Why is the tory party website is inaccessible to deaf +disabled people?

Why is the Tory Party website is inaccessible to Deaf +Disabled people?
WIth CLOSED CAPTIONS - After 4 days of email, twitter messages and frustrations posted on Pesky People and being IGNORED with no response - this video is a Deaf woman's response to Conservative Party for not making their website accessible for Deaf or Disabled people including live streaming of the Conservative Party conference 2-6 October 2010. That means none of their video or digital content was BSL interpreted or subtitled. Worse still she met Baroness Warsi and Andrew Mitchell 2 days before the conference began to explain the importance of Deaf and Disabled access online as part of an invite only bloggers meeting. In particular, the failure on their part to meet legal obligations under Equalities Act 2010 which the Con/Lib coalition government agreed to implement - on 1 October 2010 - it is not like they didn't know about it. Help complain why Disabled and Deaf people are important part of our society in the UK by leaving messages of support at www.peskypeople.co.uk You could also complain to the Conservative Party as well.

I love the lord for the deaf and and hearing

I Love the Lord for the Deaf and and Hearing
This is a video of the gospel song "I Love the Lord" which I have made for the Deaf and Hearing. I am a music teacher aspiring to become a teacher for the Deaf and I believe the Deaf and Hearing can work together to make music. Check out the Deaf/Hearing Choir I directed in Kenya: www.youtube.com NOTE: By NO means is this video a way of trying to get Deaf people to do music because it is a part of the Hearing world and it is inherently better than not having music. I love and respect Deaf culture, and what this video is demonstrating is a potential cultural exchange that can take place between the Hearing and Deaf people. Me being relatively new to sign language, I understand that the direct translation of ASL to English is very crude. However, as I progress in my ASL, I want to make videos that incorporate a poetic ASL translation of the English. (Note: Copyright infringement not intended. This video is for education and awareness on Deaf culture and music)

Global deaf muslims at icna 2010

Global Deaf Muslims at ICNA 2010
Global Deaf Muslims at ICNA 2010 "Yet they still believe" By: Iqbal Shariff, Young Muslim, on the national Shura Dated: May 31, 2010 ... At the 2010 Young Muslims Conference "Happily ever hereafter" in Hartford, CT Memorial Day weekend, the first two rows were reserved for Muslim brothers and sisters that are deaf. It was the most inspiring and rejuvenating sight to see but my first reaction was nothing but tears and self-contradiction. As tears pour from my eyes, I asked myself how do they believe in Allah SWT? And how is their iman being fueled? Non-deaf Muslims have the ability to hear lectures and reminders but deaf-Muslims are faced with a series of challenges that make it difficult for them to obtain Islamic knowledge and reminders. In other words, deaf Muslims disability is not their hearing but the availability of Islamic knowledge. Can you imagine being deaf? You cannot hear your child utter their first words. You cannot hear the beautiful recitation of the Qur'an! You cannot hear Jummah khutbah! A whole source of knowledge is difficult to acquire. After the tears stopped I was internally conflicted. I saw a group of Muslims that was striving for Allah's pleasure despite the handicap Allah SWT placed onto them. I then contemplated on the non-deaf Muslims and how easily we take for granted and dismiss opportunities in which we can know more about Allah SWT. Unnecessary facts and sound bytes serve as cotton balls that prevent us from listening to clear signs of ...

Rush limbaugh with william shatner

Rush Limbaugh with William Shatner
Rush Limbaugh was interviewed on William Shatner's "Raw Nerve" on A&E. In this clip of the show, Shatner asked Rush what is a conservative? Rush said that conservatives believe in the principles that founded this country, individual liberty and the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Conservatives believe the individual is best left with the freedom to pursue the aspects of daily life. Shatner and Rush discussed the current healthcare debate in that context. If you're like me, you may have been wondering why William Shatner would be interested in interviewing Rush and why Rush would agree to appear on his show. Shatner and Rush have something in common - tinnitus - a ringing, hissing, or buzzing in the ear that replaces normal sound. Rush discussed how quickly he was going deaf and how scared he was that he would lose his radio career. For a month before his operation he could literally not hear himself speak while he was broadcasting.
