Switchfoot -"this is home" - the chronicles of narnia

Great news! Switchfoot has been chosen to record a song for the official Prince Caspian movie soundtrack! Greetings amigos! When my brother and I were kids, my dad used to read us CS Lewis books before we went to sleep. So when we were asked to be involved in a movie based on his book, "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" - we were honored to be considered. I wanted to capture the longing that is embedded in much of Lewis' writing- so I tried to think back to what these stories meant to me when I was six years old and write from that perspective. The song that came out is called "This is Home." It's been quite a journey: a San Diego song with strings cut at Abbey Road in London complete with a video shot in Hollywood. We are so excited to not only share this song with you, but you can hear the song streaming on our website, myspace, and facebook. The song will also be featured on the soundtrack, which is being released through Hollywood Records on Tuesday May 13th in stores everywhere. Aslan's theme - original chronicles of narnia

This song was used in the 1988 movie "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" played by the Philharmonia Orchestra. I used to watch this movie heaps when I was young and I loved the soundtrack, particularly this song: "Aslan's Theme". Since it was such an old movie there weren't many pictures online from it so I had to put whatever I could find. The main thing is the music so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Thesoundtrack was composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. Gregson-Williams had previously worked with Adamson on Shrek (2001) and Shrek 2 (2004). In addition there are three original songs in the film; Can't Take It In by Imogen Heap, Wunderkind by Alanis Morissette and Winter Light by Tim Finn. The soundtrack was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, England. Gregson-Williams employed the 75-piece Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra, along with a 140-member choir (mostly members of the Bach Choir) and numerous other solo musicians such as electric violinist Hugh Marsh and vocalist Lisbeth Scott (at his Wavecrest Studio).[29] He composed the original score and then spent late September through early November 2005 conducting the Hollywood Orchestra and overseeing the recording of the English choir.[29] For "color", he employed instruments used in ancient folk music, and to underscore critical dramatic moments, he added choral textures and, occasionally, a solo voice.
