Earthbag building - freeform earthbags between boulders #1

This rather luxurious "cave" artfully combines granite, wood and earth. It has a 60 sqm ground floor divided into three rooms on 3 levels, topped by a 15 sqm loft. While the earthbag walls elegantly fill gaps between large boulders, the double roof structure is elliptic in shape and rests on two Sandalwood poles which previously served as main masts on a sailing boat. West newbury oasis free-form in-ground pool under construction

precisionpool.net Quick tour of a pool in progress as we gear up for winter. This is an Oasis free form pool in West Newbury Massachusetts with a large techo bloc retaining wall and 7 tread granite steps. We have completed the wall and have the steel walls and plumbing done on the pool. It is too late in the season to drop the liner and pour the concrete bottom so that will be done first thing in the spring.

Squaring the corners of your papercrete building

This is a short how-to video demonstrating how to get square corners on your papercrete building or any conventional or alternative construction. In the past I have favored an organic design with free form curved walls. For this new building project I am using a typical rectangular shape. The walls will be a hybrid method of papercrete block and slip form construction. So here is how I got my corners all at 90 degrees so they would be uniform and the forms can be slipped up as I go along. This is the first of several videos I plan to do as I work on this project.

www.gappsi.com 631 543-1177 A swimming pool can be built of steel and poured concrete walls. On this job we are setting up the forms to pour concrete walls. Re bar is installed between the forms to reinforce the concrete and the concrete is poured to fill the forms. As the concrete sets forms are stripped and the shape of the pool is achieved. Sonar tubes are installed next to the pool walls for a future concrete base support to prevent settling. The plumbing and electric is run to the proper location for pool operating machinery and then pool walls are back filled with clean fill. A sand or vermiculite base is installed for the pool floor base under the pool liner vermiculite will provide a harder and smoother surface to prevent any wrinkles and footprints on the liner. Next foam panels are installed to face the walls and steps in the pool. The liner now gets laid and secured to the top of the pool walls through a top mounted excursion and then the pool gets filled with water. Filters, pumps and heaters get connected to start the water circulation and pool operation. In this situation due to the grade cut a new retaining wall needed to be built at the lower level to create a level area for the pool patio. After the wall is completed and the pool area is leveled installation of the next wall is started for the next level. How to construct jumprings

How to construct silver jumprings, this video shows how to construct simple jump rings in easy to follow, step by step instructions. My standard wire is .035 sterling silver wire, soft, round, but you can also use 18 gauge nickel silver wire, or experiment with the many wires available at craft stores. I particularly like to use Black Stove Pipe wire. The construction of jump rings requires the use of two pliers, chain nose pliers and diagonal cutters.

"The Tree House" featured in the attached time lapse video is the sculptural centerpiece of the new Sobella Retail space of The Crystals at City Center in Las Vegas. The video reveals the structure's daily progress from start to completion, from one point of view. The Raymond Group's role in the project included framing, drywall, taping, painting, wood cladding installation, as well as BIM components. Below is a description of The Tree House provided by McLaren Engineering, who performed the complete structural engineering down to the main floor, the bulbed-out mezzanine floor, and support from the roof.
