Xs jr. league dodgeball game sample - playstation

Original Air Date: December 29th, 2008 Well, XS butchers another game upon localization. Gunbird/Mobile Light Force, Sol Divide, etc. What did they do to this game you ask? Well, the game was originally an all-girl dodgeball game in Japan by the name of "Dodge De Ball!" that had numerous touchups and the like. XS watered things down, changed half the girls into guys with shoddily edited pictures and character sprites so as not to seem sexist I suppose, made the cover art look so lame that most folks won't get near it much less buy the game, removed some audio tunes (some which are nice...I'd know, they're still on the CD), took out the story and changed character names, and other things too! As far as XS localizations, I'd have to say this is one of the worst. Otherwise, those familar with classics like Super Dodge Ball may find something to like here. The game has (while nothing impressive) nice, smooth graphics and good audio, and the gameplay is good, though kinda easy. The only tough thing is sometimes grabbing items can be a pain. Seriously, while one should appreciate localizations of games, the way XS tends to go about it really grinds my gears. They're like the Uwe Boll of game localizations. After doing such a poor job, they have the nerve to completely rename the game and slapped their blown-up logo all over the place! It's games like this that really make people get into importing...

Master of monsters: disciples of gaia game sample - playstation

Original Air Date: (Unknown, End of 2007. Revised Today!) Several lucky Westerners are familiar with SystemSoft's "Master of Monsters" series, a hex-strategy game originally intended to be the fantasy-equivalent to their own successful "Daisenryaku" series, through the successful Sega Genesis/MD port, but MoM has been around prior to that version and has since been released on many platforms. Originally released for MSX and PC-8801, it has seen numerous sequels, revisions, updates, and ports over the years. From PC-Engine to PC9801 to Genesis, Japanese PCs, Sega Saturn, Playstation, and more, one would think that the series would go down as an all-time classic. Alas, this is not exactly the case. MoM never quite garnered the same kind of success as Daisenryaku and after the release of the PC-Engine and Genesis/MD release, it seemed the games never felt quite right... it's as if something was just slightly off, the games were too easy and ignored its strategic origins, or as if the games ignored years of progress in the gaming industry which, for better or worse, caused the game to live in more superior strategy titles' shadows. One such case is "Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia", which was originally made for the Sega Saturn in 1996 (under the name Master of Monsters: Neo Generations) and was later "enhanced" for Playstation in '97. Device-free passive localization for wireless environments

Google Tech Talks September 17, 2008 ABSTRACT Typical location determination systems, for example Global Positioning System (GPS), require the presence of a physical device that is attached to the object that is being tracked. In addition, they usually require the tracked device to participate actively in the localization process by running part of the localization algorithm or by extracting the physical signals used in communication, such as signal strength or time. In this talk, we introduce the concept of Device-free Passive (DfP) localization for outdoor wireless networks. A DfP system is envisioned to be able to detect, track, and identify entities that do not carry any device, nor participate actively in the localization process. The system works by monitoring and processing changes in the received physical signals at one or more monitoring points to detect changes in the environment. Applications for DfP systems include intrusion detection and tracking, protecting outdoor assets, such as pipelines, railroad tracks, and perimeters, and enhancing the security of other detection systems. In this talk, we will describe the DfP system's architecture and the challenges that need to be addressed to materialize a DfP system. We show the feasibility of the system by describing algorithms for implementing different functionalities of a DfP system that works with nominal WiFi equipment. Original Air Date: December 29th, 2008 Blue Almanac is a futuristic RPG influenced in part by "Star Wars" and Sega's "Phantasy Star" series, developed by Hot-B (now Starfish-SD) in June 22nd, 1991. Originally slated for release outside Japan but cancelled, the only-known English prototype and rights to publish the game have been recently acquired by the low-profile localization group, "Super Fighter Team", who have done minor modifications to the game's code and translated the game (part of which is modeled around the ENG proto) exactly twenty years after the game's original release. The core plot is faithful to the original release, but several adjustments were made to make the dialogue more entertaining to read as well as various character name changes which were made partially due to character space limitations which only allow four characters. For example, the protagonist, Miyabi by default (in the Japanese release, named after the director of BA), is renamed Toby in English. In Japanese, Miyabi can be spelled with three characters, but not in English. The intro begins prior to the start, being told from the perspective of a travelling spice trader, Yan, who describes how he got entangled in the adventure of a lifetime to save the universe from disaster while merely observing Starseeds floating throughout the Union Empire galaxy sixteen years ago. Mobile light force 2 game sample - playstation 2

Ha ha ha... if you thought Mobile Light Force made XS Games somewhat infamous, it was only a sign of things to come. Consider this: In North America, Mobile Light Force and MLF2 were released on the same day for two different systems and revolve around two completely different game series but were marketed chronoligically as if it's a proper sequel to the previous game. The only things they have in common is that they were both butchered quite a bit and have the audacity to share nearly the same Charlie's Angel-esque packing in the US Say wha? If you watched our Mobile Light Force video, you may have learned that it was a watered-down version of "Gunbird", a nice but short anime-style shooter. Mobile Light Force 2 is a watered-down version of a game series known as "Castle Shikigami" or "Shikigami no Shiro". To be slightly fair here, the original Castle Shikigami (this) was nothing to write home about even if it was localized properly, but it's still the victim of poor localization with generally all the in-game story removed. Subsequent games in the CS/SnS series are significantly better. XS Games even released the follow-up to this as Castle Shikigami 2, but labeled the special attacks as "Mobile Light Force 3 Attacks", as if implying that it's the third game in the "MLF" series... wooooow. How do I know these things? I've become a curious "fan" of XS games and seek to see how they've butchered certain games, so I own a few of them. MLF2 is basically Castle Shikigami ...

Superstar dance club game sample - playstation

Original Air Date: May 13th, 2009 Another XS Games localization... I'll be fair here. This is one of the only games that they haven't botched much. While the cover art absolutely sucks (with stereotypical American-looking girls slapped on it) and any reference to the game's cultural significance has been removed, the gameplay itself wasn't really altered in the slightest. The game was even released in the same decade as its Japanese counterpart (to be fair again, XS Games can't be blamed for arriving on the scene late... I'm kinda glad they took their time). The only reason I can think for this is that there wasn't anything to remove; this game was a budget title in Japan as well. Originally called Love Para: Lovely Tokyo Para-Para Musume and part of the 1500 Series (budget games released at 1500 Yen), the idea was for "you" to help your dance partner become the "Para Dance Queen". In Japan, Para-Para dancing was a particular style of dancing that consisted of synchronized choreography that largely involved arm and some hip movements. While this game was made to cash in on the Para Para fad at the time in Japan, it had no real significance in the states, so XS altered the story somewhat to resemble just another dance game starring a girl named Suzy who seems like a gold digger. The reason the game has a lot of strange background dancers and such may seem nonsensical, but it too serves a bit of a purpose and even explains the particular look of the lead dancer. It's part ...

Brave story: new traveler game sample - psp

Here's our first official PSP video! We'll start off simple with "Brave Story: New Traveler", an all-around decent, relatively old-school RPG for the Playstation Portable. BS:NT is a fairly early PSP RPG, originally presented in Japan in 2006 by SCEI and in North America in 2007 courtesy of Xseed Games. It was released simultaneously with two other Japan-only games, "Brave Story: Wataru no Bouken" for PS2 and "Brave Story: Boku no Kioku to Negai" for Nintendo DS, though the PSP game is oddly a successor to the aforementioned titles, story-wise. It is loosely based on the original Japanese fantasy novel and manga, "Brave Story", by Miyuki Miyabe and Yoichiro Ono, and developed by Game Republic. The novel deals with the trials and tribulations of a young 5th Grade student named Wataru Mitani, who is struggling to lead a normal life after his parents get divorced and his mother attempts suicide. As he grips with reality one day at school, he hears about an abandoned, unfinished building where students claim a ghost lives. He is with his uncle when he sees an old man go into the building. Wataru follows him and accidentally stumbles through the "Porta Nectere" into the world of "Vision", where dreams can come true and where one can change fate, but he must go on a dangerous journey and prove his bravery, thus beginning his journey. Adventures of dino riki game sample - nes/fc

The Adventures of Dino Riki is a semi-notorious game for the NES in the late 80s (1989) that was developed roughly two and a half years prior in Japan under the name of "Shin Jinrui: The New Type" (where Rix Soft oddly enough published it). It's a game that is loathed by many and is seen as a combination of a shooter like "1943" and a platformer with an Adventure Island theme. The main character, Riki, was inspired by the famous Japanese professional wrestler, Mitsuo Yoshida (or better known as "Riki Chōshū"). This is especially seen when Riki grabs hidden "Super Caveman" power-ups. From my understanding, a Nintendo Power article was particularly critical of this game. While the game isn't anything special, it's not quite AS BAD as it's made out to be, though the game does prove to be amongst some of the most difficult Nintendo games, and for some reasons that could have been avoided. In order to really give weight to criticism, it helps to have a thorough understanding of how to play this game. Riki slowly moves vertically through levels (though some segments speed up without warning) and after about five minutes, you can tell that this is one of those games that does everything possible to try your patience. There are enemies everywhere, really tedious jumping segments, lots of obstacles, and even when you think you've found one way to clear the level, Hudson thought ahead and confront you with additional challenges. WARNING: Do not listen at excessive volumes. NOTICE: It is recommended that the clip be watched in high quality for the sake of sound quality. This is a video response with sine sweeps and a variety of music samples. A quality microphone was used in place of the camera mike for recording the sound. Only one speaker has been miked, therefore only one speaker is generating the ranges. With the Bose Lifestyle system, the Acoustimass module is needed to accommodate reproduction of mid-low frequencies that the satellites alone cannot. Fortunately, the crossover settings between the Acoustimass and the satellites are most likely matched at the factory, so no adjustment is necessary at that end. However, correct placement of the Acoustimass is critical for proper reproduction of the ranges as well as to minimize undesired localization of the Acoustimass. This is not an issue with a loudspeaker employing separate, matched drivers, such as the Optimus Mach Three in this video. The use of quality audio equipment or headphones is recommended, but caution is advised because the sound levels can be loud. A significant number of proteins are regulated by subcellular trafficking or nucleocytolasmic shuttling. These proteins display a diverse array of cellular functions including nuclear import/export of RNA and protein, transcriptional regulation, and apoptosis. Interestingly, major cellular reorganizations including cell division, differentiation and transformation, often involve such activities3,4,8,10. Ar4cad - augmented reality for industrial applications

Example of AR directed assembly. AR4CAD is a research project at T3LAB, where AR technology is investigated for industrial applications: in particular, it has been applied to improve assembly works. The operator is guided by multi-media instructions (text, audio, animations, movies, ...) and virtual objects that are displayed where the corresponding real object should be mounted. Currently the operator sees the augmented view in a window of a normal PC screen together with other windows displaying additional, related information. Interactions between the operator and the AR system are mostly voice based. Virtual objects are created from CAD descriptions. CAD tools are also used to describe the assembly storyboard, based on the exploded view of the assembly and adding specific pragmas to image frames. Recognition, localization and tracking of real objects are performed without markers and using a normal machine vision library. Virtual object images, animations and models for object recognitions are automatically generated from the assembly storyboard.

This is the first video I've ever made of a PS2 game in my channel, and in fact, there won't be a lot of them, to tell you the truth : there's not a lot of games that currently interest me in that console, and so far I only own 6 PS2 games all in all : Phantasy Star Complete Collection, Berwick Saga, Tokimeki Memorial 3, Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro Na, Princess Holiday, and Tales of Destiny Director's Cut. For my first PS2 gameplay sample, I wanted to show you the famous Escapipe Trick from Phantasy Star 3, through the compilation game Phantasy Star Complete Collection of the Sega Ages Collection. This collection is probably one of the ultimate Phantasy Star games collection out there : not only it gathers all four Megadrive / Genesis games, but also contains "Phantasy Star 2 Text Adventure", AND all four Megadrive games are available in Japanese and English versions !! So if your Playstation 2 can read Japanese disks, you can get to play those games in their original English localization ! This collection also has nice artwork galleries of the games. The Escapipe Trick is one nice Easter Egg. Perfoming it is simple : When you start the game, go immediately sell your Boots, so you get enough money to buy an Escapipe, which allows you to exit from dungeons, a la Escape Rope of Pokémon. No subtitle zxa english cutscene test

No video/audio editing, done through .vx file swap. For some reason the localization added subtitles in the game, just not on the videos themselves. I plan to record all the cutscenes. If I keep doing this, I probably will never play the game in English xD I like Albert's English voice more than the Japanese one.

Shows you quickly where to find the folder where Display Recorder saves your video screen shots taken on your iPhone. Im using iFile to navigate to this folder. Goto: /Library/DisplayRecorder/ here you will find your .avi files that you have made with Display Recorder. This way you can manually move your .avi files which Display Recorder makes to another folder, for example VLC to be able to watch your video screen shots without posting them on youtube. Or if you want to share them via bluetooth or email to someone for example.

Shoptalk, wearable shopping system for the blind, at lee's market place in logan, ut - trial 3

A supermarket trial run of our ShopTalk system at Lee's Market Place in Logan, Utah. ShopTalk is a proof-of-concept wearable system designed to assist visually impaired shoppers with finding shelved products in supermarkets. The system is based on a simple conceptual formula: Independent Blind Shopping = Verbal Route Directions + Shelf Barcode Scans. This individual is a cane user. He has selected a product, and is now following a set of verbal instructions automatically generated by the system from the topological map of the supermarket. The the first leg of the route starts at the store's lobby and ends at the aisle where the selected product resides. When the shopper scans any shelf barcode, the system begins to use its database, called the barcode connectivity matrix (BCM). The database associates each shelf barcode with an aisle number, the side of the aisle, a shelf section number, a shelf number in that shelf section, and a relative position on the shelf. The system's hardware consists of a computational unit, an OQO model 01, a Belkin numeric keypad, a wireless barcode scanner and its base station, and a USB hub that connects all components. The user wears a small CamelBak backpack to carry the equipment. The equipment is very light. The numeric keypad is attached by a velcro strip to one of the backpack's shoulder straps. Protein synthesis is a complex cellular process that is regulated at many levels. For example, global translation can be inhibited at the initiation phase or the elongation phase by a variety of cellular stresses such as amino acid starvation or growth factor withdrawal. Alternatively, translation of individual mRNAs can be regulated by mRNA localization or the presence of cognate microRNAs. Studies of protein synthesis frequently utilize polyribosome analysis to shed light on the mechanisms of translation regulation or defects in protein synthesis. In this assay, mRNA/ribosome complexes are isolated from eukaryotic cells. A sucrose density gradient separates mRNAs bound to multiple ribosomes known as polyribosomes from mRNAs bound to a single ribosome or monosome. Fractionation of the gradients allows isolation and quantification of the different ribosomal populations and their associated mRNAs or proteins. Differences in the ratio of polyribosomes to monosomes under defined conditions can be indicative of defects in either translation initiation or elongation ...
