Assange extradition reveals total hypocrisy & political bias of british justice

Assange Extradition Reveals Total Hypocrisy & Political Bias Of British Justice
On June 28, 1971, Daniel Ellsberg was arrested for his role in stealing the Pentagon Papers, a collection of classified documents that revealed the US government had been systematically lying to the American people about the Vietnam War. As for why The New York Times had a right to publish the Pentagon Papers, Justice Hugo Black composed one of the most famous paragraphs in Supreme Court case history: "Only a free and unrestrained press can effectively expose deception in government. And paramount among the responsibilities of a free press is the duty to prevent any part of the government from deceiving the people and sending them off to distant lands to die of foreign fevers and foreign shot and shell." /// The WikiLeaks founder says the charges are baseless and if extradited, he believes he will not face a fair trial. Assange posed some interesting questions: "Why is it that I am subject, a non-profit free-speech activist, to a US$360000 bail? Why is it that I am kept under electronic house arrest when I have not even been charged in any country?" And he is not the only one asking those questions, particularly as the British government has a history of granting asylum to some fairly controversial characters, including Russian business tycoon Boris Berezovsky who has blood of many on his hands. Berezovsky later said he had been trying to overthrow the Russian government, using the UK as his base. "It shows here the hypocrisy of the British court. Berezovsky has quite ...

Newsnight: Bailed Julian Assange live interview (16Dec10)
Newsnight's Kirsty Wark gives a pretty bad interview of Wikileaks' Julian Assange who was released on bail earlier in the day from bullsh1t charges. Wark was not exactly giving a fair interview, trying to put words into Julian's mouth, and not for the first time Wark gives a shit interview. The video has been upscaled to 16x9 PAL size, in the hope that some time in the future, youtube might realise that the world does not revolve around inferiour NTSC video frame sizes. Recorded from Newsnight, 16 December 2010.

WikiSecrets Julian Assange FULL Interview Footage PBS Frontline
Assange recorded the entire meeting for transparency. The PBS documentary was incredibly bias and distorted and unfair to the truth of both what Wikileaks does and to the accused leaker Bradley Manning. Before the official interview started, there was a very revealing conversation about Manning that in a subtle way betrayed the agenda of the PBS production. transcript - wikileaks.ch NOTE - scroll to the bottom of the page to see emails between Assange and PBS in which they promise to not distort the issues. this promise was broken.

Julian assange to rt: wikileaks gives 'most accurate picture of war'

Julian Assange to RT: WikiLeaks gives 'most accurate picture of war'
The shocking WikiLeaks release, which has revealed thousands of unreported civilian casualties in Iraq, is the most accurate picture of war ever made, and it is food for thought, says the website's editor-in-chief. The report, condemned by the Pentagon, claims that US commanders in Iraq ignored evidence of torture and the murder of civilians. "This material has revealed 15000 previously unreported, undocumented civilian casualties. That's an extraordinary number of people who have never been spoken about before," Julian Assange said. "We also see that the cover up of torture by coalition forces well after Abu Ghraib was a concrete policy, a secret policy: to not intervene with torture conducted by the fledgling Iraqi government," he added. "This is the most accurate description of a war that has ever been released into the historic record. There is nothing comparable. It is the details of the deaths of 109000 people, the wounding of 170000 people, the detaining of nearly 200000 people during a course of six years. Of course, that is only about a half the military action that went on during that period, because it is only the US view on things, but even so we see that there is nearly no street corner in Baghdad that did not have a body found that had been killed through violence in one form or another," he said. "We should start imagining it or stop supporting it. It is not good to support things that you do not understand," he pointed out. "We need to understand what the ...

Wikileaks founder julian assange arrested!

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange arrested!
Follow us! www.twitter.com Like us! www.facebook.com WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been arrested in London. And not for reasons you might expect. The founder of the controversial website that leaked classified information from the US is accused of sexually assaulting two women in Sweden in August. And it's amazing to me that we can find out about this stuff as it's happening, but it takes 4 months to arrest someone who was accused of rape? Let me guess -- you're wondering what today's hashtag topic is (#lemmeguess). See what I did there? *eyebrows* People are asking some rhetorical questions and making some sarcastic statements about things they feel are safe to assume. And if there's one thing that people on Twitter do well, it's be sarcastic... or bitchy. And Google Mobile Platform VP Andy Rubin showed the world what the Android Honeycomb tablet will look like at the D: Get Into Mobile Conference today. I'm pretty sure the D stands for Dork. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. A lot of people are excited about this future version of Android that will come out after the release of the Gingerbread one, which is next in line. To me they both sound equally delicious, and I'm more interested in eating them than using them in a phone, but I guess that's just me. And those Trenders are today's Top Trending Topics! What do you think would be an obvious assumption to make about someone or something? Write your own #lemmeguess in the comment section under this video and I'll ...

WikiLeaks Guilty of Espionage?
135+ MORE examples of Fox News Bias at www.youtube.com Wikileaks' publication of sensitive documents from the US government got a surprising amount of negative coverage from more traditional media outlets, no place more so than on Fox News where Fox News host Bill O'Reilly recently brought on Fox News anchor and attorney Megyn Kelly to give her legal analysis of laws broken by Wikileaks and its founder Julian Assange, but Megyn Kelly's analysis left out any mention of the First Amendment free press protections for publications like Wikileaks, as I show in this video. We Support WikiLeaks, Please Sign Petition
You can sign petition, link to FAIR's website: bit.ly FAIR is the excellent media analysis organization called Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting TinyUrl.com TinyUrl.com TinyUrl.com Text of Petition: As journalists, activists, artists, scholars and citizens, we condemn the array of threats and attacks on the journalist organization WikiLeaks. After the website's decision, in collaboration with several international media organizations, to publish hundreds of classified State Department diplomatic cables, many pundits, commentators and prominent US politicians have called for harsh actions to be taken to shut down WikiLeaks' operations. Major corporations like Amazon.com, PayPal, MasterCard and Visa have acted to disrupt the group's ability to publish. US legal authorities and others have repeatedly suggested, without providing any evidence, that WikiLeaks' posting of government secrets is a form of criminal behavior--or that at the very least, such activity should be made illegal. "To the extent there are gaps in our laws," Attorney General Eric Holder proclaimed (11/29/10), "we will move to close those gaps." Throughout this episode, journalists and prominent media outlets have largely refrained from defending WikiLeaks' rights to publish material of considerable news value and obvious public interest. It appears that these media organizations are hesitant to stand up for this particular media outlet's free speech rights because they find the supposed political motivations ...

Exclusive: my father not guilty of war crimes - mladic son

Exclusive: My father not guilty of war crimes - Mladic son
Former Bosnian Serb general Ratko Mladic is facing trial at the International Hague Tribunal. He's charged with genocide during the Yugoslavia war in the 1990s. Among his alleged crimes are the massacre in the town of Srebrenica, where 8000 Muslims were slaughtered, and the deaths of over 10000 civilians during the siege of Sarayevo. 69-year old Mladic was arrested by Serb forces near Belgrade last year. His defense lawyers earlier asked for the trial to be postponed, saying the prosecution had failed to provide evidence on time. They also accused the judge of bias. Their request was denied. Mladic is still viewed as a national hero by some Serbs. In an interview to RT, his son Darko Mladic told RT why.
