Iran Military day parade 2011
Uploaded by: www.facebook.com Iran's Armed Forces hold a major military parade to mark the 31st anniversary of eight years of defense against Iraq's invasion of Iran under executed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, Press TV reports. The ceremony opening the 'Sacred Defense Week' started on Thursday morning at the mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, in southern Tehran, a Press TV correspondent reported. Major divisions from the country's Armed Forces, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Basij voluntary force have taken part in the event. Iran's latest achievements in defense and military hardware, including Shahab missiles, Zolfaqar tanks, Shahin drones and electronic warfare equipment are also showcased during the ceremony. Simultaneous parades are also held in other cities nationwide. Armed Forces Joint Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Firouzabadi delivered a speech at the ceremony. Among other high-ranking Iranian military officials present at the ceremony are Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi and Iranian Army Commander Major Ataollah Salehi. Iraq's executed dictator Saddam Hussein invaded Iran on September 22, 1980 in a war that dragged on for eight years. The Sacred Defense Week commemorates the braveries of Iranian soldiers who fought in the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war and defended their country from enemy aggressions. www.presstv.ir

WAR WITH IRAN IS THE BEGINNING OF FULL SCALE NUCLEAR WORLD WAR 3 ----------------- globalresearch.ca ----------------- Towards a World War III Scenario? The Role of Israel in Triggering an Attack on Iran ----- Part II The Military Road Map ----- by Michel Chossudovsky ----------------- The stockpiling and deployment of advanced weapons systems directed against Iran started in the immediate wake of the 2003 bombing and invasion of Iraq. From the outset, these war plans were led by the US, in liaison with NATO and Israel. Following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration identified Iran and Syria as the next stage of "the road map to war". US military sources intimated that an aerial attack on Iran could involve a large scale deployment comparable to the US "shock and awe" bombing raids on Iraq in March 2003: "American air strikes on Iran would vastly exceed the scope of the 1981 Israeli attack on the Osiraq nuclear center in Iraq, and would more resemble the opening days of the 2003 air campaign against Iraq.(See Globalsecurity ) "Theater Iran Near Term" Code named by US military planners as TIRANNT, "Theater Iran Near Term", simulations of an attack on Iran were initiated in May 2003 "when modelers and intelligence specialists pulled together the data needed for theater-level (meaning large-scale) scenario analysis for Iran." IRAN MILITARY POWER WITH WORLD CLASS MISSILE DEFENCE TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY
www.rense.com -------------------------------------- The Sunburn - Iran's Awesome Nuclear Anti-Ship Missile The Weapon That Could Defeat The US In The Persian Gulf ------------------- Many years ago, Soviet planners gave up trying to match the US Navy ship for ship, gun for gun, and dollar for dollar. The Soviets simply could not compete with the high levels of US spending required to build up and maintain a huge naval armada. They shrewdly adopted an alternative approach based on strategic defense. They searched for weaknesses, and sought relatively inexpensive ways to exploit those weaknesses. The Soviets succeeded: by developing several supersonic anti-ship missiles, one of which, the SS-N-22 Sunburn, has been called "the most lethal missile in the world today." After the collapse of the Soviet Union the old military establishment fell upon hard times. But in the late1990s Moscow awakened to the under-utilized potential of its missile technology to generate desperately needed foreign exchange. A decision was made to resuscitate selected programs, and, very soon, Russian missile technology became a hot export commodity. Today, Russian missiles are a growth industry generating much-needed cash for Russia, with many billions in combined sales to India, China, Viet Nam, Cuba, and also Iran. In the near future this dissemination of advanced technology is likely to present serious challenges to the US. Some have even warned that the US Navy's largest ships, the massive ...

American military helps iran - 1964 united states army documentary / operation delawor ایران

American Military Helps Iran - 1964 United States Army Documentary / Operation Delawor ایران
In April 1964 a Persian word meaning "courageous" became known to Americans as the name of a bold military adventure. An entire airborne brigade with heavy equipment was airlifted to Iran, land of the ancient Persians. American and Iranian armed forces successfully demonstrated their combat readiness in "Exercise Delawor", the subject of this episode of THE BIG PICTURE. "In April 1964 a joint military exercise with the United States (Operation Delaware) partially reassured Tehran of Washington's continued interest in the region. Annual military exercises continued with an increased Iranian naval component. In March 1965 the Shah publicly declared that Iran's military would in the future pay special attention to the Gulf. The Gulf was of interest to Iran both for its proximity to the rich oil fields of its southwest and for the oil-rich continental shelf that lay beneath its contested waters." (The Foreign Relations of Iran, Shahram Chubin & Sepehr Zabih, University of California Press, 1974.) Note: some sources quote this military action as "Operation Delawar", some as "Operation Delawor" while others as "Exercise Delaware". To confuse matters further the translation of the word meaning "courageous" from Persian to English is best written as "Delaavar" or "Delavar". In the context of this documentary all these terms refer to the joint American / Iranian military operation that commenced in 1964.

Iran military powerful air defense missile and radar systems

IRAN MILITARY POWERFUL AIR DEFENSE MISSILE AND RADAR SYSTEMS
in.reuters.com -------------------- Iran tests new radar as war games continue --------------- Iran has tested a new radar system, a military commander said on Wednesday, as part of a show of strength it hopes will warn Israel and the United States against any attack. On day three of a 10-day military exercise, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Revolutionary Guards' aerospace division, said the new radar system, called Ghadir, was used for the first time. "The Ghadir radar has been designed and built to detect airborne targets, radar-evading planes, cruise and ballistic missiles and low-orbit satellites," he was quoted as saying by the student news agency ISNA. The radar has a range of 1100 km (680 miles) and a height of 300 km (190 miles), he said. As part of the "Great Prophet 6" exercise, Iran test-fired surface-to-surface missiles on Tuesday, with a maximum range of 2000 km (1250 miles), emphasising it could hit Israel or US targets in the region in the event of attack. The United States and Israel have said they do not rule out military strikes on Iran if diplomatic means fail to stop it developing nuclear weapons. Tehran says its uranium enrichment programme is geared to producing electricity, not atom bombs.

Iran military powerful war machine.

IRAN MILITARY POWERFUL WAR MACHINE.
www.newvision.co.ug ---------------- WHEN Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the highest-ranking American officer, was asked recently on NBC's Meet The Press show whether the US has a military plan for an attack on Iran, he replied simply: "We do." General staffs are supposed to plan for even the most unlikely future contingencies. Right down to the 1930s, for example, the US maintained and annually updated plans for the invasion of Canada — and the Canadian military made plans to preempt the invasion. But what the planning process will have revealed, in this case, is that there is no way for the United States to win a non-nuclear war with Iran. The US could "win" by dropping hundreds of nuclear weapons on Iran's military bases, nuclear facilities and industrial centres (ie cities) and killing five to ten million people, but short of that, nothing works. On this we have the word of Richard Clarke, counter-terrorism adviser in the White House under three administrations. In the early 1990s, Clarke revealed in an interview with the New York Times four years ago, the Clinton administration had seriously considered a bombing campaign against Iran, but the military professionals told them not to do it. "After a long debate, the highest levels of the military could not forecast a way in which things would end favourably for the US," he said. The Pentagon's planners have war-gamed an attack on Iran several times in the past fifteen years, and they ...

IRAN MILITARY POWERFUL AIR DEFENSE WAR GAME
www.iranian.com --------------------- Iran Has Developed New Radar System Capable of Detecting Stealth Aircrafts: Military Official ------------ Iranian military official announced Tehran has developed a new radar system capable of detecting modern stealth aircrafts. 'The Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Base has the capability of detecting, identifying, pursuing, and targeting any kind of stealth planes and any kind of cruise missiles of the enemy,' Commander of Khatam-ol-Anbiya Airbase Brigadier General Farzad Ismaili told reporters. The army officials said for over thirty years, Iranian forces have been on highest state of alert against external threats in particular by the United States and therefore today possesses all necessary capabilities to deal such threats. He also said further sanctions by the United States and its allies will have little negative influence on Iran except making the country even stronger than before. The US and allies hope imposing economic sanctions on Tehran would pressure the Iranians to accept a total halt of its domestic nuclear program and therefore succumb to Western demands on major international issues particularly related to energy safety and supply. Historically, the West has always been heavily dependent on Middle Eastern oil supply and the US dollar as world's main reserve currency can be measured in terms of how much oil is available in the global market. Western nations under NATO Alliance, today seek a total control over global energy ...

Iran army day 2012 with nation wide parade & display of latest military achievements

Iran Army Day 2012 with Nation wide parade & display of latest military achievements
Various units of Iran's Army staged military parades in Tehran and other cities across the country to mark the National Army Day. During the parades, the Iranian armed forces displayed different weapons and military tools and equipment, including ground-to-ground missiles, air-to-ground missiles, surface-to-surface missiles, tactical and armed vehicles, surface and underwater vessels, fighters, helicopters, drones, electronic and telecommunication equipment, light and mid-light weapons, different kinds of artillery and mortar-launchers, air defense systems and logistic equipment. Speaking at the ceremony, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the country would strongly respond to any aggression. He further noted that that maintaining the security of the Persian Gulf is a principle that should be abided by all the regional countries, saying Iran, in collaboration with other regional countries, is ready to establish the most stable security in the region. Defense analysts and military observers say that Iran's military exercise and its advancements in weapons production have proved as a deterrent factor.

Iran military powerful karrar unmanned aerial vehicle

IRAN MILITARY POWERFUL KARRAR UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE
www.guardian.co.uk ------------------ Iran has unveiled an unmanned, long-distance bomber drone described by the country's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as "an ambassador of death" to Tehran's enemies. At a ceremony today, Ahmadinejad said the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) -- named Karrar, meaning "striker" in Persian -- had "a main message of peace and friendship" but was intended to deter aggression "and keep the enemy paralysed in his bases". The presentation came as technicians began fuelling the Islamic republic's first nuclear power station, at Bushehr, in a development Israel has described as "totally unacceptable". The US and Britain say the Bushehr plant, which is monitored by the UN's nuclear watchdog, poses no proliferation threat because Russia is supplying the nuclear fuel and will remove the spent fuel rods, minimising any risk that they could be used to make nuclear weapons. Iran is under UN sanctions to force a halt to uranium enrichment because of fears that it secretly plans to build nuclear weapons. It flatly denies having any such intention. Ahmed Vahidi, the Iranian defence minister, said the Karrar had a range of up to 620 miles, which is not far enough to reach Israel. Iranian state TV reported that the UAV could carry four cruise missiles, two 250lb bombs or one 500lb bomb. The drone was the latest item of military hardware to be inaugurated by Iran against a background of continuing tension over the nuclear issue. On Friday, Tehran test-fired a ...

IRAN ARMY AIR DEFENSE RADAR AND MISSILE POWER
World War III: The Launching of a Preemptive Nuclear War against Iran by Michel Chossudovsky --------------- globalresearch.ca -------------- The launching of an outright war using nuclear warheads against Iran has been on the active drawing board of the Pentagon since 2005. If such a war were to be launched, the entire Middle East Central Asia region would flare up. Humanity would be precipitated into a World War III Scenario. World War III is not front-page news. The mainstream media has excluded in-depth analysis and debate on the implications of these war plans. The onslaught of World War III, were it to be carried out, would be casually described as a "no-fly zone", an operation under NATO's "Responsibility to Protect" (R2P) with minimal "collateral damage" or a "limited" punitive bombing against specific military targets, all of which purport to support "Global Security" as well as "democracy" and human rights in the targeted country. Public opinion is largely unaware of the grave implications of these war plans, which contemplate the use of nuclear weapons, ironically in retaliation to Iran's nonexistent nuclear weapons program. Moreover, 21st Century military technology is at an advanced stage of development combining an array of sophisticated weapons systems. We are at the crossroads of the most serious crisis in World history. The future of humanity is at stake. The present situation is one of advanced war planning by a formidable military force using nuclear ...

"No other country in the world ... comes close to Iran in the number and variety of ballistic missiles in development or already deployed," Uzi Rubin wrote in a study published by the Institute for National Security Studies. And yet, some of those missiles' effectiveness is questionable, he noted. Rubin based his study on published materials but his background -- from 1991 to 1999 he was the Arrow anti-ballistic missile program manager -- enables him to better analyze those reports. He wrote that most of the missiles designed to control the sea, land, and air near Iran show Chinese and Russian pedigree. The Raad, apparently an advanced version of the Chinese Silkworm, is a shore based anti-ship missile whose range should be sufficient to bloc the Persian Gulf at its widest point. The Zelzal, which originally hails from China, is intended to hit hostile troops concentrated some 125 miles away. Iranian army marks "sacred defense" week 2011 - annual military parade

Iranian Army marks
Iran displays its defense capabilities 23 years after the Iraq-Iran war. The annual parade is held at the mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, in southern Tehran. The ceremony marks the beginning of the sacred defense week in Iran which is held in the memory of hundreds of thousands who lost their lives in the eight year war against Saddam Hussein's army. Major divisions from Iran's Army, the Revolutionary Guards Corps and the Basij voluntary forces marched before a book of Quran in front of the tribune where high ranking Iranian military officials performed their salutes. Simultaneous parades are held in other parts of Iran along side special ceremonies to mark the event for a whole week. Iran's latest achievements in military hardware, including Shahab missiles, Zolfaqar tanks, Shahin drones and electronic warfare equipment were showcased to the crowd of observers. Foreign military representatives were also present. Years of Western sanctions against Iran and repeated threats by Israel have prompted Iran to strengthen its muscles by relying on domestic capabilities to develop its defense technology at home Experts say the Islamic Republic continues to grow as a regional power and is continuously expanding its presence in the region. The latest example is the presence of Iran's navy at the Red Sea; a matter which has raised concerns in Israel. On September 22nd 1980 Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein invaded Iran aimed at reaching the ...

IRAN ARMY HAVE NEBO STEALTH DETECTION RADAR IN INTEGRATED AIR DEFENSE

IRAN ARMY DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY
americasherojourney.com/Article-New-Pearl-Harbour.htm ----------------- The Neoconservative Agenda to Sacrifice the Fifth Fleet -- The New Pearl Harbor ----------------- The Bush administation has covered up and ignored dissenting Pentagon war games analysis that suggests an attack on Iran's nuclear or military facilities will lead directly to the annihilation of the Navy's Fifth Fleet now stationed in the Persian Gulf. Lt. General Paul Van Riper led a hypothetical Persian Gulf state in the 2002 Millennium Challenge wargames that resulted in the destruction of the Fifth Fleet. His experience and conclusions regarding the vulnerability of the Fifth Fleet to an assymetrical military conflict and the implications for a war against Iran have been ignored. Neoconservatives within the Bush administration are currently aggressively promoting a range of military actions against Iran that will culminate in it attacking the US Navy's Fifth Fleet with sophisticated cruise anti-ship missiles. They are ignoring Van Riper's experiences in the Millennium Challenge and how it applies to the current nuclear conflict with Iran. Iran has sufficient quantities of cruise missiles to destroy much or all of the Fifth Fleet which is within range of Iran's mobile missile launchers strategically located along its mountainous terrain overlooking the Persian Gulf. The Bush administration is deliberately downplaying the vulnerability of the Fifth Fleet to Iran's advanced missile technology which has ...

IRAN MILITARY SUPERSONIC ANTISHIP CRUISE MISSILE POWER
www.cuttingedge.org -------------------- 16 US NAVAL SHIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PERSIAN GULF! INCLUDES ONE AIRCRAFT CARRIER DESTROYED -- Recent War Games Disaster ---------------- During the summer of 2002, in the run-up to President Bush's invasion of Iraq, the US military staged the most elaborate and expensive war games ever conceived. Operation Millennium Challenge, as it was called, cost some $250 million, and required two years of planning. The mock war was not aimed at Iraq, at least, not overtly. But it was set in the Persian Gulf, and simulated a conflict with a hypothetical rogue state. The "war" involved heavy use of computers, and was also played out in the field by 13500 US troops, at 17 different locations and 9 live-force training sites. All of the services participated under a single joint command, known as JOINTFOR. The US forces were designated as "Force Blue," and the enemy as OPFOR, or "Force Red." The "war" lasted three weeks and ended with the overthrow of the dictatorial regime on August 15. At any rate, that was the official outcome. What actually happened was quite different, and ought to serve up a warning about the grave peril the world will face if the US should become embroiled in a widening conflict in the region. As the war games were about to commence on July 18 2002, Gen. William "Buck" Kernan, head of the Joint Forces Command, told the press that the operation would test a series of new war-fighting concepts recently developed by the ...

Free syrian army says it captured five iranian soldiers

Free Syrian Army says it captured five Iranian soldiers
Members of the Free Syrian Army say they have taken hostage seven Iranians, five of whom were allegedly soldiers complicit in the Syrian government's military crackdown on protesters in the opposition-controlled city of Homs. The Farouk Brigade of the FSA, an umbrella group of members of the country's security forces who defected to protect civilians from the government's attacks, say they will not release the hostages until the government frees a defected army officer and stops the prolonged military siege on Homs. A video released by the FSA fighters purports to show five of captured Iranians and their identity cards, which allegedly reveal that they are part of Iran's security forces. The defected troops say the other two hostages were civilians. The video appears to show the hostages admitting to operating as snipers targeting civilians under the direct supervision of Syria's Air Force Security unit. The Syrian National Council, a leading opposition group, says the development helps confirm many reports from refugees fleeing the country's violence and from activists within Syria, that the Iranian government, a close ally of Damascus, has been logistically backing the 10-month crackdown that has claimed thousands of civilian lives across the country. But there are concerns over the veracity of the FSA's claims that the five hostages are actually soldiers. According to a report by Al Jazeera's Nicole Johnston, all the five names of the hostages appear to match the names ...

Iran military great prophet 6 wargame supersonic ballistic missile test

IRAN MILITARY GREAT PROPHET 6 WARGAME SUPERSONIC BALLISTIC MISSILE TEST
www.newsmax.com ------------------ Iran has made dramatic progress in its ballistic missile programs over the past year, unveiling three new missiles it claims are already in production, including an innovative design that could be a "game-changer" if used against US aircraft carriers, an Israeli expert widely considered one of the world's top authorities on Iranian missile programs says. Also significant were three unannounced tests of longer-range missiles most experts believe were designed to carry a nuclear warhead. In the past, Iran has announced all of its missile tests, often with great fanfare, even when they were a failure, said Uzi Rubin, the father of Israel's "Arrow" anti-missile program. One of the unannounced missile tests involved a variant of the Shahab-3, which has been successfully test-fired many times since it was first flown in 1998 and is now in active deployment with Revolutionary Guards Air Force units. Because the missile has been tested successfully so many times, Rubin believes failure was not why the longer-range missile tests were kept quiet. "I believe it was policy," he told a breakfast meeting on Capitol Hill hosted by the National Defense University Foundation. The latest United Nations Security Council resolution imposing sanctions on Iran, which passed in June 2010, expressly forbids Iran from conducting tests of "nuclear-capable" missiles. "The fact that Iran did not disclose those tests is tantamount to admitting they were of nuclear ...

Iran military the war machine of middle east

IRAN MILITARY THE WAR MACHINE OF MIDDLE EAST
Towards a World War III Scenario? The Role of Israel in Triggering an Attack on Iran Part II The Military Road Map by Michel Chossudovsky ------------- www.globalresearch.ca -------------- "Theater Iran Near Term" Code named by US military planners as TIRANNT, "Theater Iran Near Term", simulations of an attack on Iran were initiated in May 2003 "when modelers and intelligence specialists pulled together the data needed for theater-level (meaning large-scale) scenario analysis for Iran." ( (William Arkin, Washington Post, 16 April 2006). The scenarios identified several thousand targets inside Iran as part of a "Shock and Awe" Blitzkrieg: "The analysis, called TIRANNT, for "Theater Iran Near Term," was coupled with a mock scenario for a Marine Corps invasion and a simulation of the Iranian missile force. US and British planners conducted a Caspian Sea war game around the same time. And Bush directed the US Strategic Command to draw up a global strike war plan for an attack against Iranian weapons of mass destruction. All of this will ultimately feed into a new war plan for "major combat operations" against Iran that military sources confirm now [April 2006] exists in draft form. ... Under TIRANNT, Army and US Central Command planners have been examining both near-term and out-year scenarios for war with Iran, including all aspects of a major combat operation, from mobilization and deployment of forces through postwar stability operations after regime change." (William ...
