish Jacque had use the native americans an example, Howard Zinn written a little bit on this subject in "A Peoples History of the United States 1492" the amish is another good example too!

what it is, is an ...
what it is, is an example of the fundamental problem. They wont co-operate, they wont educate (because the physically CANT), and will over consume unless stopped by force. They are students at a so called higher end university. Its very telling.

drizel462 on 2010-05-14
exactly right my ...
exactly right my friend, those in charge are there by the illusion of power, we are the ones really in charge. Without us they have no wealth, no sway over us, no military backing even as we are the military. So it just takes enough of us who desire change to make it happen. Not even a single shot needs to be fired. We just need to educate people.

drizel462 on 2010-05-14
In the end its not ...
In the end its not the elites who are really in charge. We could make this change happen tomorrow if we really wanted to. They need us to stay in power. We run the country. We run the military. We control and use the resources. We develope the technology. All it takes is for us to say thats enough of this madness, we're going to do things our way.

"computer system ...
"computer system tottally impervious to its makers/programmers. every p.c system has a weakness, every programm a backdoor." Multiple redundant systems working as backup against corruption makes weaknesses of any one single program or machine irrelevant. If you manage to hack one machine or program you will quickly be reported upon by a hidden backup program you will rarely be entirely aware of. Biological systems like human beings are no match against a robustly designed system.
