Amusingly, soldiers ...
Amusingly, soldiers coming home after World War 2 had the same problem. My father's told me of people he knew when he was younger that came back from the war where they had learned to speak German only to rapidly lose the ability when they got home. I assume from lack of use.

I used the In- ...
I used the In-Lingua course books and I took over the GCSE vocabulary list. I did the vocab first and then the grammar. I also watched the Deutsch Plus videos toget myself in the mood a week or so before I left for Germany! :)

Richard, the only mistake, I could make out was the pronunciation of the word: "Grammatik". Otherwise, this is superb! Very well done.

You lazy Brits ...
You lazy Brits should take an example of this countryman and learn a foreign language. We Germans learn English, French, Spanish and Russian. The French learn English, Spanish, German and Russian. Many Brits can't even speak their own language properly. Why is that? Imagine, you could sing the "ten German bombers song" in German! ;D

Wirklich ...
Wirklich beeindruckend. Ich finde das du keinen hörbaren Akzent hast. Nur die Art wie du dich ausdrückst ist nicht ganz so wir Deutschen es machen würden. Wenn du 1 bis 2 Jahre in Deutschland leben würdest könntest du ohne weiteres als Muttersprachler durchgehen. Es wird ja häufig behauptet das es ab einem gewissen Alter nicht mehr möglich ist eine Sprache so zu erlernen das man auf ein akzentfreies muttersprachliches Niveau kommt. Ich würde sagen das Leute wie du der Gegenbeweis dafür sind.

wow ich bin echt beeindruckt! du sprichst 16 sprachen perfekt und auch deutsch beherrscht du akzentfrei... derartige ausnahmetalente gibt es nicht oft auf der welt
