Like the concept ...
Like the concept but in reality is horribly laggy and unreliable. I tried using the backwards words demo and it flickered words over the image such that only about 30% of the words were translated at any given time. Translations often changed as they flickered. I used an iPod Touch 4G, which is theoretically supposed to be the fastest iPod Touch (though not as fast as the iPhone 4S or iPad 2/3)

Did you not even look at the video info? First line: link to app store page for video. As for your conspiracy theory bit about the video not lining up between teh cell phone and the live view, the cellphone is having to 1) take the image 2) scan it for text. 3) parse that text and see if it fits in the current language to translate settings 4) translate it 5) clear the old text from teh image and then 6) replace it with translated text. A little bit of screen lag is to be expected.

this is a concept video it does not exist the creators of the concept created this video & sold it to google. .it has classic tell tale signs of trying to convince the viewer that both images are the same. look close her finger placement, hair etc is not the same if you pause anywhere in video.. prove me wrong and show us a link to the working app. it does not exist

I think it makes pretty good sense.. no you shouldn't use it a business meeting, as it's most likely not perfect, but when walking around in town or wherever you might be going on a vacation or so, it could be very handy to get a general idea of whether a sign is saying "Warning! shooting range!" or simply "thanks for visiting".. basically simple everyday stuff where accurate grammar doesn't matter that much. ^^

Im sorry, its all nice and everything, but no one realized that those translations are shit?? really, better just ask someone rather than using that... i cant believe that people rely on that, and im not saying this simply cuz im a translator but, honestly... those phrases dont make sense at all in spanish. Advice: dont even try using them, you will sound completely stupid.
