There was another ...
There was another issue that Carl noted in this series of episodes: The issue that we should find a way to pay people not to work, because technology will be a slave to us. Can anybody else recall it?

I dont agree on it ...
I dont agree on it being aired on an international scale. It should be beamed into the stars, loaded onto space probes and shot into the hearts of far-off galaxies that one day, some alien race might find it and conclude that the extinct race of man, who senselessly wiped themselves out millennia ago, wasn't so bad after all.

we humans long to ...
we humans long to be connected with our origins, so we create rituals. science is another way to express this longing, it also connects us with our origins. and it too has it's rituals and it's commandments. ... it's only sacred truth is that there are no sacred truths. all asumtions must be critically examined, arguments from authority are worthless. whatever is inconsistent with the facts, no matter how fond of it we are, must be discarded or revised.

@Dorkus89Malorkus: ...
@Dorkus89Malorkus: You may want to look up the advances of civilization in China by the 15th century. Remarkable as Europe was, you'll find pretty astounding superiority to Europe there right up until the mid-eighteenth century - which is roughly speaking the point where the west starts to overtake.
