using energy as ...
using energy as money makes absolutely no sense. According to their site a person = 100 watts in energy cost. so that means driving a car (which is about 50 kilowatts) for an hour would cost the same as hiring 500 people for an hour! does that make sense to you? the cost of anything is the amount of labor time it takes to produce plus the labor time of all its inputs.

When you have a ...
When you have a machine which takes electricity to produce something, you don't pay the creators of the machine every time you use it. Human beings also need energy in order to work. I am suggesting that you check into eoslife.eu for a more comprehensive image of energy accounting.

@Holisticism1 and i ...
@Holisticism1 and i worked briefly at brown brothers harriman which is one of the top investment banking firms which gave me actual real world experience in economics

@Holisticism1 uva ...
@Holisticism1 uva grad in business. although i dont have a masters in economics, the biz degree requires graduate level courses in economics. virginia is one of the best biz schools in the country, so on the economics end u actually worked with people at the fed banks.

@Holisticism1 ive ...
@Holisticism1 ive known jacque longer than peter joseph. i know more about an RBE than just about everyone u will find in TZM. i have a real education in economics and owned a manufacturing company. i think the problem is that u misunderstand what TVP is about and r not open minded enough to wanna better ur understanding.

@Holisticism1 right ...
@Holisticism1 right, my luxurious items r not at all necessary. but we live in a wealthy era. so i want luxurious versions of everything. r u saying that the necessities will no longer be luxurious? u have to ration everything. people want the best of everything.
kajmobile on 2011-03-24
@Holisticism1 " ...
@Holisticism1 "There should be no reason why we wouldn't want our life ground necessities and their production processes to be optimized and provided in abundance." we already do that for everything we produce, not just "life ground necessities."
kajmobile on 2011-03-24
@Holisticism1 " ...
@Holisticism1 "economic calculation really only applies to luxury items" everything is a luxury item. i live in a luxury home, drive a luxury car, eat luxurious meals in luxurious restaurants, wear luxurious clothes, use only the best medical tech, have luxurious furniture. everything needs to be rationed. and people need their own money so they can make their own rationing decisions. and also, with their dollar vote every consumer should have the power in deciding whats produced and whats not
kajmobile on 2011-03-24
@Holisticism1 " ...
@Holisticism1 "Consumers would still be the ones deciding what to produce." No they wont! they have taken away their democratic vote and dollar vote. According to TVP's spokesman, consumers r too stupid. instead, the venus plan will decide what is produced and what is not. view this again if u think consumers or voters decide: watch?v=2kstRutXboM if i dont have my own money to do my own rationing, someone else will be doing that rationing for me! that is y they wanna eliminate money.

@Holisticism1 watch ...
@Holisticism1 watch The Engineer's Plot in the documentary Pandora's Box. It is a BBC documentary of the soviet union's economic system. you will see they had the same exact goal as TVP. they believed all problems in society are technical and that if the economy was run by engineers instead of capitalists they could provide for everyone and completely change the culture of society. but what u wind up with is an unresponsive, stagnating bureaucracy with little innovation

@Holisticism1 "He ...
@Holisticism1 "He is promoting science itself." We already use science throughout our entire economy! The only thing he is advocating is that the allocation be done by scientists. but that doesnt make the economy more scientific. i would rather have consumers decide how resources should be allocated instead of a dictatorship of unelected scientists who centrally plan everything. that appeals to me as a scientist. but it has been tried and failed.

@Holisticism1 he ...
@Holisticism1 he seems like a smart, talented guy. it is too bad he is wasting his talents on promoting conspiracy theories and economic theories entirely contradicted by all the scientific evidence and telling people to drop out of the system which will accomplish nothing instead of doing the hard work of political change.
kajmobile on 2011-03-23
@Holisticism1 " ...
@Holisticism1 "First of all, "angry xylophone player", that was a funny comment." the kid goes to college for drums which is not going to lead to a job when you graduate and then gets a job as a day trader which is not really a job, it is like gambling on horses. he made some really, really bad decisions. those decisions will not lead u to steady employment or any kind of decent career. so i can see how he would become angry at the economic system. but his decisions r at fault not society.
kajmobile on 2011-03-23
@Holisticism1 "when ...
@Holisticism1 "when an abundance exists, economic calculation (at least in the form of prices) is not necessary" the only way economic calculation will become unnecessary is when the price of everything gets close to zero which means we can meet 100% of what people want to consume when they have an unlimited budget and it requires no labor to produce and distribute all of it. i dont think that will ever happen. it certainly wont happen in our lifetime.

@Holisticism1 my ...
@Holisticism1 my purpose is to point out how ridiculous and unfeasible TVP is, to discuss social issues, to show people sane alternatives, to kill some of my free time.
kajmobile on 2011-03-22
@Holisticism1 i ...
@Holisticism1 i would rather live in a Just society were I have the Right, backed by Law, to the time and resources to pursue my own individual happiness. i want the power to decide what goods and services i get and what kind of lifestyle i live. i dont want jacque's venus project deciding for me (like his idea of banning ornaments in architecture because it is inefficient).
kajmobile on 2011-03-22
@Holisticism1 ...
@Holisticism1 austrian economics is an obscure, fringe bunch of theories mostly advocated by a bunch of racists at the mises institute. the primary problem in this world is poverty caused by wealth inequality. i want a society where everyone is financially independent, where everyone is wealthy, as a birthright. view DemandTheGoodLife. com for one way to make that happen
kajmobile on 2011-03-22
@Holisticism1 "I ...
@Holisticism1 "I think the wealth issue is debatable" Come on you cannot be serious! You think the fact that we are 1000+ times wealthier than hunter/gatherers is debatable!?!? "Either we make a conscious change to live within our means, or the environment will do it for us." And you believe in doom scenarios too? lol. We live with a fraction of the wealth we could have. We will be far wealthier in the future, not poorer. but what does any of this have to do with a mises textbook or TVP?
