Spleen removal laparoscopic splenectomy patient education

Spleen Removal Laparoscopic Splenectomy Patient Education
facebook.com - NEW facebook page - it's cool! Patient Education Company Your doctor has recommended that you undergo a Splenectomy - or spleen removal surgery. But what does that actually mean? The spleen is one of the organs in your body that works to clean your blood. The Spleen is located behind the stomach... and to the left of the liver. Specifically, the spleen picks out and destroys red blood cells that are no longer useful. A Splenectomy is the surgical procedure used to permanently remove the spleen from the body. Patient Education Reasons for removing the spleen vary. Most spleen removal surgery is performed in an emergency situation, during which internal bleeding may be putting a patient's life at risk. This program assumes, however, that you are not currently in an emergency setting. In your case, the reason for removing the Spleen may be to treat a blood disease, blood congestion, Gaucher's disease, white blood cell deficiency, the growth of a tumor, or the growth of cysts. Occasionally the Spleen is removed as part of an action taken to determine the best course of treatment for Hodgkin's disease. Patient Education Company

Noam chomsky on the role of the educational system

Noam Chomsky on the Role of the Educational System
March 1989 www.amazon.com Watch the full lecture: thefilmarchived.blogspot.com Noam Chomsky is an Institute Professor and professor emeritus of linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. freegovreports.com The goal of education, Chomsky argues, is to produce free human beings whose values are not accumulation and domination, but rather free association on terms of equality. Closing of the American Mind was published in 1987, five years after Bloom published an essay in The National Review about the failure of universities to serve the needs of students. With the encouragement of Saul Bellow, his colleague at the University of Chicago, he expanded his thoughts into a book "about a life, I've led" that critically reflected on the current state of higher education in American universities. His friends and admirers imagined the work would be a modest success, as did Bloom, who recognized his publishers modest advance to complete the project as a lack of sales confidence. Yet on the momentum of strong initial reviews, including one by Christopher Lehmann-Haupt in the New York Times and an op-ed piece by syndicated conservative commentator George Will entitled "A How-To Book for the Independent" it became an unexpected best seller, eventually selling close to half a million copies in hardback and remaining at number one on the New York Times Non-fiction Best Seller list for four months.

Education for whom and for what?

Education For Whom and For What?
Noam Chomsky, a world-renowned linguist, intellectual and political activist, spoke at the University of Arizona on Feb. 8, 2012. His lecture, "Education: For Whom and For What?" featured a talk on the state of higher education, followed by a question-and-answer session. Chomsky, an Institute Professor and a Professor Emeritus of Linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he worked for more than 50 years, has been concerned with a range of education-related issues in recent years. Among them: How do we characterize the contemporary state of the American education system? What happens to the quality of education when public universities become more privatized? Are public universities in danger of being converted into facilities that produce graduates-as-commodities for the job market? What is the role of activism in education? With unprecedented tuition increases and budget struggles occurring across American campuses, these are questions that are more relevant than ever.

The secret history of western education: the scientific destruction of minds - charlotte iserbyt 1/5

The Secret History of Western Education: The Scientific Destruction of Minds - Charlotte Iserbyt 1/5
Charlotte Thompson Iserbyt served as the head of policy at the Department of Education during the first administration of Ronald Reagan. While working there she discovered a long term strategic plan by the tax exempt foundations to transform America from a nation of rugged individualists and problem solvers to a country of servile, brainwashed minions who simply regurgitate whatever they're told. Part one of our exclusive interview with Iserbyt breaks down how conditioning/training under a corporate agenda has replaced traditional education, leading to a deliberate dumbing down of Americans. Iserbyt further explains how Reagan signed agreements merging the US and Soviet systems under the United Nations banner, turning over education and many other areas of public policy to global control. This 74 minute exposé is a must see for anyone who wants to truly know why the education system is deliberately crafted to produce human drones with no critical thinking whose only skills are to be subservient, trust authority and follow orders. The true cost of public education

The True Cost of Public Education
What is the true cost of public education? According to a new study by the Cato Institute, some of the nation's largest public school districts are underreporting the true cost of government-run education programs. www.cato.org Cato Education Analyst Adam B. Schaeffer explains that the nations five largest metro areas and the District of Columbia are blurring the numbers on education costs. On average, per-pupil spending in these areas is 44 percent higher than officially reported. Districts on average spent nearly $18000 per student and yet claimed to spend just $12500 last year. It is impossible to have a public debate about education policy if public schools can't be straight forward about their spending.
