Fbi releases russian spy surveillance videos

FBI releases Russian spy surveillance videos
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released surveillance videos of some of the Russian spies arrested last year in the US. Using spy tools like invisible ink and hidden messages in online photos, the bureau's investigators built up a detailed file of the spies as they passed information and money. But some intelligence officials worry the documents could give too much away and alert would-be culprits of tell-tale signs they are being watched. Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports from Washington.

The phobos-grunt conspiracy: is the russian spacecraft, a biological weapon?

THE PHOBOS-GRUNT CONSPIRACY: Is the Russian spacecraft, a biological weapon?
It seems that the Russian space agency won't recover the spacecraft Phobos-Grunt. Most likely, by now, its batteries are already dead and it's a matter of time until it deorbits and fall to Earth like a supersonic toxic bomb. I came across with several evidences pointing out that the Phobos-Grunt might actually be a biological warfare experiment and TPTB are using it for cause a massive disaster. www.independent.co.uk www.msnbc.msn.com pubs.acs.org forms.asm.org www.sbir.gov www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov www.pnas.org ukpmc.ac.uk 11oclocknews.typepad.com en.wikipedia.org www.sciencedirect.com en.wikipedia.org www.technologyreview.com www.n2yo.com www.planetary.org webservices.esa.int gold.dreab.com www.russianspaceweb.com astro.if.ufrgs.br

Russian hubble: breakthrough space telescope?

Russian Hubble: Breakthrough space telescope?
Possessing the biggest-yet space telescope, just launched into orbit, and the only manned spaceship that can take cosmonauts to the ISS, Russia's role in world space programs is irreplaceable, the country's space chief Vladimir Popovkin told RT. RT:Well, America's Hubble will now have company in orbit. Is the Russian telescope looking to discover something the Hubble has been missing during all these years it has been operating? Vladimir Popovkin: Foreign scientists, not Russian ones, say that our telescope is more interesting than the Hubble Space Telescope in terms of making new findings. It's a very profound science that implies a high degree of relativity of the final result. It's difficult to forecast anything here. The telescope makes it possible to monitor the emergence of new stars and galaxies in a radio frequency band, to see how the whole process goes and gather some statistical data on the basis of which it would be possible to predict the dynamics of development of our planet and the Universe and to understand where we have all come from and what's waiting for us in the future. In this respect, this is a historical event which marks Russia's return to space science. RT on Twitter: twitter.com RT on Facebook: www.facebook.com

Two Days to Save Russia's Mars Moon Lander Stuck in Earth's Orbit, Hope Fading - Nov. 10, 2011
They left out some important info in this 'report' so here is an article on the real issue: "The unmanned Phobos-Ground craft was successfully launched by a Zenit-2 booster rocket just after midnight Moscow time Wednesday (2016 GMT Tuesday) from the Russian-leased Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. It separated from the booster about 11 minutes later and was to fire its engines twice to set out on its path to the Red Planet, but never did. Russia's Federal Space Agency chief Vladimir Popovkin said neither of the two engine burns worked, probably due to the failure of the craft's orientation system. He said space engineers have three days to reset the spacecraft's computer program to make it work before its batteries die." IMPORTANT: "If the controllers fail to bring the Phobos-Ground back to life, the tons of highly toxic fuel it carries would turn it into the most dangerous manmade object ever to fall from orbit, Oberg warned. "About seven tons of nitrogen teroxide and hydrazine, which could freeze before ultimately entering, will make it the most toxic falling satellite ever," he said. "What was billed as the heaviest interplanetary probe ever may become one of the heaviest space derelicts to ever fall back to Earth out of control, an unenviable record." The spacecraft is 13.2 metric tons (14.6 tons), with fuel accounting for a large share of its weight. It was manufactured by the Moscow-based NPO Lavochkin, which has specialized in interplanetary vehicles since the ...

Russian avant-garde - rodchenko & shukhov

Russian Avant-Garde - Rodchenko & Shukhov
Art historian Andrew Graham-Dixon travels through time to unlock the world of Russian art. Andrew Graham-Dixon looks at examples of the work of Alexander Rodchenko. But best of all is a ride up the Shukhov radio tower, an amazing construction built by the engineer Vladimir Shukhov between 1919 and 1922. If it's not quite as ignored as AGD suggests (its restoration is after all the focus of a major UNESCO campaign) it is still an astonishing construction that is wonderfully well filmed here. www.illuminationsmedia.co.uk «Lord Foster fires up campaign to save rusting Russian radio tower» - guardian.co.uk www.guardian.co.uk www.shukhov.org Architect brands structure as a work of 'dazzling genius' and inspiration that must be saved. From a distance it looks a bit like an upturned wastepaper basket, soaring over the concrete skyline of southern Moscow. The Russian capital's unique Soviet-era radio station was built in 1922 to spread the message of revolutionary communism around the world, but it is badly neglected and suffering from corrosion. Now British architect Lord Foster has backed a campaign to save the 150-metre-high steel tower designed by the engineering genius Vladimir Shukhov. In an open letter, Lord Foster describes the tower as "a structure of dazzling brilliance and great historical importance". Calling the structure Shukhov's masterpiece, Foster says it is the "first major landmark of the Soviet period". Made up of a delicate lattice structure, the tower has ...

G. edward griffin, "the federal reserve is a private banking cartel"

G. Edward Griffin,
Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com You have probably seen the images by now. Athens on fire, the city literally burning as politicians within parliament voted to pass tough austerity measures to meet the demands of the EU and IMF, Greece's international lenders. This story is about more than just austerity and riots - it's wealth-extraction amidst economic collapse at work. The Greek economy is in the 5th year of a recession, which is a nice way of saying that it is in a depression. Money supply continues to contract, deposits are being drained and liquidity has dried up. The economy is in a free fall, and there is no bottom in sight. The proposals for recovery through "austerity" are just another way to keep the political system in place for as long as possible with the hope that the elites will be able to ride this storm out and come out the other end richer and more powerful than every before. We break down how exactly that works with Capital Account producer Demetri Kofinas. And while we're on the issue of debt, let's take a look at how the US is dealing with it. US President Barack Obama released his 2013 budget today. While it will be analyzed, touted, and attacked, why should you care, or rather, why should you not care? We'll tell you. And more economists come out saying the Federal Reserve is making a big mistake if it sticks to keeping interest rates near zero for the next three years. We look at how the Fed got here - it's evolution into central planner, buyer ...

ISS Tour - Welcome To The International Space Station!
www.facebook.com ... ISS Tour - Welcome To The International Space Station! --- Please SUBSCRIBE to Science & Reason: • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com --- The International Space Station (ISS) is an internationally developed research facility, which is being assembled in low Earth orbit. On-orbit construction of the station began in 1998 and is scheduled for completion by 2011. The station will remain in operation until at least 2015, and likely 2020. With a greater mass than that of any previous space station, the ISS can be seen from the Earth with the naked eye, and, as of 2010, is the largest artificial satellite orbiting the Earth. The ISS serves as a research laboratory that has a microgravity environment in which crews conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy and meteorology. The station has a unique environment for the testing of the spacecraft systems that will be required for missions to the Moon and Mars. The ISS is operated by Expedition crews, and has been continuously staffed since November 2000—an uninterrupted human presence in space for the past nine years. The ISS is a synthesis of several space station projects that includes the American Freedom, the Soviet/Russian Mir-2, the European Columbus and the Japanese Kibō. Budget constraints led to the merger of these projects into a single multi-national programme. The ISS project began in 1994 with the Shuttle-Mir programme, and the first module of the station ...

Update: Russian Space Program, James Oberg [HD]
Space Center Lecture Series www.SpaceCenterLectureSeries.com Update: Russian Space Program James Oberg Mar 25, 2010 Houston, TX Not long ago Jim Oberg had the unique opportunity to visit a top secret Russian military base where a converted military missile was used to orbit the Genesis-2 inflatable habitat prototype for Bigelow Aerospace. He describes his experiences at the southwestern Siberian base called 'Yasniy' (known to the CIA as the Dombarovskiy ICBM base) watching a 'Dnepr' launch vehicle blast off from an underground silo normally used for nuclear-armed 'Satan' ICBMs, and also 'nosing around' to see what else he could see without getting shot at. James Oberg, 63, is one of the world's leading popularizers and interpreters of space exploration. As the NBC News 'Space Consultant' he often appears in broadcast and website assessments of space events, explaining them and placing them in broader context, and usual breaking 'inside stories' far ahead of other news media sites. As guide for public-access expeditions to space-related locations for the American Museum of Natural History, he interprets space achievements as manifestations of human ingenuity and creativity, painted on metal and concrete and plastic rather than the more traditional canvas and marble and textiles. Davos Open Forum 2009 - Religion and Human Rights
www.weforum.org 30.01.2009 Davos Open Forum 2009 - Religion and Human Rights A Contradiction? Church and religious communities are often critical voices and successful fighters for the protection of human dignity and human rights. However, religion and human rights are often in contradiction to each other: forced marriages, religiously motivated terrorist attacks and the oppression of people with different religious beliefs are some examples. Moreover, some churches and religious communities still discriminate against women and homosexuals. 1) Why are human rights' violations committed on behalf of religion? 2) Is the increase of religious fundamentalism connected to respect or disrespect of human rights? 3) To what extent is religion used as a pretext for discrimination against women? 4) What is the responsibility of government in the protection of religious identity and freedom of worship, and should governments set limits? This session is co-organized with the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (SEK-FEPS). Serap Cileli, Author, Germany; Women's Rights Activist Mark Markish, Representative, Russian Orthodox Church, Russian Federation Frank Mathwig, Responsible for Ethics, Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches, Switzerland Abu Eesa Niamatullah, Imam and Executive Director, Cheadle Mosque, Cheshire & Prophetic Guidance, United Kingdom Daniel Thürer, Professor, University of Zurich, Switzerland Introduced by Micheline Calmy-Rey, Federal Councillor of Foreign Affairs ...

Moscow metro explosion - female suicide bomber

Moscow metro explosion - Female suicide bomber
At least 35 people have been killed after two female suicide bombers blew themselves up on Moscow Metro trains in the morning rush hour, officials say. Twenty-three died in the first blast at 0756 (0356 GMT) as a train stood at the central Lubyanka station, beneath the offices of the FSB intelligence agency. About 40 minutes later, a second explosion ripped through a train at Park Kultury, leaving another 12 dead. No-one has said they carried out the worst attack in the capital since 2004. But the BBC's Richard Galpin in the Russian capital says past suicide bombings there have been blamed on Islamist rebels fighting for independence in the troubled North Caucasus region of Chechnya. In February, Chechen rebel president Doku Umarov warned that "the zone of military operations will be extended to the territory of Russia... the war is coming to their cities". Moscow's metro is one of the busiest subways in the world, carrying some 5.5m passengers a day. 'No fire' Emergency services ministry spokeswoman Irina Andrianova said the first explosion tore through the second carriage of a train as it stood at Lubyanka at the peak of the rush hour. The station, on both the busy Sokolnicheskaya and Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya lines, is close to the headquarters of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). The BBC Russian Service's Yuri Maloverian at Lubyanka station says there are still ambulances on the scene although all the wounded have been transported to local hospitals. The ...

Nebraska nuclear power plant flood danger raised to critical, network news blackout

Nebraska Nuclear Power Plant Flood Danger Raised To Critical, Network News Blackout
The Nation Newspaper Sunday, June 19, 2011 ....Obama's DHS orders news blackout over crippled Nebraska Nuclear Plant: report Submitted 1 day 9 hrs ago A shocking report prepared by Russia's Federal Atomic Energy Agency (FAAE) on information provided to them by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) states that the Obama regime has ordered a "total and complete" news blackout relating to any information regarding the near catastrophic meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant located in Nebraska. According to this report, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant suffered a "catastrophic loss of cooling" to one of its idle spent fuel rod pools on 7 June after this plant was deluged with water caused by the historic flooding of the Missouri River which resulted in a fire causing the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to issue a "no-fly ban" over the area. Located about 20 minutes outside downtown Omaha, the largest city in Nebraska, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant is owned by Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) who on their website denies their plant is at a "Level 4" emergency by stating: "This terminology is not accurate, and is not how emergencies at nuclear power plants are classified." Russian atomic scientists in this FAAE report, however, say that this OPPD statement is an "outright falsehood" as all nuclear plants in the world operate under the guidelines of the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) which clearly states the "events" occurring at the ...

Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.Part 5 November 12, 2009 The Kremlin, Moscow. Dmitry Medvedev delivered his Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly. Послание Федеральному Собранию Российской Федерации. 12 ноября 2009 года Москва, Большой Кремлёвский дворец Of course, we also need to think about the natural resources that we can preserve and pass on to future generations. This is why I think that increasing energy efficiency and making the transition to a rational resource consumption model is another of our economys modernisation priorities. We can resolve this task only if each of us reflects on our personal responsibility for energy saving, as people are now doing throughout the globe. This is something everyone is thinking about elsewhere in the world. What needs to be done? First, we will launch programmes to produce and install individual meters. People in our cities and towns today are essentially paying for worn-out and therefore costly utilities infrastructure. People should pay only for what they actually consume. Second, we are beginning a transition to energy-saving light bulbs. People will save a considerable amount of money by replacing old equipment. Third, starting next year, we will begin carrying out projects to make city districts more energy efficient. Utilities networks will be modernised and a system of payments for services will be introduced that takes more into consideration families consumption and ...
