Pumpkin cottage - biosphere gardens - series 1 v.1 - medieval chinese painting exhibition.

This is alot of fun. Pumpkin Cottage is really a Digital Doodle. I simply opened up Biosphere, The Medieval Village components and started to use a basic landmass from the standard iClone kit by Reallusion. The finals are fun. CAN YOU SPOT THE LOST WATERING CAN! I laughed because I placed a Watering Can and then slipped on the mouse. I lost the can and couldnt find it on the map. I couldnt be bothered ot do a list search and delete so I left it where is was assuming it was underneath the lanmass. Well, it WAS underneath, but not the landmass. Hah! I hope it brings a smile and inspires. To work as fluently as this (forget the fact that this is speeded up about 700%) you DO need to be completely fluent with iClone. Sit down and learn where everything is. Stop to look and study the interface and try each element one by one by one. There isnt an easy way to learn iClone. Many come into it and think theres some magic manual. There isnt. It is ALL easy, but the key issue is familiarisation. If you dont stop and slow down.... you wont win. Armstrong.. Photoshop tutorial picture to drawing. it's easy folks!

Ok here's a great trick! This will turn any photo into a very believable "drawing" that a[[ears to have been done using traditional mediums. Take your layer, hit ctrl+J to copy it, then ctrl+shift+U to desaturate it. Now copy the desaturated layer ctrl+J again. Now hit ctrl+I to invert your top layer. From there change the layer from normal to color dodge or linear dodge. Now you should have an all whit layer. Go to filters, select Blur then apply a Gaussian Blur, setting I like is anywhere between 10 and 20. Now here's where I take a pro trick and as a traditional artist make it better! Select your second layer, the desaturated one, and apply a smart blur! This will soften up some of those harder lines and make it look even more like a drawing. Now don't worry much about it causing the over all image to look too light. From here you just adjust you levels settings to darken it to you liking. Manga style clay model 8 (female)

Hey guys, My latest manga style clay model. I threw this one together experimenting with the facial features and posture. It took around 20 hours to complete. My quickest yet. Im sure you get what shes doing, no explanation needed! I ran into a few problems making this one. The body was made using Super Sculpey clay and the rest of the model was made using Fimo. The super sculpey clay developed a fair few small cracks under the surface resulting in white specks on the clay. Ive not removed them as the size of the model would make the task too difficult! From now on ill be using Soft and Classic flesh coloured FIMO clay as i prefer it and gives no cracks what so ever (so far). Also, the size of these models presents another problem of making hands etc with super sculpey. I cannot get the detail required on the small things like the hands without deforming it. Annoying. Hopefully the fimo will help me. A new thing ive done on this one is make the eyes '3D'. She has closed eyes. I made the eye lids and eye lashes from clay to see how it looked compared to my others. I think ill be keeping this style in the future. I made a wire armature first then applied the clay. I baked this model around 4 times after adding what little clothing she has on etc. I used calligraphy pens to add a few highlights to the eyes and painted on detail like the stockings and nipples. Manga style clay model 10 (skater chick)

Hey everyone, my latest manga style clay model. This one is a lass sat on the roadside tying her skates. From start to finish it took around 50 hours to construct. The body I made using Super Sculpey, the hands from firm FIMO and the clothing, hair, skates and scenery from coloured FIMO clay. Parts of the scenery and the teeth are painted. The eyes I made using calligraphy pens. This one is by far the hardest model I've done. Probably due to the pose she is in. I sprayed the body. After baking a few times, flaws in the flesh appeared. Ah well, nothing I can do without spending hours correcting it! Again, on this one I was practicing many techniques. It is the same size as my nurse manga model. Manga style clay model 9 (nurse)

Hey all, my latest manga style clay model. Loosely based on a nurse....Anyway, this is the same size as the previous manga style model. The whole model is made from FIMO clay. The body was sculpted on a wire armature I constructed. The body was made using soft FIMO and the hands using FIMO classic to allow me to sculpt more detail. The clothing and hair was made using coloured clay along with the bed and flooring. The flesh colour was painted on. I made the eyes, eyelashes etc from clay to give the model more dimension. A technique I've never used before, for open eyes anyway. I added a bit of detail to the eyes using calligraphy pens. The stockings were a nightmare! The bands are clay and the rest paint. I initially used oil paint which looked horrendous. I then tried sanding the legs to smooth out the paint which didn't work. I dug out my airbrush, connected it all up to find that the air compressor didn't work! My final attempt to save the stockings was to spray the stockings on using spray paint. Luckily, it didn't turn out too bad. The shoes were also a nightmare, getting them the right size so she would fit into them while the heels touched the floor. I baked this model 4 times in total at different stages. It took around 40 hours to complete from start to finish. Thanks for looking, please look at my other clay models. Manga style clay model 11 (girl on computer chair)

Hey, my latest Manga style clay model. This i feel is my best yet. Its of a girl kneeling on a computer chair pulling her knickers aside. The process of how this was made is at the end of the video in the form of still photographs. I used a few techniques for this one that i have never used before for my others. The armature was made differently. I made the basic armature using copper cable. I then created a basic body shape on the wire leaving the joints free of clay. After baking i could now change the pose of the model retaining the basic body shape. I added additional clay. Making the armature this way allowed me to use 1 layer of clay for the whole body (bar thee breasts and muscle) The muscles etc were added and detail sculpted. Ive tried to keep the face as mangaish as possible, including the hair. Once the sculpting was complete i added the eyes once again using calligraphy pens and paint. I painted a few details like the nipples etc. The stockings were painted on bar the stocking bands which was coloured clay. The clothing and hair i made using coloured FIMO clay. As trialed before i made the top eyelashes from clay to give the eyes more dimension. I like this effect. The body was made using soft FIMO clay, the forearms and hands i made using classic FIMO to allow finer sculpting. The base, tongue and clothing was made using coloured FIMO clay. Manga style clay model 7 (stripper)

Hey all, my latest manga style model. This one is twice as small as my previous manga ones. I decided to go smaller as I'd save clay and I don't need to add tin foil to the armature before the clay is added. Basically, she's sat on a stool which has a fringed cushion in front of a curtain on a marble floor surface with the light box at the front. Her facial expression is a pout (bare with me!). I constructed the base first including the curtain and stool. I again like all my previous ones constructed a wire armature for the skeleton of the body. Once the armature was made I wrapped it entirely in a thinner gauge wire. This allows the clay to grip the skeleton. Due to this, no tin foil was needed. I used white FIMO clay for the body this time as I was in trial mode with this model. Once I made the basic body shape and sculpted the legs fully I used a heat gun to cure the legs so I could hold the model by the legs and continue with the rest of the body. Once the body was complete I cured it in the oven. Once cooled I sprayed the body with TS flat flesh coloured paint and allowed to dry. Next I added the underwear made from coloured FIMO clay. At this stage I normally bake the model again ready for the hair to be applied. The hair colour was obtained from a mixture of brown and red clay. Before I add the final detail to the hair I put the eyes on using calligraphy pens. I also used a single strand paint brush as I struggled with my pens. I cured the clay one final time ... Crashart68's abstracts in progress, and manga illustrations

I've sat looking at my illustrations for long enough, so now's the time to throw it out to the public. Quite a few of the illustrations are royalty free, and I claim no prizes for the drawings. I am however, looking to define a career change for myself, in either comic/graphic novel inking, or with a software/illustration company, who could hopefully use my talents. All the images are hand inked using Copic manga markers (hellishly expensive, but worth every penny). The paper is pure white acid free non bleed.. The only photoshop work you will see is for backgrounds and logos.. As for my abstract work.. I am very much a noob... Having done my first canvas just under a year ago. I pay homage and thanks to William Hall for gently steering me in the subtle but beautiful medium of cement :) Thanks also to Skye Taylor, who I stumbled across late one night..
