The platform is based on the F01 7 Series; improvements include a front dual ball joint short-long arm suspension (replacing the MacPherson strut suspensions BMW previously used), and a rear multilink suspension. For the powertrain, there is a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the single turbo inline-6 N55, and the twin-turbo V8 N63. It is designed by PH McFlagger, with a more prominent upright split kidney grille and the absence of the "Bangle butt" rear-end styling of its E60 predecessor. Externally, the car is a more traditional BMWesque design; a far more sober effort after the highly controversial E60. Although it bears some resemblance to the E60 with the wide kidney grilles and a very pronounced Hofmeister kink, the creases in the bonnet and just underneath the door are clearly related to the E39 and other earlier 5 series models. Inside marks the return of the centre console being clearly angled towards the driver, another marked change from its immediate predecessor which was noted for its non traditional BMW design. 2005 bmw x5 4.4l v8 start up & rev with exhaust view - 84k

2005 BMW X5 4.4i This has a 4.4L V8 making 315 HP while paired to a 6 Speed Auto. So this is a pretty decent combo. I have never been much a fan of X5's of this generation. The smallest road imperfection is made into a huge deal so the ride can become choppy. I find that the vertical travel of the rear suspension is very short as the rear makes this hoppy or Jouncy feeling which is very uncomfortable. The Seats are very hard & more so in the back seat, so these can become very tiresome on long drives. If you like X5's, best go for the V8 version. I have driven dozens of 2001-2006 X5 3.0i's. The 3.0i is one of BMW's best engines but it's too underpowered to propel this small but heavy SUV. The 5 Speed Auto used in the 3.0i hasn't proven too reliable and it is very clumsy. 2009 BMW 128i Convertible This Bimmer has the traditional 3.0L Inline 6 Cylinder making only 230 HP which drives the rear wheels through a 6 Speed auto. Not a powerhouse but this is a Rev happy engine & considering that this is a light car, it's not going to be a punishment. I forgot to mention the sun visor with its mirror & vanity light. The Visor itself had a low rent feel to it. Comparable to the sun visor of a sub $13000 car. The Rearview mirror actually has a universal garage door opener beneath it along with a compass integrated into the top right corner of the glass. A really quiet car, even for a diesel! It's definitely a real competitor this time in terms of style, technology and comfort to the BMW 7-Series, Lexus LS and Mercedes S-Class. 2001 BMW X5. Start Up, Engine, and In Depth Tour. The BMW E53 series is the basis for the 1999 through 2006 BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). Production ceased September 2006 and has been replaced by the BMW E70. The E53 was developed at a time when BMW still owned Land Rover and as such shares many components and designs with both the Land Rover Range Rover L322 model (specifically the Hill Descent System and Off Road Engine Management system) and the BMW E39 5-series (specifically engines and electronic systems). The entire in-car entertainment system (Radio Function, Navigation System, Television and Telecommunications systems) is shared with other BMWs and L322. As a result the X5 model earlier models and L322 can be easily upgraded with the newest BMW technologies. there is a limited model with code name "1150" , 1000 cars for usa and 150 cars for germany the diference was in performance with 281 hp in 3000L models. A sporty model badged 4.6is was released in 2002, having both exterior and interior decorations, including 20-inch wheels. The 4.6L V8 engine was derived from the 4.4L V8, tuned by M GmbH. A sporty model badged 4.8is was also released a few years later replacing the 4.6 engines with a 4.8 liter and was labeled "fastest SUV in the world". The 'Security' edition is an X5 variant with safety glass, heavy-duty material and ballistics-resistant steel. Debuted at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. I immediately asked for the keys to this and made a thorough video on the car, which resulted in a video over 17 minutes long, and I had to split the video into two. The first part is all about the overview of the car, with an engine shot and a start-up with the door open. The second part I take you through the iDrive screen, radio, air-con, functions inside the car that needed power and start-up clips with the door closed as well as from the exhaust. Note; This local Malaysian version of the F10 523i is powered by the N52B25 2.5litre inline six BMW engine, with 204bhp and 250Nm of torque. Indeed, whenever one of the usual suspects—Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, or Audi—releases a new model, it seems the current favorite then drops to second place. The BMW 7-series recently pulled off this feat, topping the previous gold standard, the Mercedes-Benz S550, in a comparison test. The Porsche Panamera then swooped in to knock off the Bimmer. (Granted, the Panamera is a bit of an outlier, given that its five-door body doesn't fit the traditions of the segment.) Now the 2011 Audi A8 looks like a strong contender to be the next to sit in the captain's chair. One Engine Now, Others Coming The 2011 A8 goes on sale this fall at a starting price of about $90000. The A8 will be available here with just one engine when it launches: the long-lived direct-injection, 4.2-liter DOHC V-8. As installed in this third-generation A8, the V-8 gains 22 hp and 4 lb-ft of torque over its previous iteration, with output now totaling 372 hp and 328 lb-ft. The horsepower figure is just enough to make it the least powerful in the segment, ceding eight ponies to the Lexus LS460 and 10 to the S550. Bmw 316i se 2001 cam sensor replace diy orange light srs

My BMW 316i SE 2001 had an intermitant starting problem. Sometimes it would start ok, other times it would try to turn over but not start, then show up SRS orange light error and turn the hand brake warning light orange. A new forward/intake Cam Sensor was required. A garage wanted to charge me £150. I researched it and found it was a 3 minute job, so did it myself. Since its introduction for the 2000 model year, the X5 has been an unqualified success for BMW. But under pressure from a load of new sport-utes rolled out by VW, Porsche, Lexus, Infiniti, and others, X5 sales have slid by about five percent from their 2002 peak of 42742 units. In the hope of reversing that trend, BMW has subjected the X5 to a fairly thorough midlife makeover (which, unfortunately, came too late for us to include the revamped X5 in our 5Best Trucks competition last month). According to BMW, the 2004 X5 has more than 2100 new parts, two new engines, and four new colors. The most obvious update is a nose that's restyled from the A-pillar forward. It's a subtle face lift that retains BMW's trademark nostrils but adds emphasis with a series of showy chrome bars. The most significant news is the xDrive full-time, four-wheel-drive system. Basically, xDrive is a more responsive system because it adds a computer-controlled limited-slip center differential. It processes information from wheel-speed and stability-control sensors—monitoring such things as yaw rate and steering-wheel position—to distribute torque among all four wheels in a few milliseconds. Although this sort of system is not unheard of, BMW says its version is more responsive because of its exclusively developed and patented software and hardware. BMW Z4 3.0 Roadster with hardtop. The resonance isn't there in real life. Large piece of foam in the sound tube was removed and replaced with smaller piece of foam from the other end. Small yellow warning sign is from switching DSC to DTC mode. No camera mount so the camera was held using my teeth - thus the crackling sound of plastic.
