Zeitgeist Day 2009 event in New York City Part 6 of 6

The last hour of the event was dedicated to the audience to ask questions to the team. I only could get the first few minutes as I ran out of memory. The answer to the last question as where the location for the Venus Project test city could be was any place that is open to the idea(Peter said he got a lot of interest from people in Venezuela) and also somebody mentioned a project in Mexico dubbed the Earth Ship: EarthShip.org. You may want to check that out as well. I should also point that Nano Sphere (Nano technology) was mentioned more than once during the presentation and you may want to look that up on Wikipedia or any source to further your information on how far we've got. Zeitgeist Movement event which took place on March 15th 2009 in NYC at the BMCC TRIBECA Performing Arts Center. This part shows Jacque Fresco the founder of The Venus Project along with Roxanne Meadows having a conversation with Peter Joseph on the Resource based economy and society. This movie has just some highlights of the event and for the full event video you should refer to http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2412549670594153152 Please note that the video is blurry at times but the audio is not affected.

I just have one ...
I just have one single question, other than that i'm all for a RBE. How do you allocate resouces without the pricing mechanism? How do you do the calculation in the computer to compare items and decide people's preferences?

Well, memes make up ...
Well, memes make up almost all of our ideas. So, how can you say you have a point of view to argue with when your ideas are not even yours? You only have picked up memes that work with other memes and have built an idea that you call yours. Which is really silly because its not.

what about memes

A new scientific ...
A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it - Max Planck - (Father of Quantum Mechanics)

I honestly feel ...
I honestly feel that before any of you start calling each other names and debating this, you all should study MEMEs. The argument will change to a productive one because all the BS will be taken out of the argument.

i think religion is ...
i think religion is the least of our concerns for the future, the most important point they make (zeitgeist) is that energy problem does have a very simple solution/solutions,technology is vital for solving a lot of our problems and the monetary system doesnt go side by side with evolution of society for many reasons(see the zeitgeist addendum).i think talking about religion, and he is this and that is irrelevant, all the facts are in front of us to make a decision

Ever heard of the ...
Ever heard of the Gnostics or the Quakers? You are an ignorant twit. You know nothing about the Christianities of old nor the diverse Christianities of present-day. You know nothing about History. You know nothing about Science. You are an uncritical, media-brainwashed, prejudiced motherfucker. I'm not gonna' waste my time with you anymore. -Jeff

Fresco offered an ...
Fresco offered an accurate portrayal of Catholicism. I'm quite sure Carlin wasn't influenced by Fresco. Carlin was raised Catholic. That's where he got his material. Fresco's understanding of religion is restricted to the present-day mainstream christianities, and some surface-deep trivia about a few eastern religions.

I was pointing out ...
I was pointing out that Fresco's understanding of Judeo-Christology runs about as deep as a George Carlin bit. He was straw-manning. I'm not sure what relevance A.I. has in regards to this, but whatever. Don't second-guess what I understand or am willing to accept. Explain the relevance of A.I.

Sometimes they are ...
Sometimes they are of vital importance yet other times they are.. unclear rather, wouldn't say incorrect, just blurry thoughts on the question. He is old and still does things or explains them in old ways. Which is not necissarily a bad thing. Sorry for the double comment, didnt have enough characters left to explain what I wanted to say.

gillesva51 on 2009-05-10
We have to ...
We have to understand that Fresco is not perfect. I have seen some footage where i got a bit aggravated because in some situations he seems to miss the point or essence of the question. The fact is that he's a 92 year old man and like the rest of us, a product of society made throughout his entire life. Have you noticed that JF nearly always explains something by giving an example of a situation in the past.

gillesva51 on 2009-05-10
well the fact is ...
well the fact is that every emotion is triggered by hormones or substances in your brain. first of all a computer at this stage is not biological thus they are not able to respond on chemical reactions caused by these substances causing then emotions. so even if they had consciousness they wouldn't react to situational circumstances the same way but in a logical way. and by all means murder pain and being inequal is not logical. So i'm not really concerned about this issue

Zeitgeist = jewish talking about what they 've done so far , bullshits about world which they allready fucked her

WhoisJacqueFresco on 2009-04-14
Yes, the question ...
Yes, the question is how can computers have emotions? All they do is calculate. They do not have hate or envy. Ignorance of science is manifisting your fears of AI.

Duh... if God ...
Duh... if God exists, then why does he allow bad things to happen... duh... That's like asking "If a boeing 757 didn't hit the Pentagon, then where is it?". This guy needs to google the phrase "logical fallacy", and spend some time READING for a change. ...instead of pretending to be smart, recycling tired old cliches.

wow so smart peter, jacques and roxanne, hate th say the people asked stupid questions, but its like they came in with the thought they are gonna ask this question and shut off there brain for the whole show then turned it on again during the q and a?

dkiavoloui on 2009-03-27
I don't think we ...
I don't think we should view any question as idiotic. People are affected by different types of environment, so I think there are many people will the same question - especially after movies like Terminator! And this is in line with the principle of the movement - words like idiots have no meaning anymore if they are product of the environment.

exactly how i feel ...
exactly how i feel stelerscyth, really what i think will become an issue is that this society is major advances in science and AI is very real and will be advanced along with everything else. So ther will inevitably be debate on whether its well humane i guess to create a being that is self aware, thus capable of corruption in the means of self interest and capable of interfacing with the technology that helps us live like bots in hospitals, crop growing machines etc. "if those laptops had AI"

"smash 1 laptop in front of 50 others, and none of them would care" lol best answer ever!!
