Outlaw Occupy: US set to strangle protests with jail threats
New York City police are investigating death threats made against staff through the phone and on twitter. This after officers forcibly arrested more than 70 people during an Occupy Wall Street protest. Since the start of the movement, nationwide protests have faced numerous cases of police brutality with batons and tear gas often used to disperse crowds. As the movement continues, so too does Washington's desire to silence the American public, as RT's Marina Portnaya explains. RT on Twitter twitter.com RT on Facebook www.facebook.com

Occupy miami raided by swat

Occupy Miami raided by SWAT
Dozens of SWAT officers broke into the Occupy Miami safehouse on March 13 after an alleged terrorist alert, which turned out to be fake. Policemen in flack jackets were searching for guns and explosives, according to those that witnesses the event. The cops pointed their guns even at the children who were there, some say. Several members of the group were taken away for an interview and placed in separate locations, and the Miami Police Department is for now staying tight lipped on the incident. Occupy Miami is a peaceful movement that moved to the building after they were evicted from their encampment at the city's Government Center six weeks ago. Activists occupy aipac with message to congress: no war on iran

Activists Occupy AIPAC with message to Congress: No War On Iran
***Take Action: Tell Congress and Obama: No War On Iran! Sign the petition at www.occupyaipac.org*** An AIPAC Policy Conference panel titled "Stopping Iran" had some unexpected speakers: activists with Occupy AIPAC and CODEPINK who stood up and "mic checked" Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Israeli Ambassador Jeremy Issacharoff. At about 2pm on March 5, four activists called out AIPAC for pushing for American support for an Israeli attack on Iran. One activist was violently attacked by an AIPAC member who used his tie to strangle the peaceful protester. Later in the afternoon two activists unfurled a "Don't Bomb Iran" banner inside the AIPAC hall. Security promptly pushed them out of the hall, and also forcefully removed an AIPAC delegate who had nothing to do with the action, but was taken out for being a bystander. The full People's Microphone inside the panel said: "Mic check! Ros-Lehtinen is pushing war based on lies. We are the 99% Wars benefit the 1% Don't bomb Iran! Diplomacy not bombs. AIPAC supports endless war. We support peace. Occupy Wall Street not Iran. Occupy Wall Street not Palestine. No war on Iran." The Occupy AIPAC coalition is gathering to urge Obama to reject the Israeli administration's push for war on Iran and insist on respect for Palestinian rights. Timed to coincide with the annual AIPAC policy conference from March 3-6, Occupy AIPAC aims to draw attention to the dangerous role of AIPAC as a special interest lobby that maintains a ...

Police arrest 73 in occupy wall street crackdown as protesters mark six months of uprising

Police Arrest 73 in Occupy Wall Street Crackdown As Protesters Mark Six Months of Uprising
democracynow.org - Michael Moore led hundreds of people from the Left Forum conference to Zuccotti Park on Saturday where hundreds had gathered to re-occupy the park to mark six months since the launch of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which began last September and launched protests around the world that gave voice to "the 99 percent." That night, New York City police officers cleared the park making at least 73 arrests. Many people reported excessive use of force by officers, several cases were caught on camera. In one widely reported incident, a young woman suffered a seizure after she was pulled from the crowd and arrested. Witnesses say police initially ignored Cecily McMillan as she flopped about on the sidewalk with her hands zip-tied behind her back, but she was eventually taken away in an ambulance. Occupy oakland january 28, 2012 - police brutality

Occupy Oakland January 28, 2012 - Police Brutality
EDIT: SEE THE VIDEO RESPONSE BELOW POSTED BY MY USERNAME TO SEE AN EXTENDED VERSION OF THE FIRST TEAR-GASSING. My camera was continuously rolling, I missed some things but got a lot. I edited it down to try and show all that is necessary to see. The action to take the Henry J Kaiser building started peaceful. The police diverted our route but the march continued toward the building. A fence was torn down in an attempt to take the building and the police fired tear gas. I did not leave out parts where protesters threw things (including the tear gas canisters that were fired upon them). The point was that the police responded with violence to the destruction of a fence. The protesters naturally reacted to this. Since the ability to take the building was stopped by the police, the march moved on (there was chatter of taking other buildings or approaching the building from the other side. I am not clear as to what the plan was). The police stopped the march in its tracks. I was filming the two sides in between them and had the first flash bang grenade shot at me which can be seen exploding at my feet in the video. It put me into a state of shock basically and I was pretty jumpy filming the rest (not to mention all of the tear gas I was breathing). The police responded with violence first in this standoff again. Rubber bullets, tear gas, smoke bombs and flash bang grenades were shot, the protesters retreated. Then the protesters approached again and the process basically ...

EMERGENCY BULLETIN: AIPAC, You will not escape our wrath. Follow: twitter.com/theanonmessage TRANSCRIPT ______________ Citizens of the World. We are Anonymous. Just a few weeks ago, we declared our crusade against the government of Israel and all supporting counterparts for their involvement in war propoganda, crimes against humanity, and the systematic genocide and expulsion of minorities. Their crimes have resulted in the displacement of Palestinians who did not commit any crime but defend their homelands. Let's also not forget the USS Liberty incident where Israel killed 34 American servicemen. Now, AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee wants to lobby for more wars, more destruction, more deaths than they already have committed and unfortunately, our president has decided to defend them for it. Our government's foreign policy has no sovereignty to America. It's sovereignty is to the state of Israel. AIPAC is now our enemy. We're calling for an occupation of AIPAC and the destruction of their websites. Make them pay for their crimes. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We must certainly not forget. Riot police violently disperse occupy dc with batons

Riot police violently disperse Occupy DC with batons
National Park Service police began slowly dismantling the Occupy DC encampment at McPherson Square on K Street early Saturday morning. Over the course of several hours, cops asked protesters to leave while authorities in hazmat suits combed the park and removed tents. Despite protesters insisting that the temporary structures were in compliance with the latest regulations imposed on the demonstrators, the cops continued to clear out the park throughout the course of the day. With only a small section of McPherson still spared by late afternoon, authorities eventually moved in and used force to clear the rest of the park. Protesters, passersby and journalists alike were assaulted as cops clad in riot gear stormed into the crowd and attacked anyone on the scene. Here cops are showing forcing a group of people out of the park with plastic shields and batons, only for them to fall into the mud and be crammed into a fence that prevented them from easily vacating the premises. Several arrests were reported, including one photojournalist, and many others were injured in the raid, including one RT cameraman.

Cpac 2012: occupy protesters & anti-gay activists

CPAC 2012: Occupy Protesters & Anti-gay Activists
"The Occupy movement, if it weren't so dangerous to the American ideal, would be comical," says John Thompson, a Rick Santorum supporter who attended The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which kicked off in Washington, DC on Thursday, February 9th, 2012. CPAC is the premier annual gathering of the conservative movement, but this year not all the action was inside the convention center. Occupy DC was joined by the AFL-CIO, SEIU, National Nurses United, Metro Labor Council, and OurDC for a demonstration right outside. The group says it was protesting a "gathering of bigots, media mouthpieces, corrupt politicians, and their 1 percent elite puppet masters." Reason's Lucy Steigerwald was on hand to see what all the fuss was about. Produced by Jim Epstein, with help from Joshua Swain and Julie Ershad. Approximately 4.30 minutes. Peter Schiff Speaks for 1 Percent at Occupy Wall Street
Last week, Reason.tv followed investment guru, radio show host, and unflappable defender of capitalism Peter Schiff as he spent three hours among the Occupy Wall Street protesters in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park. An unapologetic member of "the 1 Percent," Schiff argued with all comers for the better part of an afternoon. Schiff is no ordinary observer. As the prinicipal of the financial firm Euro Pacific Capital, he's a full-fledged and unapologetic member of "the 1 Percent." As an outspoken radio show host and commentator, he not only predicted the housing crash and financial crisis, he railed bank and auto-sector bailouts as they were happening. Schiff believes that capitalism offers is the only hope for young, frustrated people to have a vibrant and prosperous future. So he went to Occupy Wall Street to engage and debate the protesters. Touring the Occupy Wall Street scene in New York with a sign that read "I Am the 1%, Let's Talk," Schiff spent more than three hours on the scene, explaining the difference between cronyism and capitalism, bailouts and balance sheets, and more. "The regulation we want is the market," said Schiff. "That's what works." Schiff describes himself as "sympathetic" to the plight of the OWS protesters, but thinks their anger is misdirected at legitimate business interests and should be better at the White House, Congress, the Federal Reserve, and the crony capitalists they've bailed out.
