Yea. Not even ...
Yea. Not even necessarily re-education, but just further education. Everything they've learned up to now isn't necessarily wrong, but they need to start understanding why and how they've learned what they learned and determine what it means in terms of a bigger picture to get to the next level. When you tell people they've been wrong their whole life you'll lose them. I can't get rid of my jealousy and certain emotions, but understanding it makes it a hole lot easier to manage.

Its not a utopian ...
Its not a utopian society. You have to take into account that Jacque is in his 90-ies and that for the most part, the answers lie in the ideas. He provided a guideline and probably doesn't have all the answers. However, at the same time, he DOES have answers and it might have been due to his age why he hadn't mentioned it, but 'education' would be key to a new way of thinking. Exposing people to new ideas based in science and then encourage them to make the dots.

Jacque and Roxanne ...
Jacque and Roxanne definitely need a better spokesman who can stick to a specific subject. I applaud them for their ideas, and some of those ideas can give an answer all unto themselves... however, a lot of people need a 'direct' response because they have a hard time 'connecting the dots' as it were from the ideas. I think they need to lay out these questions/answers with their spokesperson better in order to directly answer questions in future interviews. Plus Jaque is quite old.

I try to approach ...
I try to approach life and emotional situations in a rational capacity. It IS possible btw. To that end, if I invested my emotions into a partner, and we were in a 'monogamous' relationship (whatever that means), I would ask him why did he do that. Then I would ask him whether he still wants to be with me. If yes, we can work things out. To some it may seem 'too perfect' - lol, its not. I would probably still feel hurt, but I would try to approach a situation from a problem solving view.
deksman on 2012-04-30
... to that end, ...
... to that end, Chalmers for example made an extreme assumption that a guy would kill his partner because he/she 'cheated'. Ok, this kind of situation happens today rarely and is an extreme example which is directly tied to people's background and how they were raised to think. To that end, majority of others would simply break things up if they have vested their emotions into another person. Sure, they could get hurt, but killing? Unlikely.

Once people get ...
Once people get educated on those subjects, they will probably start questioning the so called 'old ways'. Also, children and adults alike would be educated/encouraged not to make assumptions about those who they don't know. Jacque nicely illustrated the problem with making assumptions about those you don't know. As for love, cheating, etc... again, different ways of thinking. The point would be to educate that people effectively change with time - and as such, their feelings do too

Agreed. I think ...
Agreed. I think that what needs to be said is that the key to affecting people's behavior is in 're-education' of how people think (before and during the transition). Educate them that all their perceptions of 'human nature' are effectively false and that all the hangups, jealousy, sexual inhibition, disliking people who are 'different' (and similar notions) effectively stem from how the individual culture/system/nation raised them (and exposed them to THEIR ways of thinking).

I agree, they have ...
I agree, they have so much information they want to put out sometimes they fall off topic. They should work on answering a little more directly.

See how bloody long ...
See how bloody long it took to lay one point to rest about control. I hate to say it really, but this IS utopian in the sense that they completely avoid the issue of the transition and how we make it to this egalitarian society. The real world to deal with now is almost completely neglected in this interview.

It is a system of ...
It is a system of solving problems, not a system of government.
Spyrit2011 on 2011-11-24
If, for example you ...
If, for example you break your eye glasses, you don't take it to a group to vote on what to do with your broken eyewear, you take it to an eye doctor to have them fixxed. Same principle applies to TVP. If the people need a sustainable energy source for their community, they take it to someone to survey the area to find the most abundant resource available to that said area, lets say solar was the best for that area, then production handles producing solar panals. Then the problem is solved.
Spyrit2011 on 2011-11-24
I never knew ...
I never knew autonomy is such a hard concept to grasp. It's called collabartion, problems would be presented, by the people. They take a specific problem to someone with experince in that field to solve that problem. No central government (or middle man) is neccessary. How a descision is arrived at, of what problems need to be addressed, is based on the needs of each individual person.

I haven't been ...
I haven't been attacked by my oven by I wouldn't give it the power to rule my life. What happens if I refuse to execute the commands of the supercomputer? Explain to me exactly how would the supercomputer work, how would it decide what to do? My pc can't decide for itself, I have to give the input using the mouse and the keyboard.
KYRIAKARAS on 2011-10-27
THEY WILL GOVERN ...
THEY WILL GOVERN THEMSELVES CAUSE THEY WILL BE THE ONLY ONES PARTICIPATING.HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ATTACKED BY YOUR CAR-OVEN-TV-PC OR YOUR XBOX? NO,SAME THING WITH THE SUPERCOMPUTER. I AND MANY OTHERS DO NOT VOTE,I DO NOT FEEL THE NEED FOR SOMEONE MAKING DECISIONS FOR ME AND I DO NOT TRUST THAT KIND OF SYSTEM.IF YOU DIDN'T VOTE I WOULD HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF MAKING YOU UNDERTAND THAT.
erasmusso on 2011-10-27
So at the beginning ...
So at the beginning the wealthy who invested their money will govern and after that a supercomputer will rule humanity??? And what if that supercomputer starts killing people? Yes, I vote.
KYRIAKARAS on 2011-10-26
AT THE BEGINING OF ...
AT THE BEGINING OF THE PROJECT EVERY DECISION WILL BE MADE THROUGH SURVEY AND CONCLUDE TO THE BEST TECHNICAL SOLUTION.THEY WILL BE PEOPLE THAT HAVE INVESTED THEIR OWN MONEY FOR A BETTER COMMUNITY FOR THEMSELVES.AT THE END OF THIS LOCAL TO LOCAL PROGRESS,WHEN IT WILL BE GLOBAL THE DECISIONS WILL BE MADE BY A SUPERCOMPUTER.IT WILL GATHER DATA FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD ABOUT THE RESOURCES AND IT WILL DELIVER NECCECITIES WHERE NEEDED.I ALSO HAVE A QUESTION. DO YOU GO TO VOTE AT ELECTIONS?
erasmusso on 2011-10-26
Ok, the same ...
Ok, the same question Theo asks: who's in charge? Who decides what and how to do things?
KYRIAKARAS on 2011-10-26
TELL ME WHAT PART ...
TELL ME WHAT PART YOU DIDN'T UNDERSTAND AND I SHALL TO GET TO THE POINT OF IT
GlennLSmith on 2011-10-13
Exactly what i was ...
Exactly what i was thinking whilst watching this. Jacque has so much to say the original questions get lost within the mass of ideas he is trying to explain. If anyone really wants to know the real way this society would work don't take this interview as the explanation. Do your research. Resource Based Economy The Venus Project The Zeitgeist Movement All great places to start

Jacque and Roxanne ...
Jacque and Roxanne need spokespeople.. it's important. Very important. They seem jaded and rushed, which deters young and closed minds to opening up to them.
Snaking on 2011-09-14
I'm watching this ...
I'm watching this and I'm so frustrated. Jacque and Roxanne explain how things work but people need direct answers to understand new ideas. The answer to the question he keeps asking is "needs". Decisions are made by experts for your needs. If there's a need to build a bridge, engineers will build a bridge. If statistics show that people need an hospital near that area, they build it. That's how decisions are made. "We don't make decisions. We arrive at them".
erasmusso on 2011-09-03
Btw, I'm a member ...
Btw, I'm a member of the Zeitgeist movement and I'm not criticizing his ideas, they're great, I'm just trying to understand them better.
erasmusso on 2011-09-03
I watched every ...
I watched every movie about the venus project and zeitgeist that I found on the internet and I agree with them - to some extent. Jacque almost always talks in parables and he loves to talk about his experiences, and that's ok, his futuristic ideas should be presented in a visual way, but he usually also wanders off talking about things that are hardly related to the initial topic he was discussing. When asked to, I wish he gave clear straight-to-the-point answers like Peter.
CocoonSoon on 2011-09-03
Eh Jacque who's in ...
Eh Jacque who's in charge??? Blind Ideology is fascist by nature whether its intentional or not. These people are insane. If the money system does collapse, it wont be the venus project that will inspire the masses. It will be a natural evolution of human consciousness that will keep us flowing through space and time not the technical fantasies of manipulative people. Replace a system with another system! Fuck OFF!
