It's a compound exercise because it also works out your shoulders, your back, and arms. You also use your legs to stabilize yourself. Warm up good and get your blood flowing before lifting heavy to prevent injuries since there's different muscle groups involved. I also do the barbell on some days but I'm showing you guys dumbbell workouts and typical machines most gyms will have. You will have to balance the dumbbell more than barbell which will build more on your wrist/ forearms. It will help you lift the bar easier. Also you wont need a spotter as you would need for the barbell to use heavier weights. Anyways its 100 degrees in this gym and there's no air conditioning so it's hard to lift here. lol Couple things to remember: Flat dumbbell press - Start off light since it's the beginning of the workout and increase gradually. -Keep your feet on the ground and spread out to maintain balance. - Place the dumb bell closer to your body so when you roll back you're ready to push the weight upright. -Try to go low as you can - If you want to target more on your chest; don't fully extend your bench as it will work out more on your triceps. This will also help if you're going heavier and if your muscles give out you can always drop the dumbbell to the side. Incline dumbbell press - place the dumbbell closer to your knee to kick it up easier. - Try not to arch your ...

CARRY WITH OUTSIDE ARM: You always want to keep the ball away from defenders, so if you're coming around the outside you should keep the ball in your outside arm. This makes it more difficult for defenders to get to the ball, and it allows you to use your inside arm to fend off tacklers. When you spin, remember to keep the ball tight to your body don't let it extend outward. STAY BALANCED: A key part of a successful spin move is staying balanced. You don't want to approach the defender with so much momentum that you crash right into him that only makes his job easier. As you approach the tackler, come to balance with your body in control and your feet under you. That'll put you in much better position to set up your spin move. SHAKE AND SPIN: One of the most important elements of the spin move happens before you even spin. The shake you give the defender is what throws him off balance and allows the spin to be effective. Just before the point of contact, shake (or juke) in one direction and get the tackler to turn his hips. Then plant your foot and spin back the other way, past your man. ACCELERATE: Once you've executed the spin, it's time to turn on the jets. Square you body downfield again and accelerate as fast as you can. This will prevent the original defender from reaching back and making an ankle tackle, and it will reestablish your forward momentum to take on the next defender, if there is one. If not, have a nice trip to the end zone.

hotandhealthyliving.com To keep from getting bored Ive switched my 30-minute workout plan once again. I also actually hurt my back recently too (not sure doing what? But, the pain has been going into my thigh and sciatic nerve and its very, very annoying---not excruciating---just highly aggravating. Sort of like someone is buzzing in your ear ALL. DAY.LONG.) Anyway, because of the back/ leg issue Ive been doing a lot more core exercises these days. So, this workout recruits a lot of stabilizing muscles from your back, hips and abdominal region plus incorporates a good deal of balancing exercises. By the way, I also bought the book Pain-Free by Pete Ecosque and Ive been doing his recommended e-cises (which are basically stretches) in addition to my 30-minute workout program and they seem to really be helping a lot. My 30-minute workout program below not only works your core, but its a full-body workout that combines strength, flexibility and endurance exercises. Its a circuit training routine and the perfect way to get functionally fit in a very short amount of time. I recommend doing this workout 3 times a week. This is very doable as I know everybody can squeeze a 30-minute workout in (especially one that you can do at home) at least 3 times a week!! Getting physically fit need not be a full time job. Be sure to concentrate on the movements and dont rely on momentum. Its always better to do the exercise with correct form and to focus on quality over quantity of reps or ...

This exercise was first taught by Yogi Bhajan on Feb 24, 2001. The pranayam energizes, recharges and challenges you to know your strength. It can be done for 11 minutes or longer.
