I agree Gaary, I ...
I agree Gaary, I daresay in time in such a world people could begin to divert their instinct for personal advancement, ego stroking, glory fear etc; into a survival and good for all is good for me attitude. However this would not happen overnight. It would be a race between the growth of co operative attitudes, and egoistic. The overlap could pervert or destroy the project. There have been noble attempts in history which were perverted, or diverted. This force should never be underestimated.

More basic; work/ ...
More basic; work/energy is true human value, whether plain human energy or enhanced energy taken from nature. Whatever financiers banks etc; say or think. The only thing which makes things or services of real value is the expending of energy. All their paper, and asset shuffling is in the main parasitic.

Peter Joseph is an ...
Peter Joseph is an amazing person, the venus project is a wonderful concept and I would love to live in a society where money doesn't exist. I only hope that is the direction we are headed and that we don't destroy this planet before its too late

If we had a way to ...
If we had a way to produce enough resources for everyone on earth without money, then there really wouldn't be any power to gain. There's really no control over anyone in his theory. Everyone has everything they need so then they can concentrate on what they love doing, whatever it may be, I'm guessing of course.

I too have doubts ...
I too have doubts on the human nature issue. We have been competing since our ancestors sat in a row on a branch, and before for biological advancement reasons. Many people have problems finding common cause with any creature beyond their nearest family. I see it in the extended family situations in the area in which I live. That said; with the urgency, and gravity of the world environmental situation I say lets go for it, this is the best analysis, and project I have heard.Capitalism is death.

I am a full ...
I am a full supporter of these ideas, but when you consider the vanity, and the personal insecurity of many, would that not lead them to seek infiltrate the systems in some way to gain a position of power ?

KbcBerlin on 2012-04-13
Collecting, and ...
Collecting, and using energy is also the basis of life/biology. What life is.

:) Why not? It's ...
:) Why not? It's called decision tree (MAUT etc). It's done without human creed...

A resource based ...
A resource based economy is about getting rid of the occupations and institutions that no longer serve us, focusing on the things that are relevant to human beings, then trying to solve these REAL problems with technical solutions. Food, energy, and housing... produced with the most efficient systems available. This would be a logical, rational approach for managing our resources and environment. It'll happen in the future, if we survive our current system of greed, domination and endless wars.

If things shifted ...
If things shifted towards The Venus Project it would not be destructive. We are nearing, or passed, 7 billion people on this planet. I would go as far as to guess it is statistically impossible for there not to be a handful of people that want to do research and improve living standards for everyone. I know I would do it, but I want to do research right now to when I get older and get a PhD.

TheDeeSkii on 2012-03-23
TVP is not ...
TVP is not communism. Communism runs on government and money. With the TVP there would be no money and no government. In the center of each city is education and research. Where teachers can research, update technology and teach students. This education and research is open to EVERYONE.

Where are we going? ...
Where are we going? Nice question. I know where I'm going. Anywhere this Peter fellow and his followers aren't. If you all go left, I shall go right. And I'll try to take at least one person with me. I guess in the end, we'll have to see who chose the right path.

Yes, a computer is ...
Yes, a computer is 'better' than a human. Remember that computers are programmed by humans so can only do what humans tell them. The exception is that computers are never corrupt, liars or wrong. If a computer is any of these things it is human error. Also, computers can assess information given to it by many humans, all over the world, as opposed to us humans who can only consider the opinions immediately available without doing extensive and timely surveying.

mHalfLife on 2012-03-14
a computer? and ...
a computer? and you think thats better than humans? as george carlin said : garbage in, garbage out

mHalfLife on 2012-03-14
who decides what ...
who decides what resources are mined, when and where they go

IdealistWorld on 2012-03-14
If you had even ...
If you had even slightly looked into what TVP is about you would know that there would be no government. No person would hold a position of power over another.

Rofl. Compare ...
Rofl. Compare android with iphone, at least people won't take anything serious you say then and that is a good thing I think. Why don't trolls like you put at least some energy or thought into their stuff. On the other hand, I need to become less arrogant. Answering on your first comment and implying that I could imagening somebody that stupid really exists... well I guess I got what I deserved, well played sir.

mHalfLife on 2012-03-11
yes some people who ...
yes some people who discover things dont need money. it is an obstacle for their research for example copernicus. galileo. darwin. newton and so on. but for most of the inventions of todays world the motive is necessity. it isnt self fulfilment the telephone exists because people NEEDED to comunicate between great distances. so the state of everythings plenty so lets sit on the beach and drink something is absolutely destructive. africa vs europe. why are africans the slaves? not inverse

mHalfLife on 2012-03-11
if you think that ...
if you think that there would be android if there wasnt iphone, you are wrong and overall this venus project is communism there are a few at the top. the chosen ones. the technocrats. the elite, and the rest share whatever they are given Todays problem is government. Big government. it goes from being a servant to the master of people in a few years and theres no way to change that so fuck the venus project. poor brainwashed people.

Don't be absolute. ...
Don't be absolute. Technology companies hinder a fair competition by patent wars. Sure you wanna do the best you can, but as in any real competition you will start to understand that the greatest source of motivation is to beat yourself. The cell phone is a great example, you aren't allowed to improve the iphone - if a company can't crossliscence they have to pay royalties, thus increasing the monopoly and therefor stop progress, while killing the "additional motive".

mHalfLife on 2012-03-03
i absolutely am ...
i absolutely am against the competition view in this video. dont tell me im too much in this current system, i understand when competition can be bad. but the cell phone example is a bad example. competition provides additional motive and source of inspiration. improve on the competitors product...

who financed all ...
who financed all such movements in the past? same type of people financing them, buying their books and distributing them. the rich who control the earth and want to further control it is financing zeitgeist. and they want to further control and enslave humanity. please do wake up, evolve and start thinking before we and our children become their victims. MayaBell. com

itismepicasso on 2012-01-30
world working ...
world working together? new world order & control of humanity. this guy keeps working for atheists & fake humanists who do not believe in spirit world or gods. most beautiful animal is the wolf. without the wolves, none of us will be here. ok property is primitive, he keeps singing for the fascists & socialists. access to everything? most people won't share anything. human nature is not something that can be changed or controlled, they try but they can't. force is their plan. next is sacrifice.

itismepicasso on 2012-01-30
ok we ARE super ...
ok we ARE super computers, no computer ever made by humans will surpass GOD's creation. I can and any human can jam and reprogram any computer with their mind. we can, if we want to, bend the fabric of time and space. we are god's children, we are gods if we want to be and our DNA is not half developed yet. stop listening to people who are making mistake after mistake, and faulty inferences. this is the typical & consistant trait I noticed in all the films from same source & mistaken think tank.
