CAPTION FAIL: Lady Gaga Putt-Putt Rally
FACEBOOK! facebook.com TWEET THIS! clicktotweet.com Leave a comment: Which was your favorite caption FAIL line? If you're not sure what we mean by the game "Telephone", it's the party game where you whisper something in someone's ear, then they whisper it in someone else's ear, and so on. The message gets changed over time. If you're playing this game at a party, it probably means it's a pretty lame party. If you turned on the Closed Captions, you may notice that the transcript is significantly different from what we ended up with for each round. That's because each time a video is uploaded, the computer listens to the audio and interprets it fresh. So, even if you upload essentially the same audio, if one small thing changes in your video, the transcript will change, sometimes a lot. It's just a phenomenon associated with the technology. Our scripts from rounds 2 & 3 came from the actual transcripts that were generated when we uploaded those videos. Make sense? Artificial intelligence -yellow cube machine-

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE -Yellow Cube Machine-
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines and the branch of computer science that aims to create it. AI textbooks define the field as "the study and design of intelligent agents where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chances of success. John McCarthy, who coined the term in 1956, defines it as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines. The field was founded on the claim that a central property of humans, intelligence—the sapience of Homo sapiens—can be so precisely described that it can be simulated by a machine. This raises philosophical issues about the nature of the mind and the ethics of creating artificial beings, issues which have been addressed by myth, fiction and philosophy since antiquity. Artificial intelligence has been the subject of optimism,[9] but has also suffered setbacks and, today, has become an essential part of the technology industry, providing the heavy lifting for many of the most difficult problems in computer science. AI research is highly technical and specialized, deeply divided into subfields that often fail to communicate with each other. Subfields have grown up around particular institutions, the work of individual researchers, the solution of specific problems, longstanding differences of opinion about how AI should be done and the application of widely differing tools. The central problems of AI include such traits as reasoning ...

TEDxLausanne - Jürgen Schmidhuber - When creative machines overtake man
www.tedxlausanne.org - Machine intelligence is improving rapidly, to the point that the scientist of the future may not even be human! In fact, in more and more fields, learning machines are already outperforming humans. Artificial intelligence expert Jürgen Schmidhuber isn't able to predict the future accurately, but he explains how machines are getting creative, why 40'000 years of Homo sapiens-dominated history are about to end soon, and how we can try to make the best of what lies ahead. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Pokémon battle revolution- 9/21/08 wi-fi battle 4

Pokémon Battle Revolution- 9/21/08 Wi-Fi Battle 4
I have realized that anyone who has faced this Brooke Pass so far has either given up or disconnected... Did you have fun Registeel? After getting hit by that Earthquake that Ice Punch too the face must've felt nice. Take that Garchomp! Aahhhhh! I hate that feeling you get when you take down your own pokemon. I didn't see and Aura Sphere hitting Registeel. I should've have used Thunderbolt not Discharge. What really surprised me is that Cresselia (which I think is weak in offensive stats) took down Zapdos with one hit from Ice Beam. the numbers might add up, but it doesn't feel right. After Mew was taken down by its Clone, Blissey appears. I built up a Substitute to stop any status attacks. I then proceed for Focus Punch. And finally when I thought they were going to tank me to death...disconnection. I used Zapdos, Registeel, Mewtwo, and Chimecho. My opponent used Cresselia(Shiny), Garchomp, Mew, and Blissey(Shiny).

Brains, meaning and corpus statistics

Brains, Meaning and Corpus Statistics
Google Tech Talks March 27, 3009 ABSTRACT Presented by Tom M. Mitchell E. Fredkin Professor and Department Head Machine Learning Department Carnegie Mellon University How does the human brain represent meanings of words and pictures in terms of the underlying neural activity? This talk will present our research using machine learning methods together with fMRI brain imaging to study this question. One line of our research has involved training classifiers that identify which word a person is thinking about, based on their neural activity observed using fMRI. A more recent line involves developing a computational model that predicts the neural activity associated with arbitrary English words, including words for which we do not yet have brain image data. This computational model is trained using a combination of fMRI data associated with several dozen concrete nouns, together with statistics gathered from a trillion-word text corpus. Once trained, the model predicts fMRI activation for any other concrete noun appearing in the text corpus, with highly significant accuracies over the 60 nouns for which we currently have fMRI data. Tom M. Mitchell is the E. Fredkin Professor and head of the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University. Mitchell is a past President of the American Association of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), and a Fellow of the AAAS and of the AAAI. His general research interests lie in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cognitive ...

The food industry claims that aspartame helps in losing weight, but why is obesity then becoming such an ever increasing problem? Aspartame is a very sweet chemical, responsible for a host of health problems such as obesity, diabetes, cancer, brain diseases, migraines, ADHD, etc. aspartame.mercola.com http wnho.net Shocking aspartame documentary 'Sweet Misery': www.youtube.com Caution! Aspartame is now being replaced in many products by sucralose (Splenda, E955) and Neotame (E961), but these sweeteners are also highly toxic! products.mercola.com splendaexposed.com http Aspartame breaks down into three toxic components: 1. Methanol. This is poisonous alcohol. In the body, methanol breaks down into formaldehyde, which is a poison. 2. Phenylalanine. This decreases the amount serotonin in your brain, which leads to mood swings (depressions) and an increased appetite! That is why aspartame is one of the main causes for the current obesity epidemic. naturalnews.com 3. Aspartic acid. This is a neurological toxin comparable to MSG. The US Department of Health has recorded 92 (!) symptoms related to aspartame use. In fact, over 80% of all complaints filed with the FDA are aspartame related! 321recipes.com Other names for aspartame: AminoSweet, NutraSweet, Equal, NatraTaste, Canderel, Spoonful, Equal-Measure, etc. Aspartame is used in any of the following products: Sugarfree, Light, Diet, Zero (Coke, Sprite ...

Artificial General Intelligence: Now Is the Time
Google Tech Talks May 30, 2007 ABSTRACT Dr. Ben Goertzel - Artificial General Intelligence: Now Is the Time Essay: www.kurzweilai.net/articles/art0701.html Abstract: When the AI field was founded over 50 years ago, it was squarely focused on the grand dream of creating software displaying general intelligence at the human level or beyond. Since that time the field has drifted in a direction Ray Kurzweil has called "Narrow AI": the creation of intelligent software applications carrying out highly particular functions. The relationship between this sort of narrow AI and "artificial general intelligence" (AGI) as in the original dreams of the AI field, is an issue of dispute among experts. Some...

Qbo meets qbo

Qbo meets Qbo
Visit our blog thecorpora.com for more details.... Those who have been following this project for a while know that it started 6 years ago. If something surprised and pleased me in equal measure, it was the controversy brought by our latest video in which Qbo recognizes itself in the mirror. It was not due to the publicity generated around the project, but because, somehow, we've updated this debate that was lost long time ago: can a machine become intelligent or self-conscious? We went from being interested in creating artificial brains to just develop mechatronic systems sophisticated but less intelligent or already programmed. After our latest video, you had consistently sent us a very interesting series of questions which can be summarized in two: what would happen if a Qbo has another of the same "species" identical to him in front of him? Davyd (ai mashup)

Davyd (AI Mashup)
Download MP3: www.pogomix.net My remix of voices, chords and sound effects from Spielberg's 'AI: Artificial Intelligence'. Enjoy! AI is a haunting, deeply moving science-fiction about David, a robot-boy "adopted" by a couple whose real son Martin lies hospitalised in a coma. The plot thickens when Martin recovers and deviously instigates David's abandonment, setting him on a vast adventure to find the fictitious Blue Fairy so he can wish for mortality and seek a new acceptance from his mother. The film salutes the tale of Pinocchio without compromising originality, and unfolds with uncanny realism in a frighteningly plausible future. It challenges our distinction between man and machine, and hints carefully at the conflicts of interest people can have in raising children. The visual effects are mind bending as typical of a Spielberg picture, but serve the story commendably without turning the film into an ILM showreel. Combined with the elegant yet characterful scoring of John Williams, this is one film bound to put both your morals and your tear ducts to the test.

Joseph nechvatal's computer virus project 2.0

Joseph Nechvatal's Computer Virus Project 2.0
Joseph Nechvatal's Computer Virus Project 2.0 follows along the same lines as previous viral works by Nechvatal in 1992 - works where an unpredictable progressive virus operates on a degradation/transformation of an image. Using a C++ framework, Joseph Nechvatal and his programmer/collaborator Stephane Sikora have brought Nechvatal's early computer virus project into the realm of artificial life (A-Life) (ie into a synthetic system that exhibits behaviors characteristic of natural living systems). With Computer Virus Project 2.0, elements of artificial life have been introduced in that viruses are modeled to be autonomous agents living in/off the image. The project simulates a population of active viruses functioning as an analogy of a viral biological system. Here the host of the virus are the digital files on which the computer-robotic assisted paintings in this show are based. Among the different techniques used here are models that result from embodied artificial intelligence and the paradigm of genetic programming.

(1of5) The Machine that Changed the World: Giant Brains. 1992 480P Documentary
(1of5) (Documentary) (480P) The Machine That Changed the World: Giant Brains. (OAD: 1992) Documentary overview: The Machine That Changed the World is the longest, most comprehensive documentary about the history of computing ever produced, but since its release in 1992, it's become virtually extinct. Out of print and never released online, the only remaining copies are VHS tapes floating around school libraries or in the homes of fans who dubbed the original shows when they aired. Video Description: The first part begins with a brief introduction to the series, summarizing the impact of computers on every aspect of our lives, attributed to their versatile nature. The history of computing begins with the original definition of "computers," human beings like William Shanks that calculated numbers by hand. Frustration with human error led Charles Babbage to develop his difference engine, the first mechanical computer. He later designed the analytical engine, the first general-purpose programmable computer, but it was never finished. Ada Lovelace assisted Babbage with the design and working out programs for the unbuilt machine, making her the first programmer. 100 years later, German engineer Konrad Zuse built the Z1, the first functional general-purpose computer, using binary counting with mechanical telephone relays. During World War II, Zuse wanted to switch to vacuum tubes, but Hitler killed the project because it would take too long. At the University of Pennsylvania ...

He argues that humankind is at a turning point in history. In this century, we are going to make the historic transition from the 'Age of Discovery' to the 'Age of Mastery', a period in which we will move from being passive observers of nature to its active choreographers. This will give us not only unparalleled possibilities but also great responsibilities. Visions of the Future: Episode 1: The Intelligence Revolution www.youtube.com Theoretical physicist and futurist Michio Kaku shows how, in the 21st century, artificial intelligence is going to become as ubiquitous as electricity, how robots with human-level intelligence may finally become a reality, and how we'll even be able to merge our minds with machine intelligence. As the challenges and choices are literally mind-bending, Dr Kaku asks how far we will ultimately go. Episode 2: The Biotech Revolution www.youtube.com Leading theoretical physicist and futurist Michio Kaku looks at the revolution in genetics and biotechnology, which promises unprecedented health and longevity but also raises the spectre of a Frankenstein future of genetically engineered people. Will we, as transhumanists expect, evolve into a new species? Dr Kaku warns that we may end up in a world divided by genetic apartheid. Episode 3: The Quantum Revolution ...
