If voting could ...
If voting could change anything for the better, voting would be illegal.

clean environment ...
clean environment is very important for our health and all species on the planet. We should care more about the environment and health care. visit: bell junkmail pollution

Yeah, if everybody ...
Yeah, if everybody eligible voted we could finally get rid of this Conservative/Liberal back and forth motion. I say its high time NDP got in, but for some reason those who called thenselves "Liberal" or Conservative" wont change... I'll vote for what helps Canada, not branding myself with a political name and voting one way my entire life. It just seems like a wasted vote, voting for somebody knowing they havn't a chance in hell.

and it is your choice to change for someone else. i cam from a country where we have had the same president for over 20 years. Over there i never voted cuz my vote don't count. the real question is now that my vote counts what am i going to do, the real question is what are you going to do

So, use your vote ...
So, use your vote and MAKE him pay attention, delia1985 is right. You have just as much say in the future of this country as these "old people" you're referring to. Make your voice heard. Only by participating in the conversation will your opinion count.

CAPTAIN CANADA the ...
CAPTAIN CANADA the reason you have low voter turnout is you vote to elect THE PARTY (LIB/CON) not in true FREE VOTE toward the candidate-&-party under Westminster 2 party system rules. Most modern democratic countries use Proportional Representation PR multi-party vote. THEY (PARLIAMENT) get to decide how and who leads country behind close doors. FAKE DEMOCRACY CANADA STYLE !!!! Expect Another coalition gov't with cheese on top (minority parliament-alliance etc.)

He's right, a lot ...
He's right, a lot of people living in the "free countries" force democracy on others but they themselves don't even care about their own democracy. A bunch of hypocrites...

kuryamtl on 2011-03-31
You can always ...
You can always spoil your ballot to mark it as a protest. That is much more effective(especially if done en masse) than just not bothering to go to the polling booth. They do keep track of that.

None of the Above!

MegaVesper04 on 2011-03-30
So you're saying ...
So you're saying because I don't choose one candidate out of the few provided I can't complain about politics. lol. My complaint is the lack of genuine candidates that don't sound false, phoney, and will say anything to get my vote but then never follow up with their promises. How has that been working out for you? Oh yeah, we are having yet another election. I have every right to complain about the incompetency in this country and about the lemmings who follow blindly.

musicbrain5 on 2011-03-30
If you don't vote, ...
If you don't vote, don't complain about what's happening with the politics of this country.

MegaVesper04 on 2011-03-30
they want my vote? ...
they want my vote? Well then give me somebody worth voting for. I don't not vote because I don't want to but because I have no confidence in any candidates being presented. This next election won't bring about any change just like the last one didn't either. It's an election of false promises and I am not falling for it again. I will not choose the lesser of these evils just because people want to make me feel obligated to choose one. Nothing will change.

MomSaysImCool on 2011-03-30
I like to think of ...
I like to think of voting as an opportunity to apply pressure on government rather than a time where you choose the govt. People like politicians who promise to do what's conventional, so you shouldn't expect anything different. Don't wait for a miracle, just voice your opinion. By the way, what was it about Elizabeth May that you found irksome? As far as I know she's never said anything tremendously loathsome.

SnakeBite27 on 2011-03-30
Problem is, I so ...
Problem is, I so desperatly want a politician or party worth voting for. Last election, I couldn't shake that dirty feeling of just voting for the lesser of two evils. I want a politician who has opinions and principals, not someone who caters their ideals to specific crowds.

delia1985 on 2011-03-30
You may think that ...
You may think that politicans have nothing to offer you personally--even though they do-- but how can you be so selfish to throw away the opportunity to help those less fortunate than you? the people who are in most need for assistance need our vote too. As Canadians, our best attritube is compassion, but it's hard to see that from voter turn out.

delia1985 on 2011-03-30
what are the real ...
what are the real issues? the issues they're tackling are very important to the people that are paying attention to them. You'd be surprised how receptive your local MP and MPP's are to your opinions and concerns. Politcians aren't doing this for nothing.

You can never find a perfect leader so vote for a better leader. Atleast let the democracy live.
