This is a Great ...
This is a Great Example of why i love Peter Joseph... Even though he is vastly intelligent, he can be speaking with complete morons that dont have a clue and be totally patient and courteous to their feelings... He usually dumbs down his vocabulary greatly just to be able to communicate with average joe...

"What did you ...
"What did you expect?" Very Good. Sometimes you need to be blunt and provocative to make people pay attention.

What is it that is ...
What is it that is obsolete? The scientific method is the best known method at solving problems. The germ theory of disease and nutritional science is well established medical theories that has been verified hundreds of times.

I think the Wall St ...
I think the Wall St. protestors have part of the problem correct. The one thing I disagree with their viewpoint is them wanting the government to take care of them, or to socialize things... It is this very government that lead us to this mess, so why trust them?

- reading or ...
- reading or watching something doesn't mean you "know" it. I'm not hinting anything. I'm telling you: no one knows the things you assume about intelligence and the nature of sacrifice. No one ever does. The heart is much more intuitive than the head, so you must fatten the head before you realize it must be cut off. So learn of the 10,000 things Grasshopper. They all return to the root from which they grew.

You've jumped from ...
You've jumped from a discussion about whether plants might consciously feel what humans call 'pain' or not, to cheeseburgers and an unsubstantiated accusation about how I'm disassociated from "how my own life is sustained". Are you hinting that I might be ignorant about the processes of production concerning the food I consume?

Root cause #1- the ...
Root cause #1- the distribution of wealth? money while representing goods ands services is hoarded amongst 10 percent of the population. We all see this chart in economics class in High School, we all dislike it, yet we all just sit around and accept it. This should be made clear as this is a more generalized problem that ties into the majority of financial depression amongst the rest of the population. and we should definately assist in the control of violence, eliminating its detriments.

pjamesbda on 2011-10-09
- what of YOUR ...
- what of YOUR survival mechanisms? How did they evolve? Ppl like you are so disassociated from how their own life is sustained, that any real perception of sacredness is lost. Instead it is empty and hollowed out. You think a cheeseburger pops out of some machine, because you never have to put your hands in blood and kill something to have it. There is nothing wrong with taking what we need. The sin is taking MORE than we need, and having lost the sacredness of it!

@pjamesbda It could just be a chemical reaction which is triggered without any conscious experience of the stimuli. In fact, I would argue that that is likely the case.
