As much as I know ...
As much as I know they want to do something like a park to see how it might look and work but the problem remains that it's just a city. And as I said a computer driven city just sounds like external control to me...but well yes it's better if you do something than nothing I also try to come up with ideas for making a better system but something like that takes some serious time.

Just like Jacque Fresco said, "we can't just put a bunch of people in the city", people first have to realize what we are talking about, and by the way, I think that the first city will be for the activists, but that is just an idea. Anyway, complaining and saying "it won't work" won't change anything. So, like Jacque said, if I want a better world, I'll get up of my ass and make it better ;3

hm yea Jaque wants to build something but seriously a city won't change a political system just the way you live. Some of those electronic ideas can really get twisted like some other people claim Zeitgeist was NWO probaganda....everything controlled by computers sounds to me like that too. Especially since that movement is fixed on getting new technology but not on real change. Such technology would definitely be needed if you wanted to control all the people that should be fact.

Well, I am not going to argue about people being "extremist", but, one of the basic ideals is to prove your point. Nevertheless the zeitgeist movement and the venus project are trying to follow the scientific method. Hence, they will start with a small city, it will be like a research center. So don't worry. Even if there are zeigeist "extremist", they will be there in that city looking at the observation and how everything progresses. Do not think that they don't have a plan.

Some people seem to act like this even though the movies also state that TVP is just ONE approach & open for discussions (= open for new ideas & constructive criticism). Even the first movie ended like "think yourself" but people rather follow unfinished ideas. It's like the Bible - I bet it wasn't finished either so interpretations need to be made. Now they split into Christians, Jews, Moslems & thousands of other groups fighting each other. Following unfinished ideas blindly is dangerous.

SOME actually seem to be yes. They are like Christians believing in their Zeitgeist solutions only. They handle those movies like a Bible. Those ideas aren't even 100% thought through yet but some Zeitgeist followers block out if criticism is made. As if Fresco was some messiahs having the one & only solution. I think people like this are one of the reasons why Zeitgeist parted from the Venus Project & that it was officially announced that critics are welcome. (what should have been natural)

Look at the labs, the equipment and the talented students. Step outside of the econ. department for a change.
