Condemned girl's dormitory

Following the earthquake in October, 2008, the girl's dormitory at Jatson Chumig - Dorm 1 - was condemned/unihabitable and the girls moved out in early spring, 2009. The building is not able to be repaired and must come down and be rebuilt. Please watch this and the following video (Overcrowded Dorm 2) to see that a new dormitory is necessary. When candles go bad

The North Adams Fire Department and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts burned up a simulated dormitory room on Monday to vividly demonstrate the dangers of fire. The drill was made possible through an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the US Department of Homeland Security to MCLA and included taping the burn for a college awareness campaign. Constructed by the MCLA facilities department, the 8x10 three-sided room including a typical dorm bed with fire-resistant mattress, computer monitor, standard furniture, posters, papers, clothing and curtain. Provocateurs Spray-paint "Infowars.com" on Private Property in Pennsylvania Kurt Nimmo www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv August 19, 2010 Alex Jones and Infowars.com have repeatedly advised against defacing private property in order to express political ideas and opposition to the government. In an obvious effort to discredit Alex Jones and Infowars.com, vandals have spray-painted "Infowars.com" and messages about fluoride on private property in Millcreek Township, Pennsylvania. WPMT Fox 43 in York, Pennsylvania, covered the vandalism. Fox's anchor insinuates Infowars.com is behind the incident. It is almost assured the graffiti is the work of either agents provocateurs or misguided individuals who do not respect private property or have a tagger mentality. It is a 90% chance, however, the vandalism is an effort to discredit Alex Jones and Infowars.com. Alex Jones and Infowars.com have repeatedly advised against defacing private property in order to express political ideas and opposition to the government. In 2009, during the Obama as the Joker poster campaign, Infowars.com specifically instructed activists not to put posters up on private property. "Obama Joker posters should be posted in public commons where other fliers, public announcements, handbills, etc., are posted. Jessica's efforts to create awareness about environmental issues | pbteen

Meet Jessica, a teenager intern at the Crissy Field Center who works towards the betterment of the environment. Jessica believes that the drive to take action and work towards the cause of conserving the environment is what prompted her to work at the Crissy Field Center. She says that at the Center, their main mission is to make the youth of San Francisco aware of environmental issues. Her most remarkable achievement till date has been the community mural painted by them as a team. The mural conveyed a very strong positive message by contrasting locally-produced corn with industrially-produced corn. Learning more is what keeps this teenager going. According to her, the fact that her active participation at the various awareness campaigns has had a positive result and is what makes her happy. Reading up on material related to the environment online or in magazines can make more and more people aware about environmental hazards. Jessica says that one can take the first step by planting more trees and flowers right outside their home. One can also start an awareness campaign for the neighborhood community and start with the sidewalks that surround your own house. A pep talk for the occupy movement

The #Occupy Movement is a platform for democratic engagement. It's aims to reboot our politics and upgrade to a better operating system...a political system that: (a) includes everyone and (b) acknowledges the elephants in our era's room: the corruption of our government by private interests and the threat to our national community by rising economic inequality. People have criticized the Occupy Movement for not having any specific demands...but, again, the movement is just a platform, an operating system for we, the people to utilize in whichever way we want...to criticize the Occupy movement for not having specific demands is like criticizing the Founding Fathers for not attaching a budget to the Constitution or criticizing Wikipedia's founders for not writing every article themselves. Occupy's a platform...an operating system for us to use and build upon! However, we Occupiers need to acknowledge that operating systems get stale if they do not have any awesome apps on them. We love 'the internet' for its websites; we love our iPhones for Angry Birds; and we love our Constitution for the programs and laws it has allowed us to pass and implement. If an operating system does not have any compelling apps, it withers. True, Occupy's "raise awareness that there's a problem" app was awesome and made the nation fall in love with Occupy. The "tent city" apps were pretty interesting...until they got deleted. And the "marches" and "direct action" apps occasionally inspire. But ... Paltalk news - gop voter supression campaign cha

Investigative reporter and blogger Brad Friedman who probes election fraud allegations is charging that Republicans across the nation are engaged in a campaign to suppress votes in Democratic enclaves. Friedman, during an appearance on News Talk Online on Paltalk.com, alleged that the Democrats are engaged under attack but are oblivious to the fact that they are under siege and are not doing much to stop the tactics. The author of Brad Blog says Republicans are trying to preclude, for example, college students, from voting by making it difficult for them to prove their residency. One tactic is to demand that the young voters, who trend toward supporting Democrat Barack Obama, show they are receiving utility bills at their claimed residences. Impossible, of course, when living in a dorm. Friedman, who says he is a non-partisan, is involved in or supports several organizations designed to reveal attempts to suppress voting. Among them Save Voting, Standing For Voters and Poll Workers For Democracy. He says, that in general, the nation's voting system is, "in worse shape than in 2000." He points to problems with touch screen voting systems - even those that include paper trails - that don't assure that votes are properly counted. Even paper ballots, which many tout as a solution to election fraud problems, are not necessarily dependable, he charges, especially those that are counted by electronic optical scan systems that can, he says, be manipulated. GUYS, lol. If you pick the second choice you gotta tell me about what lmfao. Okay here- The next day I run up to Jalyss. "Hey, look- I'm sorry," I grab her shoulder to turn her around. "No- I'M sorry," she points to herself, smiles, and turns around to continue walking to class. Jalyss isn't the type to forgive someone so easily. Something's going on. I stand there, thinking. Ever since Zack's school moved back to their own area, I've had no problems, but everything's been going wrong lately. Not us and Prince though- HEEHEE- but it's going to if I don't straighten things up. --- It's after class time and everyone's hanging out in our dorm room. Madi is texting someone- probably Ray. Brianna is sleeping silently. And Jalyss is smiling goofily, drawing something on a notebook. I scowl and start to walk over to her. "You've been acting weird, what's up?" I sit next to her on the couch. "Yeah! I've been meaning to talk to you, Amber!" she seems super hyped about something. "Amber, AMBER AMBER AMBER! My best friend in the whole wide world!"
