"DECADENCIA," (Decay), translated from the original Spanish. This Cuban protest rap song produced by ESkUADRoN Patriota is a call to resistance, and freedom for the Cuban people. It describes the Cuba that the Cuban government tries to disguise and hide from the eyes of the rest of the world. The video is stark and the lyrics poignant, with no punches pulled. The message is right on point. This video doesn't have the resolution of the original, but it's the best I could do to provide English speakers with a translation. I hope it helps the English-speaking world understand that the Castro government is not worthy of their compassion or support. The Cuban people want to get out from under that "cold-blooded hegemony." Please let the Decay, and the final fall, happen!

I love this clip, but the only version that was up here with English subtitles was poor quality, and the version that had good quality had no subtitles. So I decided to combine the good quality original audio video with YouTube optional subtitles. And there's a new feature that will allow you to automatically translate subtitles from any language. Note: I don't speak Spanish, so my timing might be a bit off and I was using the text of the version with burned-in subtitles. Probably the most elaborate prank of its kind ever, it was a huge hit on ° VRT (Belgium) television January 10, 2011. To share it with the rest of the world, English subtitles were a must. Enjoy! Madonna's like a prayer (srpski literal version) (reframed)

Thanks to reframing, a process by which one can hope to circumvent YouTube's cantankerous draconian auto-censors, this lovely Serbian LMV is now available for viewing once again. What's the Serbian singer in this Serbian literal music video trying to tell you people? Thanks to the Closed Captioning subtitles I've adapted and translated with an online translation engine, some educated guessing based on the context, and some subjective interpretation, you should be able to get a pretty good idea. (I can't really guarantee the translation is completely accurate; I don't actually know any Serbian.) In addition to the rough translation, I've included the original Serbian captions; other than cleaning up and standardizing the punctuation, I've left them pretty much the way they were. If any of you viewers are masters of both the Serbian and English languages, any corrections you may have to offer to my translation are welcome in my inbox. A few oddities in the translation may need some explanation: "Sad će": Originally it was "Saće" which translated as "hive or "honeycomb" and which I took for a poetic reference to the ornate cage in which the icon in Madonna's video is kept. However, I am informed that "Saće" is actually a contraction for "Sad će" so I've rendered it as the two words to avoid confusion. "Louise Ciccone": Madonna's real name, which is somewhat fitting considering that the music video is from earlier in her career before she bleached her hair.

Tokyo Breakfast is a 2000 independent live action comedy short film (5:50 min. running time) by Propaganda Films and created by former MTV producers Mike Maguire and creative Tom Kuntz. The spoof sitcom was a commentary on a fad where a family in Japan were adopting the hip hop lifestyle as depicted in music videos. The film is a parody of the Japanese perception of day-to-day doings of an American family, with an emphasis on the emulation of a perceived black culture. Characters use the term "nigga" with unusual regularity and familiarity. The actors speak in heavily accented English, peppered with American English idioms, and salaryman-style business English. This video may appear "racist" to some people, while appears completely harmless as a regular comedy to others. The film appeared in the 2001 Ohio Film Festival and also spread as an Internet phenomenon. On a side note, the news program the family is watching in the kitchen, "News 23, " is actually aired in the evening in Japan on the Tokyo Broadcasting System - not in the morning, as the episode suggests.
