Yes, I was. I just didn't know it yet! ;)

.Without the brain ...
.Without the brain and the nervous system there is no consciousness, no sensation, no perception, and no mental formations. On the other hand, we cannot imagine the body to function without the mind. The body and the mind depend on each other, the five skandhas depend on each other. We must conclude that none of the skandhas is fundamental. Body, sensations, perceptions, mental formations, and consciousness are interrelated., experiences are conditioned by the interplay of multiple phenomena. r.

What is right and ...
What is right and what is wrong is within each and everyone of us. Some just refuse or are to scared to listen. Things ARE changing, thats for sure, but the outcome of the change is up to ALL of us!

Diamond Sutra: "All ...
Diamond Sutra: "All the world's phenomena and ideas are unreal, like a dream. All the world's phenomena and ideas are impermanent, like a water bubble, like dew and lightning. Thus should one observe and realize, all the world's phenomena and ideas". Amitabha

I think the use of ...
I think the use of semantics as evidence for or against philosophical arguments is a slippery slope- I think when you talk about these things that are necessarily human, you have to go way back and try to imagine how and why these things developed. I think you'll find that things like consciousness, values, morals, etc, were all the bi-products of this new animal called "human"- they were to guard his safety and eventually his ego

I know its a ...
I know its a fallacy that evolution has a "goal" of sorts, but it truly appears that evolution's direction strongly tends toward a stronger conscious state. It could be a coincidence, or even have a scientific explanation (i.e. stronger consciousness/intelligence begets stronger survival trait) but I've always wondered if the cosmos itself is inclined toward evolution toward this state.

@Kostly: I agree ...
@Kostly: I agree with you on this. My own personal view is that consciousness is a fundamental unit, and the brain is merely correlated with our experience here. This view can satisfy every correlation observed between mind and brain, and does not fall on its face when it tries to explain the more difficult neurological mysteries that seem to fly in the face of materialism. Such as terminal lucidity, severe hydrocephalus, veridical perception during NDEs, etc...

What do you think ...
What do you think about it? Can a particle exist as a particle AND a wave but, only as a particle if we pin it to a certain point in time/space with the proper instrumentation? Is it just that the intstrument "observes" it in a sort of stasis and it's actually a wave of energy fluctuation all of the time? It's a difficult question, but, my gut tells me all subatomic particles are a wave and that function never "collapses".

Kostly on 2012-01-25
Yup. And that is ...
Yup. And that is pretty fucking abominable if you ask me. Seeing as how it's the TOTALITY of our experience, I would think it would be high on the list of priorities. If we truly understand consciousness, no matter how difficult it might be, then we would know what is possible with our consciousness. The objective materialist movement have very solid foundation for their arguments. But, when it comes to consciousness, like you say, the only way is ignorance of it. Makes me angry.

Kostly on 2012-01-25
Right, because that ...
Right, because that is how science figures out most other things; taking it apart or examining it down to it's smallest constituents. Deduction doesn't work with consciousness in FULLY explaining it. Look up the "hard problem of consciousness" to understand this. Science would LOVE to simply ignore that problem because it's as it's described; HARD or very very difficult to answer sufficiently.

"All creation are ...
"All creation are from our mind."It like you are dreaming. In the dream you see many of object, e.g. mountain, river, people (some people you know or some you don't) all surrounding in your "dream" is make it by yourself.So, it is all part of you and you make them so real, even your feeling in your dream are so real. Sometime you will cry or laugh until you woke up. Who created that "dream"?You and your "dream" are one.Everything inside the "dream" is part of you and you created your "dream".

Everything are ...
Everything are created by our subconsciousness mind (our intention) so the universe. That was Budda teach us three thousand years ago. We are all affected by the nature law which is cause by the conditional causation. (cause and affect) . All things created under the conditional causation and have a boundry. To leave out from the boundry. You must need to fully understand the law of nature how to run. A Mi Ta Fu!

@mustbeburtreynolds ...
@mustbeburtreynolds... Oh yes they do think... The entire Universe is a collective thought and every thing, living or dying adds to or deducts from thought processess. Please do not mistake awareness for consciousness; these are seperate - deducable - elements.

mustbeburtreynolds on 2011-11-24
They're conscious ...
They're conscious on a fully different level. They don't "think". They operate as an efficient, harmonious group, together as a garden, or as a forest, etc.

We as conscious ...
We as conscious beings have the opportunity to become aware of the truth of Life by way of reason, attention, and honest intention. Let us consciously evolve past deception, division, and temptation. Let us seek Truth, so that we may live united, in harmony with Life's infinite presence. Search for "Truth Contest" in google and click the first result, then click on The Present and read what it says.
