I respect your view ...
I respect your view but remind you that until not too long ago dignity wasn't an inherently human concept (shipping millions of people from Africa to North America to exploit them there was accepted by many). My hope is that eventually animal slavery will be abolished just like human slavery. I never said that animals need all the human rights by the way. For instance, they surely need no right guaranteeing free choice of occupation. For their right to be free from pain I will fight though.

Sorry, but I won't buy into the animals need equal to human rights concept. I will agree there is animal cruelty and I'm against that, but when people start saying animals need rights that are equal to or above human rights then that's where I draw the line. Dignity is a human concept that people only know about not animals.

The whole animal cruelty discussion is not just about the way animals are killed. When an animal kills another one in the wild, the killed animal has been able to live in freedom. Humans however deny billions of animals each year a self-determined life. There is much more suffering within the months preceding the murder than within the few hours immediately preceding it. Humans won't grant the imprisoned animals any degree of dignity, this is the actual crime.

I skipped up to 4:10 and not even a minute in this vid I can tell this guy is a quack. Animals aren't above or equal to the human race. Animals eat each other all the time, in far more cruel ways than in how people kill them for food. For example, you can search youtube and find pelicans swallowing pigeons alive, is this quack going to go up to the pelican and tell it's wrong for doing so? Sorry but I'm not wasting an hour of my time on such nonsence.

That answer is not good enough, and you know that. By your answer we can se that not soul matter, what matter is you see them suffer, and thats why is not OK to kill animals, but is OK to kill plants. And you judge what is right according to how much animals suffer and on the basis of things that you notice. I think it's rather superficial thinking. But I agree, that using a lot of animal products is unhealthy. I think the key is in finding perfect balance between animal food, and vegetables.

We know it - from shamans and others. Also there are several scientific researches about it. But other than that: Can you hear it screaming, bleeding and the suffering in the eyes? Well I can't. It's dictated by the nature, that our food are plants - that's why they are not only healthy, but heeling as well - just like animal products are very unhealthy! - And, when you cut of a tree branch - it does not matter - you can put another branch and it'll grow on it. Although I'm a meat eater, I really think he's right in general and his speech made me reconsider my attitude to a point. But he also made some quite ignorant and obviously wrong statements, like that humans are completely and solely constructed as herbivores by nature. That's just not true for the modern human. He talks and argues a little bit like a fanatic, but definitely for a good cause. I hope, in some decades or centuries, all people will think like him in this matter.

Aha... I would like to see EVERYONE who eats meat has to HUNT DOWN, KILL and slaughter at least one animal - alone! I'd be surprised how many of them will still eat meat after that... I mean, people don't even KNOW what this all means.. I remember back when I was a meat-eater.. if I had to think about that (where the meat comes from) I was turning my thoughts immediately... so I guess, if I had been confronted with that matter, I had become vegetarian...
