TVP will suffer due ...
TVP will suffer due to this split. Jacque is undoubtedly a great man, but ultimately too old. Roxanne may be well intentioned, but is an ineffective communicator, she's inarticulate and somewhat harsh in nature, she simply can not be the face and voice of TVP, if it is to move forward without TZM. This very thing is what causes democrats and republicans, liberals and conservatives. They've failed their own test.

Roxane seems to be saying you need to be a 'member' to use and advocate TVP material. Isn't this the very type of nonsense that both TVM and TVP are attempting to abolish? Party membership? 'Them' and 'us'? This split has done untold harm to what seems a common movement. Perhaps this illustrates that 'nature' has more influence than 'nurture', because this split is entirely ego driven and that's exactly what has landed us in the shit we currently find ourselves in. Roxanne seems to be divisive.

Sorry Rox, but all I hear in this radio broadcast is "We want, we want, we want." PJ and TZM is the major reason anyone knows about TVP at all. With all due respect to J.F. and yourself, if you had any skills in P.R. over the 30 years, TVP would have gained a great deal more attention and traction. But egos won't permit that. We (TVP and TZM) need to put our money where our mouth is. We can't tell the rest of the world "Just get along and share" when we don't model it for them. Sad, sad, sad. :(

From logical perspective, the PJ's TZM is the philosophy of a Resource Base System and the Venus Project is the implementation, design and practicality. if it weren´t for Zeitgeist I wouldn´t have any idea what Project Venus is. I think Peter Joseph did an amazing job getting the message across. I do not agree that ...
I do not agree that the ideas represented by TVP are a new world order that we should be threatened by, however, this does raise the question of how we stop totalitarian interests from co-opting it. Education would seem to be the best tool.

This (Venus Project/Zeitgeist Movement) is a conversation at this point. We may learn that some of the ideas presented thus far are unworkable. The appropriate course to take at that point is to adapt, and learn some more.

'(F)uture activism ...
'(F)uture activism under a different banner' is possible. These are ideas, and people working in good faith will run with good ideas and improve things. It is quite possible that the Venus Project's purpose was to lead us to where we are and go no further, and we will need other entities to carry us forward.

The idea of sustainability is not the propriety of The Venus Project. A Resource Based Economy is nothing more than an economic model based on sustainability. The Zeitgeist Movement is much more than that. It's about the realization that we live in very fucked up world and it's about the ATTITUDE of doing something about it. Also, I don't like the idea of ANYBODY leading "the direction". TZM is leaderless. YOU decide your own level of involvement. Ideas cannot be owned.

One more observation: Jacques Fresco and his ideas have been around for decades, but really hasn't been brought into main stream consciousness until TZM and its popularity. TVP would be well advised to ride that wave if they truly want a wide ranging exposure.

After listening to this, my most prevalent impression is that Roxanne does not want to collaborate with anyone, she wants CONTROL. I find that anti productive. Jacques may be brilliant, but why in the world would they not want to work WITH other scientists. She implies that all 'establishment' scientists have nothing to contribute. How can that be?

Nobody is talking about free handouts, we are talking a bout a free world! Free from money and the corruption it breeds. Public housing projects are little more than prisons, without guards built by corrupted politicians for the profit of corrupt businessmen. I'm sorry you think it is childish or naive to dream about and work towards a better world for everyone, but that won't stop me and many, many more people from doing so. No surprise there. Believing that eliminating money/giving everybody free handouts will turn them into peace-loving, non-greedy angelic beings, is VERY naive (and childish.) Look at Chicago's Cabrini Green, or any other big-city public housing project! (Come to think of it, Venus "Project" is a very apt metaphor... Jacque Fresco would "save the world" by turning it into a giant 1960s public housing boondoggle.)
